Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections - Bloomington South

In the memory care unit, one of the things we are having issues with is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The rest of the facility is sparkling and well taken care of, but I do not feel that they are always cleaned in memory care and she does not have the mental capability to do it herself. They are not cleaning under her nails and I am having issues booking a hair appointment as well. If someone is out the day of her showers, she will not get a shower that day and they do not make up for it. The food is really good in the assisted living facility, but that does not transfer to the memory care unit. There are lots of veggies and fruit for assisted living, but they do not always have vegies on the plate for lunch and dinner over in memory care. It is a lot of protein and carbs. I would like to see more fresh vegetables on her plate because a healthy diet is one of the main reason I wanted to move her here. The activities are great and she is happy and I think she is better off here than she was at home. She is at least physically safe and she does like all the staff. They are always friendly to me, but not always straightforward. I think they are dropping the ball on a lot of things and I am having to rely on a lot of outside help.

I recently moved my parents into Villas of Hollybrook from out of state. It was challenging on many levels and the staff was exceptional in helping navigate all challenges! They made sure we had all the paperwork ahead of time as well as identifying all of the other "to-dos". When my parents arrived, they were welcomed with open arms. I had ordered furniture that was delayed and they quickly found us pieces to use temporarily. I can't say enough good things about everyone we met in the first couple of days. I know my parents will be in caring and capable hands.

I would highly recommend this community for you or your loved one and I have already told some people about this community. The staff that I have encountered have been very helpful and open with all of the residents there that I have witnessed. They have tea times for the women like a valentines day tea and more but I would like to see them do more for the men. They play bingo and things like that to keep the residents busy.

Beautiful facility. Lovely one bedroom unit for less than others facilities studios. Having the one bedroom helped mom adjust from her own home. Staff is caring and attentive!

I toured several facilities. This one caught my attention. It was bright, cheerful, and combined with assisted living. The staff knew me by name, addressed my mother's needs and were always available to address concerns.

I visited several places and we chose Villas of Holly Brook because when I went to tour, it is assisted living/memory care and when I walked in it was bright and cheery and looked brand new. The floor plans are wide open, when you walk in there is a receptionist desk and activities room behind it and you could see two floors. When you walk into memory care it is a big community area with a fish tank and all of the residents were out and about in good spirits. The room she has is a good size and smelled like a brand new apartment and all the furnishings were updated. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the residents seem to be happy to be there. We went for another tour with my aunt and uncle and they were very impressed as well. We know that she is getting great care here and I would definitely recommend to anybody.

Facility is very new and quite pretty, but they are only about 30% full, so I didn’t really see any residence or get a feel for people or the care or the vibe. Facility was very nice. The memory care I saw more people and activity and really liked the way that was setup.
