I'm really blesses here at Sierra View Homes. My husband is in Skilled Nursing and has been for many years. I live in an apartment and I can go see him many times per day. The staff is very loving and friendly. I like that I can swim 5 days a week in the indoor pool. I thank the Lord for Sierra View Homes.

I live at Sierra View Homes and have since 2013. Making the move to Sierra View was the best decision for my wife and myself. The employees here truly care about us and treat us with respect and dignity. I enjoy the daily Men's coffee club, and the companionship of all the residents. If you cant live in your home anymore this is truly the next best thing.

From day one I have felt a part of this community, and accepted as a family member of Sierra View Homes. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure all my needs are meet, spirituality, physically, and emotionally. In summation I have never felt excluded in the involvement of participation in activities that have assisted me during my stay. This is a home away from home for me.!

I've been here in Sierra View Terraces for four years this Thanksgiving. My experience here couldn't be better. I swim and use the pool, when I needed therapy for a back problem I got the best care I could have possibly got. You get help with everything, even my computer, it quit a few weeks ago and [name removed] came and fixed it! Everything is kept up so nicely...it's hard to put into words how great my experience has been. It's the smartest move I ever made.

My husband [name removed] and I moved to SVH in February, 2012. We felt so fortunate to be able to spend our retirement years in such a beautiful place. We found it to be the best-kept secret in economical living -- didn't even need the usual appliances! As the years flew by my husband's health declined. The day came when it became necessary to move him into skilled nursing because I could no longer care for him. The transition was so simple and held no trauma for him or me. He was there for 4 1/2 months before God took him to heaven. During that time he received the best of loving compassionate care. The care-givers became our friends. I could walk over to see him and spend as much time with him as I wanted. I could even bring him to our apartment in his wheel-chair and have lunch with him. I can't be more grateful! I continue to live here and this will be my home until God takes me to His home. I have wonderful friends, a beautiful place to live, and all the support I need.

It has been almost two years since our parents moved into the Terrace Apartments at Sierra View Homes. Since then we have had numerous opportunities to interact with Sierra View's staff on our parents' behalf. Whether our concern was a simple thing like having dinner brought up to our parents because of the summer heat or dealing with an emergency situation that required transport to the ER via ambulance, the people at Sierra View always demonstrate compassion, understanding, and professionalism. I believe this is due, in great part, to an obvious hands-on approach to management. It is not uncommon to see Sierra View's management staff waiting tables in the dining hall or the executive director tenderly feeding a wheelchair-bound resident.

My parents have been at Sierra View for the past year-and-a-half. We have found Sierra View to be a loving, caring community of people who genuinely are concerned for the well-being of your family members. They are quick to respond when called upon and always have a willingness to help you navigate through changes that come along. The Senior Living Apartment is certainly a great setup for parents transitioning out of their homes. It brings us great comfort to know that in a moment's notice somebody can be up in their room checking them should the emergency cord get pulled.

I love this place! Not because I work there, but because 5 years ago I went searching for a place for my parents to live. That's when I found Sierra View Retirement Community. My step Mom had lived both in Independent Living Apartments, Residential Care and Skilled Nursing. With my father living in an apartment on campus it was very easy for him to visit her multiple times each day when she fell ill and had to make the transfer to the higher level of care. It was after I placed them here that I experienced first hand, what a great place to live this is. They treated her and my father with respect and dignity they deserved. The staff was caring and loving. I'm so blessed to have found this hidden gem in Reedley.

So far the move to Sierra View Homes has been a good choice for my mom. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff is very welcoming when I come to visit. The staff is friendly and caring and attentive to her care needs. Mom has to have all of her food pureed but she seems to like it. There are plenty of activities that the staff encourages the residents to participate. My mom enjoys watching all of the activities. They have nice areas for the residents to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. I would recommend this community to others.

My father was a resident in skilled nursing at Sierra View Homes, and my mom lived in independent living. The only reason Dad's care was tolerable was because Mom was there 10-12 hours a day overseeing it. Management and staff resented her presence, and at times treated her with disrespect. My dad recently became gravely ill, and the staff at Sierra View Homes did not take any extra measures to treat his issues. When I insisted that he be tested for infections (which he had) they first refused to do it, then admitted that they didn't have the proper supplies to test it (they had expired, they threw them away, and they hadn't ordered new ones). Finally he was transported to the hospital. He had multiple severe medical conditions, which resulted in his death 8 days later. Because of the way SVH staff treated my dad toward the end of his life, my mom no longer feels safe living there. She will be seeking another community to spend her last years in.

I have been disappointed in almost every way. They have all the basics but they are a line layer of basics. It took me 5 days and 4 people to reach the lady who runs the kitchen. The food is not eatable most of the time. I have not been able to get the lighting fixed in my room and the hallway. The nurses aides help with the kitchen and the kitchen staff help with skilled nursing.

The charm of this place is that those living in the Terraces get dinner in the dining room with their apartment. That helps build a sense of community and really helps seniors to connect and feel like someone is looking out for them. Also great about this Sierra View is that this community has all levels of care, from independent living to nursing, which many places do not have, not to mention the fact that the staff and administrators are available and helpful.

Overall I am very happy with Sierra View Homes. This facility did not have a small single available when we needed it. They did give us a large unit at a small rate. The agreement was if a small single became available we would decide if we wanted the small or stay in the large if we could afford it. Well, they had crisis come up where they needed the large for double occupancy. They called to let us know but by the time we got up there they had already moved 2/3 of her things out. There was no sensitivity in the situation. They were trying to accommodate the resident because her husband was dying but there was no sensitivity to Sally being a new resident. The care is good. The patient/staff ratio is good. One personal pet peeve of mine is if clients or residents don't want to get dressed the staff let them stay in their pajamas. So sometimes in the common areas the residents still have their pajamas on. Sally is on hospice so she gets showers through them. I thought the staff would still give her at least one shower. They have accommodated us and we at least have a new shower schedule worked out. Overall its is very positive. The only thing that has irked the family is the whole scenario with moving her in. Their garden courtyard is very nice. Sally was always a gardener. We would encourage them that the TV in the common area should be a little larger for 12-15 people to view it. It gets hard for all of the residents to see at once. One very positive thing is they got iPod s for the for residents. I think that is a really great thing.

I am looking for low income senior housing, independent. Hoping for a pool. I see this is a religious community; do they welcome those of various faiths? I am Methodist.
