Too slow in any request or a response. Staff not knowledgeable sufficiently; always deferring to someone else.

Absolutely too many turn-overs in staff. Request for maintenance services archaic and nothing is on hand for “fixes”; always need to be ordered; that takes forever. Furniture in Memory Care is dirty; needs furniture that can be “wiped” with disinfectant. Need deep housekeeping in all levels of care; presently just a light overall Since I have had 2 family members in AL and Memory Care, the food has always been an issue. In AL people were always asking for breads, butter, some condiments to enhance meals. In Memory Care I would not want to eat the meals. They seem to put food on plates with no regard to making it look appealing.

Our family's experience with Independent Living and Memory Care

It's quite expensive, especially for memory care. (One parent in independent living and one in memory care). Quality of care in memory care is hit or miss as well - some great staff and some not very good. I think the independent living is really good - great food - the dining room is like a restaurant with lots of variety and good quality. The apartments are well set up. The staff in independent living are all very friendly and seem to know everyone. It's very welcoming. We really like that my mother can walk over to memory care almost any time to visit him.

Unfulfilled Promises

We picked this community, because it was new and presented a very different care situation, dining and attention to residents that really isn't there. The Reserve has high turn over in the staff but often it's a temp person for the day helping.

We picked this community, because we knew some people there. Also the size was good - things were very accessible. Dining and amenities all in the building. We would recommend to other families. Initial issues with staffing and dining are being addressed but not up to par. Lots of staff and management turnover.

Some Turnover but Good Place Overall and Newer Facility

Fairly new facility, apartments are a little more spacious and more modern. Tons of services on site. Great outdoor locations. Staff is good, but there has been quite a bit of turnover. Dining is more expensive for independent than I previously experienced but food was good. Assisted-living food needs to be improved but they are working on improving it. In the short time my parents have been there since February I've seen the following staff change: Cleaning, company that makes on-site doctors visits, pharmacy and head of assisted living. But location is great. They have a movie theater, and staff is real friendly.

Would recommend. Wonderful staff. Meals could use some improvement.

We have no way to compare with other facilities. All I can say is if I wanted to be anywhere other than my own home. The Reserve is adequate but needs to consider upgrading the meals. The staff is wonderful, and that goes for the maintenance crew as well.

Very Nice Community, The Food Is The Biggest Issue

This is a nice community. The staff communication with the family is good, as they listen to feedback. It may take awhile to get things accomplished though. The food is horrible. The food is always served cold and not tasty for the residents. The dinner is served in the main dining room. The bistro is available for breakfast and lunch. It would nice to have a more friendly atmosphere in the dining room to be able to find other residents who are social. The dining room staff could use more training.

Check It Out For Yourself and Read the Fine Print and Ask Lots of Questions

I would recommend you look at the community and see if this would be the right fit for your loved one. The staff sends emails out to the family and they are accommodating to calls and questions from family as well. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer in the apartment. There is weekly housekeeping included for the resident's rooms.

Community Tour

The tour was a 5/5, with an excellent, most updated facility. Loved the technology available in apartments, but the "spend down" food system was a deal breaker for my parents. They did not want the stress of potentially using it all before the end of the month.

IF you love your family..look somewhere else!

The amount of negative things about this place is flooding my head I don't even know where to begin. So upsetting having to witnessed senior residents at the memory care being treated so inhumanely. I couldn't believe that families are paying this facility huge amount of money to NOT care for their families. Staff are not properly trained, I see new faces almost everyday. One resident had a fall not once but 4 times in 2 weeks that left the person immobile. One was grabbed so hard and toss on the sofa like a rag doll. The language that some of the staff used are considered ghetto and should not be allowed around the residents. So loud, obnoxious and lazy. Although not all are bad apples we had a pleasure of interacting with few good ones, namely; [four names removed]. We observed that these people do really care for their residents, they would sit and walk with them and not leave them alone wandering in the facility. Sense anomalies going on with ur fam, request for the video!

The Reserve should be your last resort

a majority of the staff at The Reserve are not trained, nor have the heart for assisted living and helping the elderly. there was no support with upper management; and I am confident that my expectations were not above and beyond or extravagant in nature. I gave this community a lot of chances before we made the decision to move my loved ones elsewhere. there is an extreme lack of staff here, which resulted in a high turnover rate. my loved ones saw new faces almost everyday. the revolving door of different staff members created a lack of patience with my loved ones and the inability to connect with them on a personal level. one of my loved ones was in need of memory care and some of the newer staff would often upset her by telling her she couldn't wear a particular item of clothing - something that did not effect her health or care. they never took the time to learn what she likes or dislikes or figuring out the best way to approach her care and needs. if she said "no" to something, she was often left in the room with not further attempts to engage her in whatever it was they asked - from activities to using the restroom. we noticed a lot of the staff members on their phones, on social media and not actively caring for residents. I truly believe that when management has low expectations for staff and lets them get away with things out of fear of losing people; that shows in the quality of care and service. where my loved ones are now, they have only been there for 1 month, but we all love it. from the food to the staff, everything has been a complete 180. the management there has high expectations for staff and it really shows in how the residents are being treated. I have never seen any staff member on their phones. they make it a priority to engage and interact residents in activities and conversations. they don't allow them to just sit in their rooms all day. when we initially moved into The Reserve, the food was great and the staff seemed okay. they had a couple lockdowns, and it seems like the level of care and service slowly declined from there. I blamed Covid for a while, but quickly came to realize that Covid wasn't the case. prior to The Reserve, my loved ones stayed at home but could no longer care for themselves. we made the difficult decision of moving them into an assisted living community. they spent 6 months here and from our experience, I would not recommend this community to others. it pains me to leave a negative review; but if my bestfriend were to ask if they should move their loved one in, I would have to tell them "only as a last resort". if your loved one(s) are not independent and need assistance throughout the day, I would chose this community ONLY if it's your very last option. it's important to note that The Reserve is a beautiful community. the rooms are lovely, and the hallways look very nice. but those visual things aren't taking care of your parents. the staff and management are.

I have lived in this fine community for about two months. I was apprehensive about living in this type of facility. That all disappeared almost immediately as I felt welcome and accepted by the residents and the staff. I know it is a great place to spend the remainder of my life, and not to feel the loneliness of old age. Now live with people who are in the same time of life as I am.
