Brookdale Meadowmont

My sister and I were looking for a facility for our mom and met with [name removed] at Brookdale Chapel Hill. While we ultimately decided to move her back to Maryland, we cannot express enough how impressed we were with [name removed], his presentation and the faicilty. If need ever arises in Chapel Hill, Brookdale will be our first choice!

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Meadowmont and the overall experience has been great so far. The staff is better than great. The food is typical institutional food, I don't like it but our loved one is okay with it, doesn't love it, but doesn't complain too much. The activities are so-so, our loved one doesn't participate much. The value seems on par with other choices. Brookdale Meadowmont has worked well for our needs. We would recommend it. The staff is super.

This facility was the first one I’ve toured that felt like my mom would get the care like her family might give. Everyone I met was friendly, and there is longevity in staff here that you don’t normally see. Also, they have 4 stars with DHHS, which means they are consistently good over time. We ended up putting my mom in Independent Living, but this was my top choice for AL.

We moved my mother into memory care (Clare Bridge) at Brookdale Meadowmont over a year ago. In that time, despite her continued decline, we have had very positive experiences. The staff goes above and beyond to care for the residents and to ensure that there is joy in every day. The communication from the facility is outstanding and they are very responsive to any requests. We highly recommend Brookdale Meadowmont.

This community is the hidden gem of Orange County. They have a very attentive staff and management team that genuinely listens and cares to what there residents and families have to say even if it is a critique.

Quality of staff care for my spouse was my number one priority. Facility and room layout, facility location, cost, overall size and the personality of the space, and other amenities are also factors. During a short visit, I was able to ask about staff turnover, and was able to see some resident/staff interactions. Staff interaction during the assessment of my spouse as an applicant was valuable. I was also looking at the rooms (size, single or double) and the space configuration (does it seem to fit my spouse’s behavior, eg, is she a pacer or a socializer). I also talked to family members of current residents. I believe one never knows for sure if it will work beforehand. And what works for one family is not always transferable to another resident or family. For me, I am glad I chose Brookdale Meadowment for my spouse. My feelings about the caring and skill of the staff have been confirmed. A single room in a small facility seems right. And location works for me.

My mom has been at Brookdale, Meadowmont for just about one year and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The staff are wonderful and caring and they always strive to make it a great place to live. We just enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day tea for example. The facility is terrific-super clean and cozy rooms. The best compliment that I can give is that it was hard for my mom to move out of her own home, but she says that now Brookdale feels like home! I truly believe this is the best place in the Triangle for my mom!

My mom has been in Clare Bridge for about 3 weeks. The staff has done a good job taking their time with her and making sure she's settling in well. When I come to visit, she always seems to be in a good mood, and she's not distressed when I leave. I have been impressed with the staff ratio in memory care (1:4), the stability of the staff, and the good communication with the admin team. The hands-on caregivers, who have the greatest impact on Mom's quality of life, are positive and caring, truly good people. The unit is small enough (just 8 residents) that the caregivers are getting to know my mom really well and trying very earnestly to work with her in ways that make her the most comfortable.

The staff was kind and helpful. The grounds and living space were lovely and clean. The staff took the time to make sure all of our needs were met and that our loved one was in the right place. I highly recommend Brookdale Meadowmont!

I reached out to the Director, [name removed], on a Friday after 5pm. He facilitated a drop in, unexpected or planned visit to Meadowmont Memory Care in Chapel Hill area that same evening. Within 30 minutes of the call we were at the facility and greeted by a caregiver. She provided a tour to find all the residents together watching a movie. The other caregiver was on the couch with the residents and engaged with the residents. The facility was clean and organized. The caregivers were most impressive, attentive, inviting and demonstrated genuine care of their residents and facility. Memory Care is tough for all who need their family to be cared for but I felt a calm and caring team at Meadowmont. Thank you all for the tour. [name removed](I am an RN)

Brookdale Meadowmont is a beautifully manicured facility in the heart of an up and coming "downtown" area. We were immediately attracted to the spaciousness of our three room suite, and the natural sunlight that fills the rooms throughout the day. The sales rep was forthcoming about the construction that is nearly done across the street and to be honest, we can barely hear any outside noise. We love looking out the window at the courtyard below and watching the birds and squirrels on the beautiful pine trees. What we love about the place is the friendliness of many of the residents. They like to hang out in the common areas and dining room and act as unofficial welcoming crews. The nurses/staff are always around and very busy keeping the place tidy and smelling fresh, replenishing the snack station, making sure everyone is well cared for with on-time meds and regular friendly check-ins. It's a highly personalized experience. Your loved one will be very safe and happy here.

