Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Comm

This facility is kept clean and tidy, but the most important thing is that the staff are tremendous. They are caring and helpful, and always keep you well informed. I recommend them without qualification.

Unfortunately, mom passed away and is no longer at Westwood but her time there was incredibly positive. Everyone our family came in contact with was kind, supportive, caring and patient with all of us, especially mom. Some very specific people who deserve recognition are; [name removed] and [name removed]( administrators) [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed] (in the dining room), [name removed]! Each person made strong connections with my brother and I as we navigated our mom's time there. As a matter of fact, I still stay in touch with most of them even though mom has been gone 8 months. The facility is absolutely beautiful! So bright, clean and welcoming. The value for the cost is amazing with a variety of activities to accommodate anyone. Providing nutritious meals with options made mom happy as well. I loved how the staff would provide "family" dinners on holidays as it made it easy on residents who had difficulty traveling outside the building. My brother and I are forever grateful to the outstanding staff for putting us at ease knowing mom was well cared for every single day. Honestly, I can't say enough positive words about Westwood Commons at 50 Union Square!!!!

My father has dementia and lived alone, so I needed to find a place for him where he would be safe. I have been so incredibly happy that we went with Westwood Commons. I was so surprised that after only two days of living there, as we walked through, so many of the staff members knew him by name and were joking around with him. The staff are so caring and responsive. He has really enjoyed being there. The rooms are spacious and the facility is clean, with wonderful staff. So glad I chose Westwood Commons in North Chili.

My brother in law was diagnosed with FTT (Failure to thrive ) and no longer can be on his own. We toured Westwood Commons and were extremely impressed with the facility. The application process was straight forward along with the client interview. The whole process took about a week from paperwork to moved in. The facilities are clean and bright with great staff. The food has been great and [name removed] is doing very well.

What a great place for mom! It's beautiful and homey. Lots of daily activities and the staff and residents are so friendly. They take care of meds, laundry and meals and provide peace of mind. Mom was very comfortable and happy here and it was a joy to visit!

I am pleased with both the dining room and the nursing assistance.

Westwood Commons was an "absolute life-saver" for the post-surgical, short-term respite care required by my sister. Having been surprised at my sister's needs, and having no practical plan for post-surgical care, we were most relieved and thankful that Westwood was able to provide immediate assistance, meeting twice with the hospital social worker, then very promptly helping us through the intake process. All the staff were very professional, friendly, and most helpful to our family. They also had the flexibility to adapt to my sister's rapidly changing needs and challenges. And I know that's not easy. I don't know how we'd have made it without Westwood!

My father has been a resident for almost a month now. He was extremely nervous and skeptical about moving into assisted living. He is adjusting really well. He is eating more regularly than when he was home by himself. He is socializing with others, which is improving his mental well-being.

My Uncle has been at Westwood Commons since last June of this year and myself and the family are very pleased with the care he has received. The initial application process was seamless, we toured the facility and were very impressed overall. We were ensured that my Uncle would be a good fit and they were absolutely right. It is a difficult decision to place a loved one outside the home but Westwood has provided such special care to my Uncle which gives us peace of mind with the decision that we made. The staff are very caring, friendly and approachable from the Administrator, Marketing Director to the Resident Techs and Maintenance who are always there when needed. This is by far the best place for our Uncle, he is safe, well cared for and has the socialization needed for all around good health. Westwood Commons is 5-star plus if looking for a community that treats your loved one with the utmost special care they deserve.

Our mom has been living at Westwood Commons in North Chili, NY for roughly a year and we couldn’t be happier with the care she has been receiving. The entire staff are top-notch, professional and dedicated. Most impressive is the level of compassion they show towards each resident and their families, which helps to put our minds at ease knowing mom is well cared for on a daily basis. We appreciate the updates we receive whenever a need arises such as a doctor visit, blood work or a fall. It’s also nice knowing there are daily activities for residents which include outings as well as in house activities. Such care is given in creating nutritious, healthy meals. The facility is beautifully maintained with a warm inviting atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. We have always been greeted with a smile in the brightly lit lobby. Thank you for providing a safe and loving home for mom.

Our father/father in-law/grandfather resided at Westwood for just under a year. We are very confident that it was the best thing we could have done for him at the time. It's a beautiful residence, with an exceptional staff and very well managed. We couldn't appreciate them at Westwood Commons in North Chili anymore than we already do. Our mother was previously in a Memory Care facility but she was running out of money and we began the search for a new home for her. Someone suggested that we visit Westwood Commons. Mom had been tested and had improved so that she could live in an assisted living facility. We visited Westwood and were impressed with the staff and facility and brought Mom for a visit too and she moved in soon after. Since then we feel we made the right decision. Mom is very happy, her room is lovely and she participates in the activities. We are confident that the staff keeps us in the loop and when we visit the facility is spotless and the staff are professional and friendly.

My Step Mom was in need of additional support and was no longer able to live on her own. Westwood Commons have given us the opportunity to take care of her without the constant fear for her safety. She has been able to make friends and become part of the Westwood family. We no longer worry about missed medications or meals and having her so much closer than her previous residence is a massive plus. The caring staff have communicated extremely well whenever the need arises and I know they are always there for her. I am so grateful that we found Westwood and the wonderful folks that work so hard every day for our family.

Thank you for all your hard work in keeping residents safe and healthy. Transitioning into assisted living after leaving my sister’s home has been tough. The staff however, have made it such an easier move. It has been eight months and my Mom has always loved the staff and their friendly demeanor and willingness to help the residents. Thank you.

We could not ask for a better place for our friend. Excellent care, nutritious meals, caring and compassionate staff. Clean and safe environment with many activities, outings and new found friends. There is a library and a small store where the residents can purchase items from with their account if they wish to. When our friend first arrived there we discovered that the hospital had his medications sent to a different facility. The staff at Westwood's worked diligently to get this straightened out for us. Our friend is very happy at his new home and we are grateful for all of the help and support we have received from the wonderful staff.

The staff at Westwood Commons are very friendly and helpful. They remind the residents when it's time to eat and their food is delicious. My mom has no complaints there. They have lots of activities every day that you can partake in. [Name removed], the activities Director, is great. She reminds the residents when they sign up for something and checks up on them if they are a no-show. The residents have every opportunity to fill their days. They also have outside activities like ice cream trips, lunches out on Fridays, scenic rides on their bus, movie matinees in the facility. The place is very clean, they clean your room and they make your bed. I would highly recommend Westwood Commons. I have peace of mind knowing that my mom is well taken care of. And I like going there to visit her. You can decorate their room any way you want. It's a great place and my mom is happy there!

Experience not reciprocal. Overall positive reciprocal except for the handling of medical issues. We found out upon check in that the visiting doctor would not take on a respite patient so when my parent contacted covid, there was no one to treat her. I also was not pleased with how they handled covid, returning residents to common areas without negative testing. It's no wonder my mom contracted covid there.

The people are amazing. My loved one was able to meet with podiatrist right away. Every single perosn, who had contact with loved one was great .They went above and beyond, to make my loved one feel welcomed. My loved They have a lot of activities, which includes trips and tie dye techniques. The administration made us feel welcomed, answered any questions, was always available for constant check-ups. I could tell that they loved their job, the way that they interacted with other reseidnets/familes. My loved one made new friends. It's a very welcoming, calm,warm and inviting place. We felt very confident knowing, our loved one would receive excellent care. Overall, I would highly recommend to those who need assisted living.
