A very home type welcoming atmosphere . From my observation very skilled caring staff, the handling of residents is gentle and careful. Yes, housekeeping is available. The extra curricular activities are great. They bring in families and residents seem to be comfortable and enjoy being there.

Coronado Villa Retirement Resort in Albuquerque, NM
4.9

I'm currently a resident at Coronado Villa Retirement Resort and I am thrilled to be living here. I certainly made the right choice to move here. The staff and the residents are all VERY friendly and call me by my name. My apartment is comfortable and is the right size. The cleanliness is super. They have more activities than I have time for! This is a great place to live and the ONLY facility in Albuquerque in which I would live. If Coronado Villa had not been here, I would still be living in Tucson.

Fairwinds - Rio Rancho
4.9

The staff was very welcoming. Any questions I had were answered promptly. The residents are friendly and inclusive. There are activities to satisfy the interests of almost anyone. There are two socials a week that are well attended. This is one of the cleanest independent living facilities I have seen. One advantage is that there is also an assisted living side of the building. These folks are integrated into the general population for meals, activities and socials. I love the layout of my apartment.

Los Lunas, New Mexico

Independent Living

For seniors who would wish to live primarily without assistance but would like the convenience of having daily tasks and responsibilities handled by professionalls, an Independent Living Community may be the perfect fit. Basic needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between locations, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent care providers. There are an assortment of advantages and costs to keep in mind when selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in the care plan: private phone, parking, transportation, Waiting list deposit, laundry, wellness program, initial assessment fee, and field trips. The benefits that pertain to independent living include transportation, laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, golf course, security guards, community activities, and private rental hall.
