The memory care is wonderful. The residents are cared for by a very loving staff. Everyone of the staff members knows what is going on. They keep family informed of any changes or needs. The supplies that you bring for your loved one goes into the closet in their room and are only used for your loved one. The food is very tasty and nutritious. They give top notch care with love. They have activities, meals, and lots of rest. I can not thank the staff enough for taking care of my Mom. She always looked good and was happy and comfortable. Thank you a place for Mom for helping me find Carriage Crossing and Thank you Carriage crossing for the great care and love you gave my Mom.
This facility is unique. Mid 2015 it was purchased by a new owner, who is also the Director and she has improved the Home dramatically, with fresh paint, new carpet and hardwoods. It is a smaller facility that has a very residential feel. The rooms are big, the staff are friendly, caring and attentive to the residents needs...and the price is more affordable than the more corporate facilities. I was happy to have my Father living in and being cared for at this facility.
My husband ended up at Dogwood Forest in Grayson. It was expensive but I would give it a 10+. The food is so important to the residents, the high light of their day. They have a 'real' chef there and I ate many meals there myself. So number one is meals. They also had awesome entertainment. Sometimes it was the staff other times outside people. They go above and beyond the standards. You should check it out yourself.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is an establishment that houses two or more seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its occupants with 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide healthcare services for seniors who are unable to properly take care of their needs because of the effects of aging.
This type of facility is a familiar and comfortable care choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will usually admit individuals 55 and above rarely heard of in senior care regarding alternate care types. A significant portion of nursing home inhabitants are seniors who have mental or physical disabilities, have incontinence issues, require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, or experience difficulty seeing and hearing. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from abuse and neglect, be free from discrimination, have your representative notified about your care, and make complaints. Many occupants of nursing homes might have behavioral issues, which can consist of a tendency to wander, verbal outbursts, or resisting care. Nursing homes are required to provide emergency dental services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), pharmaceutical services, and routine personal hygiene items to residents. Types of amenities and services offered at nursing homes might include care coordination and case management, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), friendly visitor programs, and intravenous or nutrition therapy.
