Heritage Woods of Belvidere
5.0 / 5.0

I am very content living at Heritage Woods. My apartment is very comfortable and convenient. The nurses and CNAs are very attentive and convenient. The food is good and I may also eat in my room if I so desire. There are activities every day. Also a small store 2 days a week.

Anam Care of Rockford
5.0 / 5.0

The community is small, well staffed. They really understand of the needs of residents with memory issues. When I visit my loved one it is just like coming to nice homey living room.

Prairie View Assisted Living in Winnebago, IL
5.0 / 5.0

It is a small close network. My loved one loves it, and feels they are at home. The communication with the staff is amazing. It is personalized, and call you on everything about your loved one. The community was strict with their rules during the pandemic. You now have to show your vaccine card and can't come in for 10 days afterwards, and you must set an appointment to see your loved. The community only had a low percentage cases of COVID the entire time of the pandemic.

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a balance between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about housekeeping. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping are taken care of while you are able to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a variety of advantages and expenses to balance while choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in your service plan: Waiting list deposit, housekeeping, initial assessment fee, meals, field trips, internet access, cable TV, and parking. The conveniences associated with independent living include healthcare center, laundry service, community activities, restaurant-style dining hall, concierge services, private rental hall, game/TV room, and transportation.
