Very nice place to live. There will be changes as building close in on the area. Small enough to know the first name of all the occupants

For the most part, this is an enjoyable facility. As like everywhere at this time, the amount of staffing seems to be challenging, however, the staff here is very caring to the residents and their families.

My mom has been in Memory Care 23 months. We chose CC because the facilities were beautiful, the staff was welcoming and attentive, the D of Nursing had high expectations and managed her staff well. Now, the D of Nursing is gone and CC is covered by a regional director who handles 5 buildings. All the nurses we started with are gone and there’s a constant stream of new faces hired from an exchange continually cycling through with no accountability. They’re constantly understaffed. There is poor communication of expectations between nurses and caregivers. Last week we had a dangerous situation with medication and breathing treatments not being administered and It was unacceptable. The building director and memory care director listen and say they weren’t aware. Not true. MC residents are leaving. Keep in mind this 9.4 score CC received is based on reviews of ALL the buildings their parent company owns. We’ve chosen to move Mom. We no longer have confidence in CC management or staff.

Response from Carriage Crossing Bloomington
June 5, 2024We are heartbroken that we fell short of your expectations of caring for your mother. Your mother was very much loved by everyone during her time at Carriage Crossing. We take pride in learning each individual we are blessed to care for. A lot of hard work is put into finding dedicated individuals to provide the best care for each of our residents. We appreciate you taking the time to give us this feedback - your level of disappointment encourages us to do better.
Location was important for us. The room and the layout of the facility. Awesome staff all around. We were all treated like family. The price was acceptable compared to the other facilities we toured.

We recently toured this facility. Love the “Main Street” theme with all the various activities going on. Very clean & a newer facility. Staff is friendly. Residents are happy and seem well-cared for.

January 22, 2024Thank you for your great review!
Everyone finds their place. Other residents notice and make sure everyone has a special table if they want one. Many activities, just choose what is within their comfort zone. No one cares where you came from or if you have a handicap, you are part of the family. There is turnover of staff but not as many as places I have visited. Special about the three Carriage Crossing’s I have visited is that each staff member is willing to step in to help any others roles besides their own. That is why my husband is at Carriage Crossing in Bloomington, Illinois!

I am very happy with the care my mom I getting. Most of the staff I am very happy with, especially [name removed] overnight nurse and [names removed] the day nurses are good and keep me informed. I would recommend to others, most definitely, these places cost way too much and insurance should help cover it.

I toured Carriage Crossing Bloomington and it was great! The friendliness/cleanliness/staff were all great, as well. Mom just felt like one of the other places that we'd toured felt more homey.
Response from Carriage Crossing Bloomington
March 30, 2023Thank you for the kind words & for coming in for the tour! I'm happy to hear that Mom found a community to call home!
We had a wonderful experience. My husband really loved it even though he was apprehensive about going into a facility while I was gone. I feel like he was very well attended to, and all his needs were met, and like I said, he was very happy. The food was great. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

Response from Carriage Crossing Bloomington
January 21, 2023Thank you for your kind review! And thank you for trusting us to take care of your husband while you were away. We enjoyed having him here!
We did not look at any others facility because we liked this one so much. It was newer and the community director person we spoke with we really liked. It also had all of the amenities that my mom was looking for. The apartments here are very nice. They do seem to be understaffed at the moment due to some issues. She is not a fan of the food, they could improve on the quality of the meals and they could provide more fresh vegetables. There are too many carbs and when she gets sandwiches the bread is dry. I think who you communicate with for different issues can be a little confusing at times.

A Place for Mom has scored Carriage Crossing Bloomington 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
