I absolutely love it here at Gateway. There are lots of activities, food is good, most residents are real nice and easy to get along with. The staff is wonderful. I’m friends with many residents who are awesome. Definitely worth living here.

They struggle keeping it staffed as all I imagine all places do. the location was great for our family, my sister ultimately made the decision to move here.

Charter Senior Living of Washington

This is probably a very good thing for my loved one being here, and the activities are great. The staff are friendly and overall I think they care for the residents. Everyone other than residents must wear a mask, and I believe this has kept COVID infections down in the community. The community has a main option for meals and then there is an a la carte option for the residents to choose from if needed. Some of the activities available include cards, bingo, exercise classes, movies, and more for the residents to choose from. My loved one is very interested in all the activities and this has really made our family happy that our loved one enjoys all the activities offered.

Washington, Illinois

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but the cost burden of home ownership might be a deterrent to an independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a convenient alternative to this situation. Frequent needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are accounted for, which permits residents more free time to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always utilize the services of private caregivers. There are an assortment of benefits and expenses to consider while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the service plan: cable TV, private phone, transportation, laundry, initial assessment fee, parking, meals, and wellness program. The amenities that pertain to independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, concierge services, private rental hall, beauty salon & barber shop, transportation, golf course, and healthcare center.
