Overall it has been a very positive experience for my Mom at Heritage Assisted Living Fountain City. The facility is reasonably clean and the staff is very friendly. I believe the care has and continues to be as well as could be received in any assisted living facility. The meals are provided family style and the facility is a great value for the cost. I am a retired nurse and continue to be very pleased with the care although as in any facility some days are better than others. Overall I can't say enough good things about the staff and facility.

It is a much needed place that is at least less expensive than others but it lacks a lot bc of that. It helped us tremendously in that way but the care was not as good as I really would have wanted but we couldn't ask for much with what we were paying and my dad was actually in the last few months of his life so we needed a place. There were days they have him wrong doses of medicine and many of the residents would complain while I was there about the food they were being fed. There were times they told dad they didn't have enough for him to have more to eat when he was actually hungry so I took food over there for them to make extra biscuits and things for people.

The building itself may be older, but the staff and the service make up for it. They're so friendly and helpful. That's what sold me on the place. There are also plenty of activities.

What stuck out to us about Heritage Assisted Living was the location as well as the value for the money. It is assisted living but set up more like a nursing home. They all have a room with bathrooms, closets, tv, etc. You do have to bring your own furniture though. The community rooms like the dining room, living room etc. are great places to mingle, they also have very nice grounds where residents can go enjoy the outside. I would recommend this facility to others.

What stuck out to us most with Heritage was the value for the money, it was great. The pay is all inclusive which is very nice because you know exactly what amount you will be paying each month. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

The residents are allowed to have dogs on premises. There is one dog that can be too loud and barks quite often. There are holes near the sidewalk because of the dog, and this is a concern because of those residents that uses walkers. The staff are wonderful to work with and care for the residents.
