He's no longer at the William. That got shuttered by Aventine and they herded him and everyone else into some other place and then sold that place off to some other company that's terrible. Pretty bad experience to say the least.

The William moved everyone out in May of this year So they gave elderly residents 30 days to move out. They sent them to 2 sister properties in May so barely 8 months after we moved her in. The issue is when you move them into a new space, my mom had terrible anxiety They forgot about feeding the people who were still there near the end so they were eating the scraps left over and then when she finally moved to the new property we had 1 less closet so we had to purchase 3 pieces of furnaute to accommodate. And the best part is before they were officially sold they refused to drive them to their appointments because the van was out of gas and the old company wasn't giving them any money for gas so my mother was forced to Uber to her appointments Then 30 days after she moved into the new property they told us they sold the property to someone else and they had to do evaluations and everything again. Actually mom just got her evaluation last week. And sign new contracts again
I personally feel that the Williams was just looking for patients to fill their rooms. I specifically mentioned to the head person, that was in charge, that my husband had dementia with hallucinations. She promised me that the nurse on staff that she knew how to handle his needs. The staff in my husband's cottage didn't know how to handle him and they constantly were calling me to help. One staff member got in my face because my husband had an episode and was getting violent. I thought they were trained for this?? The head nurse had no idea what to do to help my husband. He had to be admitted to the hospital for reevaluation of his medications. I found chapter living of San Antonio and he was well taken care of until his passing.

[Name removed] was a sales manager that helped us initially. She was wonderful with the move-in process and even helped us find some movers to help move my dad's furniture. The nurses and housekeeping people that I met were very nice as well as the staff in the dining room. I liked how the dining room felt more like eating out instead of a cafeteria, so I think that's really nice. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. When I call the front desk to check on things for my dad, they're always very nice and friendly, and they know exactly who I am. I would recommend this facility. The William is a nice place. And is a good fit for my father.

My parents are currently residents at The William and most everything has been very good for them so far at this facility. At the time of move in, the staff to patient ratio at this facility was very good and the staff were ever present and attentive. Medication distribution was a bit bumpy at first, especially since my parents got used to their own system that did not match the facilities specific instructions. Overall, I would recommend The William to others.

My mother was previously a resident at The William. I have moved her to a different facility. My suggestion for improvement: they need to communicate better. No one ever communicated that the AC had been off for a total of 5 days. My mom had to sleep in a room where the outside temperature was over 103 degrees. Her door automatically closes , so it keeps in all the heat. It's pretty sad when my mom, who has dementia, knows to prop a chair to hold open the door so that cool air can come in. Very disappointed in The William.

Only issue is, when the regular med techs are off, like 2 days a week, they don't get their pills or get them very late in the day or evening. Other than that, she was a mess both physically and mentally when she went into assisted living and she has done 100% turnaround. I am shocked in the transformation and she is having so much fun. I am so thankful for A Place for Mom.

We didn't have a happy experience here. There was a lot of staff turnover. There was no communication with hospice and med techs. We were sold by the original director, and left a couple weeks after my loved one moved in. There is a lot of agency staff for housekeeping. The batteries in the smoke detectors went out, and the community didn't have anyone to assist with replacing the batteries. We saw pests. There was an staff argument in front of residents and visitors and this caused the chef to quit. We had to track down caregivers or med techs to provide medication to our loved one since this wasn't given on time.

Response from The William
April 26, 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for our community. Here at “The William, we greatly value input from our residents and community members to continue to improve and innovate. We appreciate your honesty in providing feedback to us. Would you be willing to further discuss your experience with me by phone or in person in our community? Can you let me know when would be a good time for me to give you a call? Warm Regards, Chris Terry, Corporate Director of Sales
The William's staff is very good. They are very friendly and respectful to the residents. The food generally is good. They have a new director over the food and she's making a lot of changes that are for the better. The William has been in a transition. Shortly after moving my loved one in, they lost the Director. So they're still trying to hire the Director and an Activity Director. But overall, my loved one is very happy. The room/apartment that my loved one has is very large and she feels nice and cozy in her apartment. She quickly met a bunch of people that love to play Bingo and has gotten started with that and says she really likes her friends. The building is older, but they are in renovations mode as we speak. So I look forward to good things coming down the road. At this point, I would recommend The William to friends and family.

The community was okay. The food was good. Some of the caregivers were really nice, but they need more training. They need to improve with the leadership/management. My loved one was there a short period of time. They had staffing issues, which was concerning. I was dissapointed with my experience. They didn't seem to be able to take on the load or provide services, that we were paying for.

February 20, 2023Thank you for your feedback on your experience. We strive to provide the best possible care and service to our residents. We invite you to contact our Executive Director to share more of your experience. Again, we thank you for being a valued part of the William family.
My loved one picked the community. It's very quiet and some of the ammenities, is not in good shape. The rooms are not in really great shape. They could update the floors, cabinets, and maybe do some remodeling. It could be cleaner and more well cared for. It's not a lot of people for my loved one to engage with. It's not a vibrant community. They don't have activities, that reall appeal to my loved one.

A Place for Mom has scored The William 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
