I did find it was the least efficient during transition of ownership and she had passed b4 Grove took over. She broke her hip from a fall in the night to the bathroom alone. She had Dementia, so should not have been going to bathroom alone. So, I question the rounds of how often patients were being checked for safety and needs in the night.

I have had friends ask me and I am highly encouraging them to consider the Grove. I'm speaking to one about it tomorrow. The staff at the Grove is incredible. The fact that a large part of the staff are still there from when my father lived there from 2012 until he passed to heaven in 2015 is a testimony to the type of organization and caring in that community. To be hugged on and loved on by staff when we moved my mom in was so helpful in our own stress of finding the right place for her. She made her own choice but we were so happy she chose the Grove. Already the staff has been incredibly flexible to my mom's needs and [name removed] the chef made a special gluten free meal for our family in the family dining room the day we moved her in... that kind of special attention can't be found everywhere! And the fact that the Grove has cared for my dad's cat for the last 8 years is a testimony of their "people centered" services!

Our family had an in person tour with Sunrise of Fresno and it is a beautiful community, but the person we spoke with was a little to pushy for us.

June 6, 2023Hi, We are sorry that you are disappointed but appreciate your feedback. We are committed to providing you with a great experience and encourage you to contact us at information@sunriseseniorliving.com so that we can learn more. –The Sunrise Team
My mother in law didn't participate in the activities, she basically was a recluse by her own choice. The quality of care...my only concern was that the staff were not always on the same page. My MIL needed more than the average care for an Assisted Living facility, so it might have been more appropriate to have put her in a Skilled Nursing facility....but she adamantly refused to go to one. I don't think she ever adapted to being there. Her health declined rapidly and we lost her after she was in there for 3 1/2 months. But we don't blame the facility. They were very supportive and accommodating when hospice had to be called in. And extremely helpful during her hospice care. It's a great facility overall. Had her health and mobility been better, she might have thrived there. Would I choose this facility if it were me? Absolutely, I would.

June 13, 2023Hi Sandy, we are so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your experience. - The Sunrise Team
My father currently lives at Sunrise of Fresno and everything at this facility has been great. The facility is clean. The staff is reliable and caring. Communication with the family is constant. The nurses are on board to assist my father. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends.

June 7, 2023Hi Belle, Thank you for the wonderful things you said about Sunrise of Fresno and the dedicated care givers and team members. Our residents are part of the Sunrise family and we take enormous pride in having the privilege to take care of them.
We have been here about 6 months now, they are changing ownership and going through a transition which is impacting all of ratings which were better 6 months ago. I do feel my mom is overall safe and in good hands as a registered nurse myself.

We picked this community, because it was the only one with an opening at that time. They are average from what I have seen.

November 17, 2022Hi Steve. We're sorry that you did not have a positive experience. Would you care to share more? Please email us at info@sunriseseniorliving.com so we can address your concerns.
I toured this community and it was nice overall. It's a big facility and I didn't love the set up, but part of that is personal preference. We were looking for something smaller that felt more like home. Pricing is a lot higher than many of the others we looked at. It could be a great fit for someone looking for that kind of atmosphere, though.

This community was very good it was just too expensive for us and cost was just one of the biggest things for us due to being self pay.
Sunrise of Fresno was a very close second for us during our search. It had such a nice, homey-feeling when you walk in and the facility itself is beautiful. The tour was wonderful and they covered all of the bases.
I really liked Sunrise of Fresno although the cost for a private room at this facility is over $1,000. plus of mom's current monthly income. I liked [name removed] personality; I did not feel rushed. I would consider Sunrise for my mother as it is located in Fresno, where all of our family resides.

I like to thank the entire staff of Sunrise for the excellent care my friend and companion received while staying in their facility. [Name removed] needed around the clock care for 2 years! The nurses & caregivers took care of him like it was one of their own family member. They try very hard to please all residents with providing meals that are nutritious as well as tasty , Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. I can only recommend this facility to anyone that needs help with a loved one! Thank you again Sunrise, keep up the good caring work! ????

It is a shame that this facility “triages and assesses” potential residents and assures the family that the care they provide will care for your ailing family member. My dad was allowed to fall the very first day he was here due to orders for care not being passed to the nursing staff. That resulted in a visit to the ER. Two weeks later he was allowed to dehydrate severely which resulted in yet another ER visit. The final incident involved another resident [Removed] my father in his own apartment. This is totally unacceptable care.

I thought the staff where very organized throughout our tour of this facility and had a lot of great information to provide us with . They answered any questions we had for them and where very patient with my mother. The property was clean and I liked how spacious the dinning room as well other common areas where. It was just not the right location for us in the end decision but I would recommend it to anyone.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan they had as well as other amenities available for the residents. It was just not the right fit in the end decision for my mother.

A Place for Mom has scored The Grove 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
