My dad had a wonderful stay. I never thought I would be able to take him home again, but he's home now because of the great care the staff takes of their residents. I would recommend this place!

Thomas F Taylor Towers in Westland, MI
5.0 / 5.0

This is the cleanest and prettiest section 8 building I have ever seen. My mother moved from another senior tower in the area to Taylor Towers and we were amazed at the difference in amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have strict rules and guidelines for resident behavior which was wonderful to see compared to my mother's former building. We waited two years to get my mother off the wait list and into an apartment. It was well worth the wait. She is so happy!

Complete guide to independent living

Inkster, Michigan

Independent Living

For those who wish to live primarily without assistance but wish for the convenience of having chores and housekeeping taken care of by professionalls, an Independent Living Community might be the perfect choice. Occupants can continue to use their free time as they see fit while their meals are prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a number of costs and benefits to keep in mind while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in your care plan: private phone, field trips, parking, move-in fee, housekeeping, initial assessment fee, cable TV, and transportation. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, healthcare center, laundry service, game/TV room, golf course, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, and beauty salon & barber shop.
