Dad hates the food. That's my only piece of info. I like the rec lady, but she's only one and the activities are mainly focused on non active folks. No outings. Whole system is bad unless you're able to pay 11k a month. The Addison does pretty good considering

October 8, 2024We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Your input is important to us, and we are here if you would like to share more about your experience.
The facilities are top notch - newly renovated, attractive. The staff is excellent; warm and friendly, they know patient by name and recognize family members. They are pretty responsive to needs and requests. I would like to see someone staffing the reception desk more frequently, and the monthly activities calendar needs to be in large print so residents can read it. But overall, one of the best facilities I've seen in the Triangle.

They have one care giver to 6 residents. Most in memory care really need much more attention My husband has falling 3 times and gotten 9 staples in his head and got a brain bleed I have the VA helping me with 20 hours a week one on one care that come into Addison Monday thur Friday 1pm to 5pm to make sure he doesn't fall. I really can't afford to put him in a more expensive facility and from what I hear under staff and under care everywhere is pretty common. For the most part, the older staff are more attentive, whereas the younger staff are on the phone and lazy. Also men are not attended to as fast or as often as the women. I just feel I have to spend more time at Addison to care for him myself. They tell me he refuses showers so they cannot make him shower however it's always the young staff that tell me this and Addison gives the residents different care givers every single day.

My mom was briefly a resident at The Addison. The staff seemed decent. Communication with the family was lacking. The move in process was okay (the maintenance guy was great). The staff did not seem very attentive to my loved one. Her room had old food in it. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend the facility to others.

I would recommend to others. Overall, we are happy with the experience our mother is having, given her condition. The work of managing the memory care facility has got to be difficult and I appreciate them keeping her safe. Can't expect much more.

May 3, 2024Our residents love when family and friends come to visit. So do we! Thanks for dropping by and leaving us this great review.
The Addison stay was for respite care and he was there for 2 weeks. During that time it went very well. Based on the experience I could recommend The Addison to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

My loved one is currently a resident at The Addison and the experience has been very good, so far. They recently worked with me to lower my loved one's base rate so that she can stay there longer. I would recommend this facility to others. My only concern is the turnover with the RNs, but the rest of the staff is stable.

April 19, 2024We hope your loved one is truly enjoying all the enriching activities and friendships that our community has to offer. Thank you for your review.
We enjoy The Addison because the staff is friendly. They speak when they see you and are available for any questions. The facility is clean and has plenty of space for my grandmother to get in her daily steps. The rooms are a great size to keep her from feeling closed in. It was the only facility that we toured that felt like home. I would recommend this facility to anyone searching for a new home for their loved one. I sleep well at night because I feel like we made the best decision.

The Memory Care staff go over and above getting to know the residents. [name removed], the Director of Memory Care is awesome! She treats every resident like they are a member of her family. She is so caring and wants what’s best for each resident. She is knowledgeable and very professional. She is a role model for less experienced staff and if she sees someone struggling she is on it! This has been a hard transition for us and she has definitely made it a bit easier! The Addison is very clean environment as well.

September 28, 2023Making your loved one smile makes us smile too. We’re so glad they’re here. Thanks for all your positive comments.
My loved one was previously a resident at The Addison for a short time and her experience at this facility was okay. I feel that they need to be more attentive to the residents. My loved one was not showered like she should have been. There was also food in her room that should have been thrown away. They did not seem very attentive to things in general.

If you feel we have fallen short in this instance, please accept our apologies or reach out to our Executive Director, Vatrice, at vdavis@seniorlifestyle.com or Regional Director of Operations, Ricardo, at rgomez2@seniorlifestyle.com to discuss further.
I will rate all questions a 5. The staff at the time my mother in law was there (2019) was the most helpful and friendly. They did have some turnover, but that us to be expected. The thing that stuck out most about The Addison was the cleanliness of the facility and the interest of care for their residents. I would absolutely recommend this community, As long as the administrative staff that was there in 2019 is still there. Otherwise I would not know much about their service, etc.

They were great with intake, and marketing. There was a number of issues. They did have a lot of residents, or staff. My loved one received minimal care, and their level of awareness and conscientiousness dropped after being there. It looks good on the outside, but they did not have a lot for my loved one to do. They did not have padding on the floor, or rails to keep the residents safe. They had hardwood floors, and it did not seem safe. My loved one tried to get out of bed, and fell, which caused serious injuries. She ended up passing. They refused to give me a refund. What they represented, you did not get. I would not recommend anyone going here.

June 13, 2023First, we are deeply sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. We take our role in the provision of care and services to our residents very seriously and are disappointed to hear of your experience. If you’re open to discussing further, please contact Vatrice, our Executive Director at vdavis@seniorlifestyle.com or Ricardo, our Regional Director of Operations at rgomez2@seniorlifestyle.com.
We toured with a few different places and actually liked The Addison the best. We would have chosen this facility, but they did not have any double rooms available at the time, so we picked another facility that did.
Response from The Addison
May 17, 2023Thank you for considering our community. Along with personal care, giving our residents an active, uplifting lifestyle is at the heart of what we do. We’re grateful for your review.
I toured this facility and would NOT recommend it based off of our tour. I don't know if we just caught them on a bad day, but we stood in the lobby for about 15 minutes before we were even greeted. The maintenance man is the one who gave us our tour. We weren't able to get information on pricing or anything while there for the tour. We were not impressed with the process or the facility.
Response from The Addison
March 2, 2023Earning the respect and confidence of our residents, their families and our visitors matters to us. Please be assured we are following up on the comments you have shared.
The tour felt cold and was not very friendly. They went through the motions and showed us the usual things, but they didn't seem very interested in having us pursue the admission. Also, when I asked around in our social/professional network, I heard a general consensus of severe staffing shortages and poor care.
Response from The Addison
September 16, 2022We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your visit, but your feedback helps us find ways to improve. If you ever want to take a second look, just let us know.
Very affordable, but very limited on staff. Currently having staffing issues, that need some improvement. Did not provide the care that feel would be suitable, hard to reach director of nursing. Admin team was easier to reach and was very helpful. Feedback from staffing was very delayed or would have to wait and or chase down information when contacted facility. Nurse call button was very difficult for her push.

I thought The Addison was a very nice place. I really liked it. The only thing that tipped the scales toward another facility was location (proximity to where we live and to our parents' group of doctors).

A Place for Mom has scored The Addison 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
