I absolutely love it here at Gateway. There are lots of activities, food is good, most residents are real nice and easy to get along with. The staff is wonderful. I’m friends with many residents who are awesome. Definitely worth living here.

Charter Senior Living of Washington

The administrative staff of Morningside Washington, IL goes above and beyond to ensure needs are met for your loved ones. Scott went above and beyond to assist moving my parents from their apt in morton to the assisted living and then after mom passed he and his team promptly moved my dad to a unit that better fit his needs. I would highly recommend for those who could benefit from having meals and housekeeping needs met. I wish I would have thought of this much sooner as mom would have loved this years ago! The management team is committed to helping you stay in the home and out of dreaded nursing homes.

Complete guide to independent living

East Peoria, Illinois

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally capable of living without assistance, but cost of owning a home and the maintenance of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a good alternative. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping responsibilities are taken care of for you while you are unencumbered to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a variety of costs and advantages to keep in mind while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the service plan: housekeeping, move-in fee, Waiting list deposit, private phone, utilities, wellness program, meals, and laundry. The amenities that pertain to independent living include fitness center & swimming pool, security guards, community activities, transportation, private rental hall, laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, and concierge services.
