Silverado Southlake
4.0

My dad is doing great, it was a little adjustment at first but going good now. We love the facility. It is bright and airy and there is more for them to do. They were my favorite when touring. I like that they can go outside and walk in the garden when he wants. They also have a mini golf course and he loves golf. The staff answer any calls and texts. He is starting to get involved with the activities and they sent us some picture of him being involved. He is eating all of the meals and it looks good and pretty healthy.

Morada Lake Arlington
4.5

Lower ratings only due to "no place is perfect" and sometimes when you make a request it may take an extra minute for stuff to be taken care of. Not sure of reason, When you "renew" your living quarter contract they forget that "the extra" $ increase is sometimes a huge demand on the tenant and family on a social security budget.

I am very satisfied with The Vantage of Cityview. What I really like here is the friendliness of the staff as well as the support they give us. Based on the experience I have had so far I would definitely recommend this community to other families.

Complete guide to assisted living

Assisted Living

An assisted living community is a residential community which offers assistance, supervision, and care to independent seniors who do not need skilled nursing care. Assisted living communities frequently provide chances for leisurely activity, assistance with daily activities, and care supervision. The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) licenses several types of assisted living communities governs this community type. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 10 residents. There is a maximum occupancy of 4 residents per room. Staff must obtain education in a variety of areas. These include: community resources, resident and provider rights and responsibilities, resident assessment, and basic emergency first-aid. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include assistance with activities of daily living, personal care, activity and/or social program for residents, and general supervision or oversight. Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1115 demonstration managed care waiver program–called STAR+PLUS. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include exceptions must be specifically approved by the Department, menus must be prepared to provide a balanced and nutritious diet and such as that recommended by the national food and nutrition board, The meals must be served daily, at regular times, with no more than a 16-hour span between a substantial evening meal and breakfast the following morning, and Therapeutic diets as ordered by the resident’s physician must be provided according to the service plan. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include residents may self-administer their own medication, reminders to take medications at the prescribed time, and supervision of a resident’s medication regimen. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to make sure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as must address the residents individual needs, preferences, and strengths, interviews, and home visits, and a comprehensive assessment .
