The William in San Antonio, TX
4.5

[Name removed] was a sales manager that helped us initially. She was wonderful with the move-in process and even helped us find some movers to help move my dad's furniture. The nurses and housekeeping people that I met were very nice as well as the staff in the dining room. I liked how the dining room felt more like eating out instead of a cafeteria, so I think that's really nice. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. When I call the front desk to check on things for my dad, they're always very nice and friendly, and they know exactly who I am. I would recommend this facility. The William is a nice place. And is a good fit for my father.

The Forum at Lincoln Heights in San Antonio, TX
4.6

I chose The Forum at Lincoln Heights because of the friendliness of both the staff and the residents here. As far as the food goes - So many of the dishes are covered with sauces or gravies. Offering the dishes with these on the side would be a major improvement. The vegetables are over cooked. They do have a good variety though.

Timberhill Villa Retirement in San Antonio, TX
4.7

My Mom, [Removed], has been here for 6 months and I am very pleased with the Timberhills community for her. It is a warm and peaceful community of caring people. She will have to transition to assisted living sometime soon, but for now it is a wonderful place for her.

It appears that the Forum Independent Living is having a facility staffing issue as they have a large sign in front of the facility noting a hiring need.

Complete guide to independent living

Alamo Heights, Texas

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a handy equilibrium between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about chores. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they see fit, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. There are an assortment of expenses and advantages to consider while selecting an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in the service plan: cable TV, field trips, private phone, initial assessment fee, wellness program, utilities, housekeeping, and transportation.
