Wesley Willows a CCRC in Rockford, IL
5.0

Wesley Willows was great to work with. My mom was there for rehab, respite, and assisted living. We were very happy with the care. The nurse and CNAs took great care of my mom and always keep updated regarding her care. She was very happy with the food. We chose the community because my mom had friends already living there, it was highly recommended, and it's always been an established community in our area. I would highly recommend this community.

Heritage Woods of Belvidere

Complete guide to nursing homes

Rockford, Illinois

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that provides lodging to at least two individuals who have no family relation to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its inhabitants with around-the-clock care administered by registered nurses. These nurses provide health related services for those who are unable to adequately care for themselves because of their aging.

This type of community is a helpful and comfy care alternative for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will routinely take in persons 55 and older which is for other senior care types. A significant portion of nursing home inhabitants are seniors who have incontinence issues, have a physical or mental disability, require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, or experience difficulty with vision and hearing. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get proper medical care, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, be treated with respect, and be free from abuse and neglect. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, nursing and related services, pharmaceutical services, and emergency dental services to residents. Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal reading materials, special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, and specially prepared food. Types of care services and amenities provided at nursing homes can include home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), help with legal questions, personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance), and adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) .
