Staff members receive education in a number of fields. These areas include emergency procedures, financial management, fire safety disaster preparedness, and nutrition. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include opening dosage packaging, residents may self-administer medication, and assistance with reading labels. In total, there can be no more than 2 residents to a room. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include responsibility for the safety of the resident when in the community, assistance with activities of daily living, medication administration, and dietary services. Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1115 managed care Long-Term Services and Supports CHOICES program.