My mom experienced health issues unexpectedly early and was unable to live on her own any longer. We looked at just about every option in the Chapel Hill area and fell in love with Brookdale Meadowmont. Now that she has moved in, we have not been disappointed! The staff is just fantastic! They actively reach out to my mom to make sure that she is aware of any activities that are happening, and they couldn't be more friendly and helpful! The residents get to go to lunch bunch each Tuesday, and there are other activities and outings as well. The staff worked really hard recently and held an on-site carnival for residents and families complete with snow cones, popcorn, and a dunk tank! The rooms are clean and spacious, and the kitchenette has been really wonderful since my mom loves having her cup of coffee in the morning. I couldn't more highly recommend Brookdale Meadowmont. The highest praise that I can give is that my mom says that it feels like home.

What a gem of a facility! You could tell the staff is dedicated to the residents. They know each one by name and have shared experiences. The residents just lit up when the Sales Manager, [name removed] engaged them in conversation. And the Director, [name removed], took extra time to help her residents. What a special favorite. I also appreciated [name removed] help (from A Place for Mom) in assisting in locating options for my M-I-L.

Moving is hard no matter what age. My 88 year old friends move was no exception. Once we found Brookdale at Meadowmont, the move became easier. The sales representative was a god send. He was kind, knowledgeable, patient & accepting no matter what happened. He definitely went the extra mile. Brookdale staff was inviting & friendly. The facility was clean with fun activities for the residents. The paperwork was grueling but a necessity. I feel the Brookdale staff helped to make this hard move tolerable. Thank you, Brookdale!

Our visit to Brookdale Meadowmont was Very Informative and all our questions were addressed. [name removed] and the staff at Brookdale were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable regarding Brookdale! It is a very nice facility!

My loved one is a resident at Brookdale Meadowmont and his experience at this facility has been great, overall. Except for the food. I haven't tried it, but my loved one seems to think that it's good enough but not amazing. I would recommend this facility to others. My loved one's room is always clean and tidy. The facility never smells and it feels homie. The staff is friendly. My loved one seems happy here.

I toured this facility yesterday and was well impressed! The common rooms and private rooms well maintained and not at all "institutional". More importantly, the caretakers were all very friendly; not all rushed in their duties and seemed to know the residents by name. I was told that the retention rate for the staff was exemplary. They never contract employees from outside agencies and UNC nursing students are regularly employed there...no burnout here, just lots of enthusiasm, I would imagine. I highly recommend looking into Brookdale Meadowmont for your elders needing assisted living or memory care.

An informational interview was set up by A Place for Mom to two Brookdale senior care communities. The visit to Brookdale Meadowmont was wonderful, it felt like a visit to a friend’s home. I could have talked to [name removed](sales rep) for hours, and met [name removed] and other staff as well. I was impressed with the garden and walkpath, the room size and the library! Patient room size was more than ample. The patient/residents all looked happy and they waved as I passed by. Good feelings from this place!

Brookdale Meadowmont has exceeded all of our expectations. The staff is outstanding - professional, friendly, caring, and respectful of both residents and families. When we have had questions or needed guidance, the staff have been so quick to respond and so helpful with their input. We highly recommend this community.

This was the first time we have been here to visit a longtime friend. All of the residents and staff that we got to meet were so friendly. This really felt like a homelike environment when we came to visit. I was able to have a meal with her and it was delicious. We were served in courses just as if we had gone back five years and were able to go to a restaurant together, which was our absolute favorite thing to do together. We look forward to returning.
