Phoenix Assisted Care in Cary, NC
4.0

My mother is doing very well at the Phoenix Assisted Care. The place is clean and well maintained. When we first moved in, she was in a shared room but has now moved into a private room. The meals they provide are very good.

Spring Arbor of Raleigh
5.0

My loved one was a resident at Spring Arbor of Raleigh until they had a fire recently, which unfortunately displaced most of the residents. The staff at this facility was great. My loved one really liked the place. I liked it too, from my very first visit. Everything was great about my loved one's experience at this facility. It really was a great place!

Waltonwood - Cary
5.0

The staff was very easy to work with, very sensitive to our needs and very helpful with all the things I may not realize I would need. Communication was excellent and my texts and calls during the process were always answered promptly. It was a difficult move at the time, but now my parents are thriving and have friends, activities and a safe and comfortable way to live. The physical and occupational therapists are the best. They enjoy the food and I am happy that I can rest assured they are receiving healthy food and meals that are good for them. They have taken advantage of the 15 minute assistance from the nurses or caregivers and also the nurse practitioner to visit when unable to get to the doctor. We would definitely recommend the facility. It has been great!

Nursing Homes

A nursing home facility provides lodging to at least two seniors who have no personal relation to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its occupants with care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer health related services for people who cannot adequately take care of their needs.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and easy living alternative for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will routinely allow access to individuals 55 and above (a rarity in the realm of senior care). There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal clothing, cosmetic and grooming items, and flowers and plants. Often times individuals might choose to live in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical disability that prevents them from easily accomplishing the activities of daily living. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be treated with respect, get information on services and fees, be free from abuse and neglect, and to manage your money. The most frequent mental issue effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capabilities, memory recall, and and their sense of familiarity. A large number of inhabitants tend to be single women with circles of support, and about fifty percent of nursing home residents are over 85 years old.
