They are very welcoming and it's best for an elderly person who is fairly independent and mobile. Also I really like the location. Very close to the hospital. My Mom has fallen a couple times and they've been very attentive The staff is very friendly and helpful. I especially like the maintenance man, [name removed]. He goes above and beyond. It gives me peace that it's Catholic. I love the images of our Blessed Mother on the grounds and how easy it is to take the sidewalk to the church.

we toured Villa Marie and we didn't care for it. they don't have an overnight staff, as they all leave at 5-6pm. the dining rooms and common areas can only be accessed via skywalk or breezeway - meaning all the highways are outside in a glass enclosure. the enclosure(s) don't come with heated flooring either. we chose another community because we didn't like the setup of the community, it just didn't have what we were looking for.
We had a good tour with Villa Marie but it was not going to work out because they are not staffed 24/7.
I just moved mom out of Villa Marie. After two years of living there because of the current management team. [Name removed], the current resident manager there now is very difficult to work with and most residents are intimidated by her. Very slow to react to situations needing urgent attention. She communicates by email and will not give out her mobile phone number like her predecessor. If you have something urgent, good luck. The food being served is not the same food that was served when mom initially moved in. Low nutritional value and very inexpensive to make and low quality. Staff members that quit or were fired by management have not been replaced. The rooms are only cleaned every other week and it is not thorough cleaning. The rooms are filthy. If you question anything they do or give feedback, you are immediately targeted. My mother was given a “lease violation” for running into [name removed] with her walker. My mother is 92 and uses a walker for mobility. [Name removed] is a kitchen staff worker who thinks she is in charge most of the time. Very condescending and if she doesn’t like you will create a story about a resident so that they will get a lease violation. 3 lease violations and you have to move out. This has been a common occurrence since residents have been targeted for removal. Many residents are moving out because of this staff member. After finding out from current residents that there were 12 covid cases at Villa Marie, I had to call and ask management point blank, are there any cases. I was told they were not aware of any. This was approximately [date removed] after the entire world new what this virus could do. After I told them that residents told me specifically who had the virus than a letter was sent out to everyone stating that some residents did have the virus. Poor management. If you love your family member, steer clear of this place. Yes, the monthly rates are low but as [name removed] would say, “You get what you pay for, what do you expect for $1940/monthly.” I have contacted upper management at Trinity Health Care and no one there seems to care. [Name removed] is the senior VP and was made aware of everything in this review. All anyone seems to care about is protecting their jobs and reputation and bottom line profits but as far as the residents go, they are at the short end of the list. Pay attention to the corporate response to this review, they will tell me to call them so they can rectify the matter but they won’t. They will pretend to care but they don’t. The prior team at Villa Marie was caring, attentive, prompt and humane. Not this staff!! I hope this review helps things get better at Villa Marie for the residents!!

My mother's stay is going wonderfully so far! The staff are attentive and the facility is very clean and safe. My mother has enjoyed socializing and talking to residents at meal times, and she enjoys connecting with them and getting to know them more.

We view 8 facilities before deciding on the sanctuary. It was number one by both my husband and I. It just felt like home. What we didn't know until Mom became a resident was how warm and helpful the staff would be. They are just wonderful. The other big thing is the residents. They immediately welcomed her home. In general they appear to like their home and our outgoing and welcoming.

A friend of mine has his brother in Sanctuary at Villa Marie and my friend and his brother are both very happy with the experience. it did take a long time to get him a place there due to a long waiting list and no availability, but once he got in there everyone is very happy.

We visited this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Overall I thought the Sanctuary at Villa Marie looked like a very nice place! The facility itself was beautiful, all on one level, and had a lot of options in regards to apartment size. I also like that they provide transportation for the residents.

I have a parent at the Villa. We are very happy with the environment, staff, food, location and activities. We especially enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the grounds and effort the staff puts into seasonal decorations. People are welcoming, but not intrusive. My parent is in a studio and is very happy. The Villa is small which to us means they can pay attention to each resident and look out for those warning signs that the elderly can exhibit. We have been there a couple years and our entire family is very pleased.

I recently moved my 90 year old mother into a studio apartment at Sanctuary at Villa Marie. My mother loves it! She said the food is very good and especially enjoys the desserts. We have had to be a bit creative with storage of clothing, personal belongings, and placement of furniture due to the size of her studio apartment, but so far so good! Although Mom has only been there a week, she is extremely comfortable and says she feels at home here. She enjoys many of the planned activities, and has made several new friends. This welcoming environment has made the move from her previous home of 27 years an easy transition for both her and myself. The clean, homey, and friendly environment of Villa Marie has made this decision to move my mother a positive one for both her and her family.

Sanctuary at Villa Marie is very clean and well run. The meals are excellent. There are activities for people to enjoy which are posted each day near the dining room. The rooms come in different sizes. The smallest has its own bathroom with either a bath tub or a shower, a good sized closet and a room which is big enough for a bed, dresser, reclining chair, small refrigerator and several bookcases.

My mother- in-law is there and I wish we would have moved her there years ago! Her quality of life has improved so much and she is enjoying herself more than she has in 20 years. I am very happy for her!

My loved one really seems to enjoy it here, I'd give them top marks across the board. It's a lovely looking community, and the staff and residents are all very friendly and welcoming. Everyone really seems to go out of their way to make sure new residents feel welcome and included. They have a good variety of activities and really encourage everyone to get involved.

My mother has been a resident of this facility for nearly 2 months. Dhe has had some health issues that have slowed her transition to some degree. However, the entire facility has been first rate and we are very pleased with our choice for my mother. Clean, safe, good food, friendly residents and staff, and activities for residents make this a great place for senior citizens to list.

A Place for Mom has scored Villa Marie 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
