Staff was very helpful and move in went smoothly. They urgently needed to move in, but couldn't get their desired apartment at that time. Once one became available they were able to move them into that apartment. Then my father's condition declined and we were able to move him into assisted living while my mother stayed in her apartment. She is able to visit him and eat with him daily, but can continue to participate in independent living activities. I highly recommend the facility. They feel very comfortable there.... Read more

They are at times slow to make repairs. However, compared to all of the other places we saw and read about they were priced about the same and we definitely think Waltonwood is better than the rest."

The staff was very easy to work with, very sensitive to our needs and very helpful with all the things I may not realize I would need. Communication was excellent and my texts and calls during the process were always answered promptly. It was a difficult move at the time, but now my parents are thriving and have friends, activities and a safe and comfortable way to live. The physical and occupational therapists are the best. They enjoy the food and I am happy that I can rest assured they are receiving healthy food and meals that are good for them. They have taken advantage of the 15 minute assistance from the nurses or caregivers and also the nurse practitioner to visit when unable to get to the doctor. We would definitely recommend the facility. It has been great!

I took a tour of Waltonwood Cary during my search for an Independent Living facility for myself. This facility and my tour were both great! The atmosphere was nice. The facility was very clean. Everyone was very friendly.
Waltonwood - Cary has been very easy to work with - sensitive to all of our needs and individual situation. My parents love the food, the socialization, the activities and the grounds, apartments and amenities are beautiful. I felt peaceful and safe while visiting and the entire facility is clean. All of the staff and physical therapists and occupational therapists are wonderful and very engaging. They remember everything and that is so meaningful.

The cleanliness got a 3 because there is a lot of construction going on at the moment. Based off of our personal experience, I would recommend Waltonwood - Cary to others who are looking.

My parents moved in at a crucial time and my mother required back surgery one week after the move. The staff helped us get them in and the support services like home care and physical therapy were arranged quickly. Everything they need other than some medical specialists is right there in their building.

Agree with other reviews about the lack of care in the memory care facility and can not recommend. Our mother lived there for three months before being transferred to another facility . Area was short staffed and care giving lax. Caregivers did not seem to care about their job or taking care of mom. Basic grooming suffered. . Bathrooms did not have clean linens when needed. Personal clothing (clearly labeled with name) went missing. . Telephone and e-mail inquires were not responded to for one or two days and only after multiple attempts. Room condition was poor with flooding and electrical outages. Our reality was a very different story form the rosy picture painted before move in.

The interaction with the staff is good. They are doing a good job. They are going under rennovation, so alot of things are closed, and is not available to the residents. The value for the money is good. They pay attention to the residents. It's a smaller community, and more centrally located. I would recommend to other families.

Staffing shortages have impacted several areas- maintenance being the worst. Parents love the food but basically skip most breakfasts as they serve carbs and fruit. The concierge doctor service they partner with has been a bit of a disappointment- poor communication and follow up, high co-pay. The PT service they partner with us AMAZING. Its a bit like high school... As It's a bit difficult for newcomers to make friends as there are existing groups that stick together... In general, we are very happy with their overall experience and glad we made the move.

We have been very pleased with Waltowood Cary. I think they have navigated all of the current problems with short staffing and various things as best as they can. It is hard but they are on top of things and always keep us well informed on what is going on. They have dealt with recent covid cases well too and we are grateful for that - they seem to have a good handle on things. They have had a hard time retaining fitness teacher but during those times they still have video classes. The activities director has stepped in and is teaching those now until the new teacher gets in. We really appreciate that they have not cancelled anything and find ways to accommodate so that the promises that were made up front about the amenities are kept. She really absolutely loves the fitness classes. The food is fabulous, mom raves about it. When she first moved in they had an ambassador and she helped her navigate everything and find a place to sit in the dining room which was great to help her integrate into the community. They are in the middle of a remodel so they are making some nice updates to the common areas. She has got a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment that is about 10000 square feet and has french doors that open up to the parking lot - it is amazing. I have been overjoyed and we are so happy with our choice. It is a fantastic facility and we are so fortunate that mom is happy and safe here.

They have a single sink in the bathroom that was small. It was a nice community that served a continental breakfast.
I went into the tour expecting Waltonwood - Cary to be newer and really nice, but it just seemed too big. And their memory care unit seemed a little bit darker and not as sunny as the place we chose. I also wasn’t able to see a room since they have a limited number and all were occupied at the time.
I thought Waltonwood - [name removed] was very good. It was well organized and very nice. The environment was just too stuffy for my dad's personal preference.
When you walk into Waltonwood it feels like a fancy hotel. It was more money than we could afford and the location was too far , but it was a very nice place.
Beautiful facility with a warm and friendly atmosphere

I would recommend this community for your loved ones. The staff and residents are very friendly. The residents have even knocked on my loved one's door to encourage them to come down for dinner and activities. My loved one is happy here.

The staff is very friendly. The residents are too. The therapy services provided by Legacy (physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy) are all top notch. The living spaces are good. My loved ones are in a 2-bedreoom, not quite 1100 square foot apartment. My only criticism is there's really not much room for a dining space / furniture, even a little 2-person table. But they enjoy the food. It tastes good and has a nice variety. Breakfast and supper are provided, although my mother would rather they offer lunch instead of breakfast. My only other criticism is cell phone reception is poor. That's true for everyone on the first and second floors, although I think upper floors are better. If they could have some sort of booster, that would be great.
