Brookdale Niagara (AL)

My Mother lived at Brookdale Niagara Enhanced Assisted Living Community for over a year. Her mobility and eyesight were failing. From conscientious aids, she received excellent help and care with showering, laundry, medication, and pain relief. Many were outstanding. She never missed breakfast, her apartment was kept clean, and many outings and events were planned. At the time my mom left the facility, the Management Team in place was top-notch and extremely approachable! I remember asking my Mom if she was happy living there and she answered "Yes, we're family." There were some "trials and errors" along the way, but always with the forward look to improving.

After dad passed away we all were overwhelmed but knew our dear Mother should not be living alone. We had toured and researched several places based upon recommendations from a place for mom. Brookdale Niagara Enhanced Assisted Living was our very top choice. We worked with the admissions director on the plan to have mom assessed at home by their RN. Thankfully it was a smooth easy process. The experienced and helpfulness of their team was so reassuring. Enhanced care was what mom needed and brookdale niagara was the place to be for great care. Mom is happy and my siblings and I are truly thrilled to see mom smiling, making friends and living a beautiful life. Thank you to all.

We chose Brookdale Niagara because of the location, friendliness, and cleanliness. We think they are slow to respond to potential medical issues, and getting straight answers can be tough. It is expensive for sure.

My mom needed more care really than Brookdale could provide. She suffered a few falls while there. I know she was on a special diet but the food was not appetizing to her. While they offered many activities, my mom did not participate

Beautiful place. Our neighbor is so happy. I guess we we hoping she would be content. What we were not expecting was how happy she truly is now. It is a miracle. The staff seem very involved and kind. Our friend is enjoying her time at Brookdale Niagara AL. Honestly we are so relieved. Thank you to APFM for recommending this darling place.

Our mom has been extremely happy at Brookdale Niagara Enhanced care. We transferred from another assisted living as mom needed more care than that community could provide. Our family has had a terrific experience so far. It’s been three months and mom has enjoyed the food and making new friends. The care is just great. Promises kept. We recently recommended Brookdale Niagara to our moms neighbor in Sanborn. Our family feel so happy that it all worked out.

We had a great experience. Promises kept. Dad was happy here. Kind staff. Clean nice place. Smaller style. We are all grateful. We would personally recommend to family and friends. The nurses were great and sharing info keeping us all up to date. Hospice care in his room made a huge difference for his passing. The caregivers were so good to him.

When we toured the facility we thought it ideal, - clean, ample suites, near home. Others had spoken highly of Brookdale. Our experience was otherwise. My father was there for three months and was sad and bored. The staff seemed overworked. They could not provide him with the services we were paying for. The RN left and was never replaced. Although they claim to provide enhanced care they could not when my father needed it. We were forced to find another facility. I would not recommend this facility at all

Recently my uncle who was 101 was a resident for 3 months. The sales pitch we received made us feel like it would be a great place. Unfortunately the care was not good and the activities were few. We had to ask repeatedly for services that were supposed to be included. He was unhappy the entire time. There was nothing to do at night so ended up going to bed at 7 every night. Most of the residents just stay in their rooms. He ended up going to the VA due to congestive heart failure where he received great care and was happy. He unfortunately went downhill quickly. Brookedale wouldn’t take him back with his needs even though that was in his contract because it is an enhanced facility. He went to Elderwood in Grand Island for 10 days till his passing. We received a sympathy card signed by everyone and flowers from Elderwood. We never heard anything from Brookedale. No card or phone call. I would never recommend this place and we are sad that his last months were spent there.

Great service. Terrific food. Caring staff. Good activities. Excellent nursing. Good communication. Little apartments make it very nice. Overall very happy. Would highly recommend to any family.

They have a calendar for activities. The living space is nice and bigger. They have an area, where you can sit and talk, which is very relaxing. They have all kinds of seating areas. It's a very welcoming environment. The staff is very helpful. It feels like home, especially how it's the set -up. It is a smaller community.

It started off with miscommunication or lack of knowledge, of what was needed for my loved one. I was paying for enhanced assisted living and they were not able to my assist loved one. There was lack of training with some of the staff. That was early on but now things is much better. The staff is friendly. Althouhg, there is sometimes a shortage of staff, I feel like everyone is trying to make it work. They are always willing to help and have been wonderful. My loved one is safe there. I have no negative things, to say about the place.

Happy with this decision. We did look at about 6 places but thought this community had everything we were looking for for our Dad. There is a little kitchenette, large bathroom with walk in shower, very large walk in closet, living room and good sized bedroom. Assisted living care is attached to the apartment but we can add on enhanced care services whenever dad needs them. This will likely keep him out of a nursing home which is exactly what we were hoping for him. Great first impression! Friendly kind staff, nurses and we met the Chef. They had an opening after only waiting a couple weeks but I would tell families to get there sooner than they need so things get better faster. NO complaints from Dad which is a first. We all feel very good about this place and ultimately our Dad is happy here.

Staff is always willing to do their best to make me comfortable, encourage and at times redirect. They keep us aware of any necessary needs/concerns along with/ zoom meetings to keep all residents families informed.

Brookdale Niagara is more of a smaller community, the most they ever have is around 50 residents so it provided more of that one on one care. Our loved one also seems very happy with the meals and dining service.

We chose Brookdale because they had a great marketing girl. There is a lot of turnover of staff. The communication could use improvement, you have to call multiple times to get a call back and it is hard to get answers. They have been good about having zoom meeting since we cannot go inside of the facility. They do a great job with her care and they have a lot of activities provided. I have not been inside the facility due to covid, so my feedback is from my mother and talking to the staff members, My mother is very happy here and has made a lot of friends and I know she is safe.

They are trying their best with the activities, we do know they have bingo nights. We do think the value is fair and would recommend this community to others. However this is some disconnect which could be caused be the short staff, and we are not able to visit in the evenings because of the short staff.

When we were able to visit it was extremely clean, and we are very pleased with the staff members, When the weather is good we know they made every effort to get the residents out and about even during COVID. We have been very pleased with the care our loved one has been receiving.

The food is delicious. They happened to be having a buffet meal set up in the dining area when we walked in. We hadn’t made an appointment as we were just going and asking for a packet of info to pursue later for our mom. Well you would have thought we were the guests of honor. We were treated so kindly and graciously. My sister and I still cannot get over how sweet the managers, nursing staff, care givers and chef were. The atmosphere at Brookdale Niagara feels like a close family. We did find out that they are the only Enhanced Assisted Living in all of Niagara County. This is actually what my mom needs. She is already struggling with walking and at 92, I think it would be short sighted of us to not consider a longer term plan. I’m grateful we reconsidered our plan for Mom. At this point just rebuy Assisted Living would mean we would have to move our mom in a very short period of time. I can see now why everyone loves this place. We are starting the short process now to get mom on the list. One thing that stuck out to us is that we felt zero pressure from the saleswoman. Our experience stopping in at three other places was very different. We felt that they all really wanted to help us, guide us if that makes sense and wanted the best for our beloved mom. We both highly recommend Brookdale Niagara Enhanced Assisted Living. They are truly experienced professionals.
