Types of care available in Getzville, NY
The people and the care here are really good, I love it. I'm kind of bored at times, but that's because I'm picky about the activities that I choose to participate in that the facility offers. There are so many staff that I liked, they are all good. They keep everything clean, from the outside to the bathrooms and the rooms. I don't have to cook the meals so that's what I like the most. They also have an awesome menu with a good variety of meals to choose from. Everything has been good and they have been very good at keeping me informed.
The staff at River Road are very friendly and attentive to the residents. My sister in law enjoys the food and they have a variety to choose from. They have activities for the residents, however she does not participate in any. The community is well maintained inside and out.
The ambience is comfortable and not clinical like some others Staff is friendly and helpful, easy to work with No negatives to report

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is a facility that houses two or more persons who have no familial relation to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its residents around-the-clock care administered by registered nurses. These nurses offer health related services for people who cannot properly take care of themselves due to their aging.
Nursing homes are a familiar and comfortable living alternative for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly allow access to persons 55 and above which is uncommon for other senior care types. The most common mental issue effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their decision making abilities, memory function, and and their sense of familiarity. A significant number of nursing home residents are individuals who have mental or physical disabilities, require assistance with daily tasks such as getting dressed, have incontinence issues, or experience difficulty with vision and hearing. A significant amount of residents are bachelors or widows with circles of support, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), room and bed maintenance services, and medically-related social services to residents. Many occupants of nursing homes may have behavioral problems. These can consist of verbal outbursts, resisting care, or a tendency to wander.
