Transition from hospital with staff and hospice at Sunrise was not what was expected. Lack of staff for weekend and holiday. When emergency button pushed sometimes no response or over 30 minute response. Medications not administered as needed. Needs of patient could not be met in a timely manner. 24 hour care essential to make sure patient needs were attended to.
We can only speak for the memory care section. We love the 9-5 staff of Brickmont, but the staffing and care was not the same or best experience on nights and weekends. High turnover, 50% lovely caring people, just not enough of them.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you have activities, except for Saturday and Sunday. They have transportation within a ten mile radius and no charge. They also do outings, such as trips to grocery stores and restaurants. The move in was easy. The meals are good, but should be more healthy and not seafood so much due to allergies. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Independent living offers a stress-free lifestyle for older adults. Independent living communities don’t provide personal care or supervision, but do offer generally healthy adults opportunities for socialization and hassle-free living. Independent living services often include:
Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but cost of owning a home might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a convenient solution. Basic chores such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they see fit, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent health care providers, they may always do so. There are an assortment of expenses and benefits to keep in mind while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in your service plan: move-in fee, meals, transportation, parking, cable TV, private phone, initial assessment fee, and field trips.
