I moved my mother to Carmel village which I would highly recommend and has excellent quality of care. Sadly mom passed the end of [date removed]. The staff was loving and caring and overall professional. My mother loved it there. And would comment on how well they take care of her. They had a policy of checking in every 2 hours to see if there was any needs

Carmel Village is a nice facility with a very friendly staff. I have one friend in assisted-living and another in the memory care unit. Both have comfortable accommodations and the staff is very helpful cleaning the facilities. Both have commented that meals are adequate, but think menus could be improved.

I decided to put my mother in Carmel village memory care center when her dementia became advanced in February of 2023 and after I was advised it was one of the best in Clovis. At first I thought it was a good idea because they kept her clean but then they started drugging her to the point of she slept all the time, which I understand they need to keep her mellow but I thought they used to much and I explained that to them. The food they serve them started out okay but shortly after it was very bland, I would pay for my own meal and eat with mom who needed help getting to the cafeteria, she was very sleepy. One day in late September of 2023 when I wasn't there she fell out of her chair in the cafeteria where there are many caregivers and the fall broke her hip. I was notified by one of the caregivers that she was being transferred to Clovis community hospital for the injury and surgery, the surgery went well but the trauma caused her to go into shock and stopped eating and drinking, she

As an independent living resident, my interaction with the staff and other residents is up to me. I have weekly housekeeping and all maintenance is provided, as needed. My cottage is spacious with a full kitchen, laundry, two bedrooms and a garage. All utilities are included with my rent. Interaction with residents is encouraged and there are a full range of activities available daily. Although my husband is no longer with me, I am so thankful to be living at Carmel Village at Clovis Senior Living. I am happy and, most importantly, I am safe. P. S. We have a few empty cottages.

The staff always keep us updated and well informed on how mom is doing. As far as the food goes, I think it needs to be warmed, sometimes when it is served it is cold. I would recommend Carmel Village at Clovis based off of our experience.

Response from Carmel Village at Clovis Senior Living
May 10, 2024Thank you for the review. It is an honor to serve our residents and families.
My loved one is currently a resident at Carmel Village at Clovis Senior Living and the experience has been great. It's been very good, professional and friendly, and warm there. There are hard workers, always hustling cleaning etc. The food is good. Based on our experience, I would recommend Carmel Village to others.

My loved one is a resident at Carmel Village. She was supposed to be evaluated after 3 months, but she has been there for several months and that has not happened yet. She says that the menu is not varied much and that a meat, potato, veggie are standard for dinner. I ate there several times and the food would not entice me to move there.

My husband and I live in Carmel Village at Clovis Senior Living. Everyone knows our name and is super helpful. We are in an Independent Living Cottage, but I have met many residents in the Assisted Living Facility and they seem very satisfied.

Other than the corporate office trying to add a surcharge when the contract stated no increase in price for a year, we love the care at Carmel Village. The surcharge has since been removed after us going to CDPH about it.

It's a very warm and inviting place. Everyone there is great to work with, it's just a really good place.
All of the staff members are really good and super helpful. Our loved one does not really participate in the social activities but he really enjoys going down to listen to the live music entertainment. We do think the residents sometimes get a little to much sugar.
My loved one has been at Carmel Village at Clovis now for almost 3 months and it has been a great experience so far, we have no complaints. This facility was our first choice and it has turned out to be a great one. I would definitely recommend the facility to others looking.

We have been very impressed with the care services so far, however there could be some improvements. The meals and dining service could be better it is not the best, and it seems like the activities are pretty repetitive so they could offer more of a variety. Also they could improve on their internal organization especially when it comes to the laundry service, our loved one has had things go missing and the house keeping.

This is a very nice place for an elderly parent to be. We feel very confident in their care that they are providing our loved one. We couldn't have more peace of mind with the staff and our loved one being in their care. My loved one has had a nurse check on them a couple of times. The meals are good and a variety of meals offered.

Our family is happy overall. My biggest complaint was the handoff day when we took our loved one in. It was a little disorganized and could have been handled differently. I was disappointed that the transition didn't go smoothly for our family and ultimately for our loved one. But the facility is very nice. Everyone has been friendly. I've seen some activities going on in the little amount of time I've been there personally. And overall, we're happy with Carmel Village.

They did a great job working with my family to get the best rates due to my loved ones limited income. They were very accommodating and helped us greatly with knowing what to do and what all needed to happen to get the best care for our loved one.

Our tour with Carmel Village was great! They offered a lot but we felt the facility itself was too big for our loved one and the size made it feel less homey.
If your loved one is independent this is not a good fit. The food is not very good and sometimes my mom goes without because she can't eat what they serve. In the past, the staff has not been as friendly as they should have. The price has been raised and we were told several things that would be done upfront but it was not. They have recently changed management and communication is better.

I was given a tour of the facility as well as an overview of the care given. A counselor answered all my questions. Best of all, the residents I encountered seemed very happy there. They had good things to say.
