Grandma Joan's Live-In Care Consulting and Recruiting in Oakland, NJ
5.0

Grandma Joan's provided me with a very easy to use platform to find and employ a live-in caregiver for my 104-year-old dad. All the administrative details which would have been very hard for me to find out and deal with were included in the step-by-step guidance provided. On one hand the service is pricey but on the other, not easy to find a comprehensive package that would have resulted in such a trustworthy arrangement, which was the overarching criterion. California has stricter rules about payment to caregivers than other states so cost is simply higher but given that as an unavoidable feature, this was still a more viable set up than I could otherwise find. All in all, I am very glad that I was referred to David and his service which has so far had a good outcome.

Other than the no shows, they have been great. Even at that, they hustle to find a replacement. They are very helpful on keeping mom on target with meds and water consumption. Getting her up and moving. I don’t have to worry when mom takes a shower. And they make sure she eats. They also help out with other things like dusting, washing dishes, cleaning the stove, folding clothes. We have been very pleased with the people you have sent out to care for my mom. They treat her with kindness and we don't worry about her as much knowing she is being taken care of. And let me tell you - my mom is a people person. We found that when she was staying home by herself - that she would really miss visiting with people. These wonderful caregivers have lifted her spirits tremendously. I appreciate their help very much!

Home Care

Companion care offers many services that can be provided in the privacy of your family’s home. In-home care provides multiple services including local transportation, housekeeping, and tracheostomy care. This type of care can provide various medical services such as retrieving medication from secured storage, aid in self-administration of medication, and opening container lids. Typically, home care providers screen potential clients prior to admittance. This screening might include skin problems, medication use, and ADLs abilities. Also, services provided may include therapy and help with household chores. Non-medical home care may also afford your loved one assistance going grocery shopping and with assistance managing tasks.
