Bethel Lutheran Home in Selma, CA
5.0

We are very pleased with the senior living experience at Bethel Lutheran Home in Selma, CA. The apartment is large and spacious accommodating any physical needs. The quality to which the complex is maintained is one of the best I have seen. Apartments are well maintained and upgraded. The grounds are so neatly kept that it makes your outside experience so enjoyable. The staff has been outstanding from day one. Their attention to the needs and concerns of their tenants is number one in all phases of their organization--Human Resources, Administrative staff, Maintenance, Housekeeping, the Dining Café.

Cedarbrook Memory Care in Fresno, CA
5.0

Cedarbrook has been amazing. BTW, my father passed [dates removed]. We couldn't be more satisfied with the care he got there. What we liked the most about Cedarbrook is the complete dedication to patients and their well-being

Summerfield of Fresno
4.9

I would highly recommend Summerfield to anyone who is looking for a great place that provides memory care. What I love the most is I feel like my father has an extended family here. Summerfield will become another family for your loved one that will provide the love and care during those times when we are not able to be there. Summerfield prides themselves by treating residents as family. It is a night and day difference from where he came from. Prior to coming to Summerfield, my father was at Oakmont but we were deeply unhappy with his care there. He now smiles more, engaged more and became a lot more active. The employees at Summerfield truly care about the residents. Residents are constantly greeted, talked to, hugged, and there always seems to be laughter around. Summerfield has a great employee to resident ratio and ratio and I always see employees helping residents, smiling, and talking to them with dignity, care, and humor. Residents have a home away from home here.

Complete guide to nursing homes

Sanger, California

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community offers lodging to two or more persons who have no family relation to the administrator. This type of establishment provides its occupants with care by on-site nurses. These nurses offer health related services for those who cannot take care of themselves.

This type of community is a familiar and easy living choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will allow individuals 55 and greater (a rarity in the realm of senior care).Often times persons may prefer life in a nursing home due to a mental or physical disability that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their standard of living. Examples of care services and amenities provided at nursing homes might include social and recreational activities, help with legal questions, monitoring serious illness and unstable health status, and injections. The most common mental disease experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and familiarity, memory recall, and decision making capacities. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), medically-related social services, emergency dental services, and nursing and related services to residents. A significant amount of inhabitants tend to be single women who have circles of support, and about half of nursing home residents are over the age of 85.
