It is pleasant enough, most residents seemed happy enough. The staff was kind and took an interest in mom. The room itself was poorly maintained. Flimsy door frame and the floor in bathroom was crumbling up near the wall. Counter surfaces, were never dusted or cleaned. They tried, but they were just always so short staffed!

Brookdale is very open to communicating with family. They are very attentive to the residents. Activities director keeps the residents involved. Mom has adjusted well with her move in.

These ratings apply to the experience of my 102 year-old-mother. This facility is perfect for her and she is content and well cared for. The wonderful staff, the small size of the facility, and the excellent way it is maintained are the things I like most.

From my first tour 8 months ago, to today, I have nothing but praise for this facility and all the wonderful folks that keep my 102 year-old mother comfortable, safe, and happy which became impossible for me to do at home. It is small, meticullously maintained, and the staff is caring.

We picked this community, because it was close to family. Staff is friendly. Facilities are very clean. Excellent attention to caring for residents needs. She calls it home! It took a few days to adapt, but now she loves the staff and the activities. I would recommend to other families. I feel their loved one will be well taken care of and will make it their home.

I could not be more pleased with Brookdale Maltsberger. My mother is 101 years of age and the smaller size is perfect for my mom's comfort and safety. It is well maintained and the staff are kind and attentive to her. I go to visit my mom everyday and I have never seen as much as a piece of paper on the floor. The facility is very well maintained and I have never smelled any unpleasant odors. All of the staff are outgoing and friendly from the moment I walk in the door, volunteering to give me an update on mom as time allows and always ready to answer any questions I might ask. I cannot complement enough all the staff at Brookdale Maltsberger for the care being given to my mom, nor ask for more. As I said everyone there is kind and attentive while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. She and all the residents are checked on regularly, her medications are given according to instruction and her personal needs are met very well. Any questions I have are answered promptly. Mom is also receiving hospice care and the Brookdale staff coordinates very well with the hospice workers. Brookdale Maltsberger did not advertise "5 star meals/buffets" like some of the other facilities I considered, but that was fine with my mom and the family. Such elegant fare had become hard for her to tolerate. That said, all the meals I have seen look appetizing, are varied, well balanced, well-prepared, and reportedly very tasty! Mom consistently says she enjoys her meals. The staff is also very accommodating about delivering meals to the residents' rooms if they are unable or uninterested in going to the dining room for any particular meal. Although my mom does not participate in many of the activities offered, she is always asked to join the other residents when they are happening. The activities director is wonderful and has a great sense of what Brookdale Maltsberger's residents will enjoy. She works very hard to make that happen for them and is always open to requests and new ideas. There is no getting around the fact that assisted living with personal care is expensive. I looked at 4 good facilities all within similar price ranges. I found the size, combination of services and overall population at Brookdale Maltsberger to be the best for mom and the care, compassion, socialization, safety, nutrition and overall environment for her and peace of mind for our family to be of great value to us and worth the cost.

Unfortunately our loved one was only there for a few days but we were very pleased with the staff. They were very helpful when we first came to the community, they were very helpful during the move in process as well as the days he was there. After our loved one passed, they were great to work with when it came to billing and the check out process. We would recommend them to other families .
Our family had an in person tour and it was a really good tour experience
Brookdale Maltsberger has been undergoing renovations for a few months now which was declined the quality of the overall cleanliness, and there are some small house keeping issues here and there. The care services are basic and adequate and generally the staff members are good and friendly. The meals and dining service is a little bit of a disappointment, because of the renovations sometimes the residents are required to eat in their rooms. Also for every single meal they have plastic silverware and is thrown away each time, we wish they used different silverware so there wasn't so much plastic being thrown out. They do have activities going on, but between the renovations and the covid restrictions we believe they aren't as good as what they have been. Our loved one came to Brookdale after moving out of another facility and it is a better decisions in regards to her everyday care and finances. Also they have single rooms and shared rooms for couples.

October 25, 2021Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. By giving us your feedback, you are helping us to understand what we do well and what we need to focus on improving. Please be assured your feedback will be reviewed and used to help better serve our residents and their families.
This was a nice community and smaller than we wanted. This was further away than we wanted for our loved one and that was the downfall.
We chose Brookdale because we liked it was smaller so that way there was a better staff to patient ratio. They are also very accessible, when I call someone always answers. When I was able to visit her someone was always there to greet me at the door. Since covid, I am constantly get an email or phone call about what is happening inside of the facility, they have gone above and beyond to keep us in the loop. The staff really try to make sure the residents are still in contact with their families and keep us involved. Overall, I have been very pleased.

The staff is very friendly and the residence is also very friendly and they look out for each other. The is the community has a nice cozy feel kind of like family. The rooms sizes are nice, a bedroom, a big bathroom, a living room, and a small kitchenette. I would definitely recommend this community

This was a very nice small community in a very quiet location. No freeway traffic. With its size, my Mom would be at ease coming and going and not be overwhelmed. Small enough to know the whole staff and its residence. The place was clean, homey, and had a nice size enclosed outdoor patio and garden. Good for an outdoor family gathering.

I had a nice tour of this community. Everything went well for the most part. From what I saw the community looked very nice but I felt that the location was not the best for us.

We're extremely pleased with how things have turned out with Brookdale Maltsberger! The staff here is friendly and helpful, and they've always been great about getting right back to us when we call. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and they take good care of the people who live here.

My only complaint is the fact that the billing is not done locally, but that's a minor thing compared to the care my mother has received. The staff has been really friendly and responsive. If I mention anything, they're quick to fix if there's any issues. They keep me informed on their situation. My mom isn't a fan of the food, but that is a more minor complaint. Overall, I'm extremely happy with how the staff cares for my mother!
