Not much communication from staff to family. Have tried numerous times to reach out to the wellness staff but they never return your calls or email. Still have no idea if physical therapy is an option for our mom as the staff have not communicated that info with us.

It was a good place to keep someone with memory issues that was otherwise able to function fairly independently - we appreciated it was a locked down facility without having to put him in memory care.

Response from The Phoenix at Tucker
July 3, 2024Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback.
I like - in general and in terms of overall care - the value we get for the price (lower than most every place we found in the area). The least? It seems like there's a lot of turnover in the staff that works with the residents. Especially on the weekends but... in general it seems there are always/often new people dealing with the patients. Finally, the food - although the quality and variety seem fine - it seems they don't take into account the residents dietary needs... as in the case of my father - a diabetic. It seems it's like, 'one size fits all.' Most of the places we considered in this area were similar in terms of services and facilities. It's just this was the PERFECT location and the price was a bit cheaper - actually several hundred dollars a month cheaper than some/most of the places we considered.

September 7, 2024Thank you; we appreciate your feedback!
While our loved one was in a rehab facility, our family discussed needs and concerns and composed a list of questions to ask when we visited assisted living communities. Armed with our list and that of A Place for Mom, we visited three communities before visiting The Phoenix at Tucker. By this time, we had ruled out two, for various reasons, but were very much interested in the remaining one. At Phoenix we met with the Community Engagement Director and the Wellness Director. We were very much impressed by their attention not only to physical needs, but also social and emotional needs. We were impressed that all of their staff is dementia practitioner trained. We liked their thinking outside the box to encourage residents to participate in various activities. During the tour, we noted the interaction between staff and residents and talked with some residents and family members. We came away knowing we had a difficult decision to make between Phoenix and the previous facility.

February 29, 2024Mary Ann, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to The Phoenix at Tucker! Thanks again for the recommendation, and have an amazing day!
We toured The Phoenix at Tucker during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility had VERY nice common areas. However, the bedroom was way too small of a space. Especially for the price.

I really enjoyed the community. The quality of the food needs improve, and I would like to see more activites. We picked this community, because of the price point, location and cleanliness. The people are very friendly I would recommend to other families.

According to our loved one the options with the meals could be improved - sometimes it is a small sandwich and a bag of chips and that may be the only choice.

April 18, 2023We really appreciate your feedback. Your recommendation means so much to us and we're always looking to improve our community standards. Have a great day!
The location, décor, and staff accessibility at inquiry really stood out to us here. The staff are very friendly and try to be as helpful as they can given their workload. My mom is recovering from a fracture and hasn't been able to participate in the varied activities offered. But she has been improving with the PT and OT offered in house. I have and will continue to recommend them to friends and family.

April 18, 2023Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
Please notice that all the good reviews of this place were given over 5 years ago when it was owned by a different group. Since then it has gone downhill drastically. We put my mother in Phoenix and she stayed for only one year. They did not take care of her and the staffing was if not illegal it was definitely complete negligence. There were times when we went looking for a staff member and the only person we could find in the building was on the front desk. Often my mother who needed assistance was not put to bed and sometimes not not taken down for meals. After a constant complaining we finally decided for my mother's safety sake to move her to a different place. Don't be fooled by the good looks of the facility and the people who greet you when you come in. They are not the ones who do the care and the ones who do won't be there long because of the constant turn over.

November 1, 2022Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your visit. We wish you all the best. We appreciate the feedback and will use this information to make improvements.
The level of attentiveness at this community and what we are praying is not what I was expecting it could be better. When we first moved my mother in it was great and the staff were very attentive to my loved one. They got new management and everyone left and things just changed. She was supposed to be getting a higher level of care and they are not helping with things that they are supposed to be helping with. The community is phenomenal and some of the staff are great but the care has greatly declined. Its like the backbone of the facility right now is not great, the kitchen staff and cleaning staff seem to be committed more than the other staff.

Our experience has been really good so far, the staff and the care services are wonderful. They have the proper lift systems like a hoyer to assist our loved one when needed. The community is newer so it is beautiful, very nice and overall we would recommend to others.
This community looked very nice. It was a good experience but there was another community that we liked better.

December 13, 2021Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We would love to know a little more about what your deciding factor was and what we could have done better or different. We are here for you anytime.
This community has very friendly staff and they were very convenient. The fact that I could go any time to see my loved one really made a difference for me. If I woke up in the middle of the night and did not feel right I could go see my loved one and this really made a difference for me.

I'm not sure why this place shows good reviews... At least for the memory care units. It used to be The Orchard in Tucker. Our loved one received sub-par care while there. Medication mistakes, cuts and bruises that no one knows how they came to be, communication issues (lack thereof), laundry issues, bed bugs, caretakers that lose people...to name a few. Also, the food looks Nothing like the pics. I know some places are worse, but this one is definitely not as good as they appear. Sure, the decor and landscaping are beautiful, but I'd rather have good care for my loved one. Once we moved our loved one out, they've improved and we are much happier and less worried.

Newer facility and lots of great open space for the seniors to gather. While their rooms are nice we needed a shared room and felt the rooms were too small to share.

January 17, 2020Thank you so much!
My mother lived at the Orchard for 2 years before she passed and we could not have been happier with her living there. [Removed], the nurses and all the staff took great care of her and put our minds at ease knowing she was being cared for at all times. She was constantly being monitored and we would receive reports as to how she was doing. In fact she really blossomed there becoming more energetic, more aware and overall just so much healthier. It made her quality of life so much better for her last 2 years. We cannot recommend Orchard of Tucker enough for your loved ones.

A Place for Mom has scored The Phoenix at Tucker 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
