When I started my search for a new home that offered meals, I was impressed with Heartis as soon as I walked in the front door. The dining room has all the natural light the East-facing two-story windows can offer. The North doors open to the heated salt-water pool. The dining room offers 3 meals each day, starting with a breakfast that will satisfy any pallet. The lunch and dinner entrees change every day, and if you miss a regular meal you can always grab a sandwich/salad at the Bistro. Each Apartment floorplan offers plenty of room for your furniture, and the hallways are open and airy. There are more activities than you can fit into your calendar: Board Games, Puzzles, Seminars, a 2000-book Library, Interactive Games, Exercise Classes, Crafts, outings to Museums, Plays, Baseball games, and Parks. Come see why I love it so much. I've lived at Heartis over 3 years, and look forward to having you as another one of my many friendly neighbors.... Read more

Response from Heartis Mid Cities
October 12, 2024We're so happy that you're having a good experience in our community! And we deeply appreciate your kind words and recommendation to others who might be looking for a community.
My mother passed away [date removed] She was only there five months. Heartis did a good job caring for her. All of my brothers new mom wasn't doing well and we all appreciate everything Heartis did for us.
There have been definite changes in the food, dining experience that have been negative. There used to be snacks, cookies, muffins plus available food such as salad and small meals at anytime. This has disappeared.

My mom is currently a resident at Heartis Mid Cities Independent Living and overall the experience has been good. The cost is high, but it is within range of nice places with lots of monitored care in the area. The chef there is very nice and happy to serve these residents. I would recommend Heartis Mid Cities Independent Living to others.

My dad really likes it there. Lots of things to do. He liked it the most out off all the places he looked. Had a strong independent living component that was supported by care and other assisted living care.

I moved my wife in 21 days ago. Facility is open and bright. Staff is friendly. However for the 21 days she has been a resident there has been no hot water and for almost two weeks no laundry service.

August 25, 2023Hi there, Our team aims to provide the highest quality care for every resident, and we are so happy to see that they've delivered at Heartis MidCities Assisted Living. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this feedback.
What we like the most about the Heartis Mid Cities is the fact that there is no "smell." Most of the caregivers there so care for the residents. They could improve however on the "helpers".....seems to be a revolving door with the community.

August 17, 2023Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review for Heartis MidCities Assisted Living. Our staff strives to foster a positive community experience for all our residents, and your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Our family had an in person tour with Heartis Mid Cities Independent Living and it was a good tour experience. The community was clean, the rooms we were shown were nice and the people were nice as well.
I helped move them in and the staff and people living there are extremely friendly and helpful. I like the environment and the food available has been delicious. I like the bistro available for off dining times. I like the bistro space and I love the second floor living room feel with the couches and game tables. The elevators are very close the activities which makes getting around easier. We picked this community, because of the newness, the large kitchen space, and the decor of the whole facility.

The staff is super friendly and professional. [name removed] got covid her first week ( I think she must have had it before). She was confined to her room which was nearly impossible for them to do. She tried to get in other people's cars several times and only suggested memory care because they are located on a highway and were concerned for her safety. They are super upbeat and friendly even when they are on break. The culture there is very good, even with the grumpy old folks. They kept an eye on her and noticed she was eating and participating with others. They have been super with my MIL. She's been a challenge for them for sure. She's now in memory care. She kept trying to leave.

June 30, 2023Hi Laura, We are happy to hear our staff are providing a friendly and warm environment for your loved one. Thank you for taking time to share your experience.
The staff is very helpful, compassionate, and skillful at Heartis Mid Cities Independent Living. They do laundry, actively invite/ include the residents in all activities, provide physical therapy (my mom is now able to use her walker rather than her wheelchair), and have regular weekly housekeeping. Two doctors are available and two members of the staff are RNs. The food is pretty good. The floor plans are great. Every room has its own bathroom attached. Some share a shower in between two rooms. They have a shower schedule based on even and odd numbered rooms. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

May 18, 2023We are so happy to hear you've found our staff to be so helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback for your experience with Heartis MidCities Assisted Living. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. Thanks customer.
They can improve in the dining room. They don't have enough help there. Everyone there is so nice. It looks more like a hotel than an assisted living facility. They offer activities such as; Bingo, puzzles, board games, and virtual church services.

April 5, 2023Thanks so much Lauren! We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review.
Heartis Mid Cities has work our beautifully for me, I am doing very well here and I am happy. It is a smaller community then what I was in previously which I like because it has a really upbeat atmosphere to it. The staff members are just so wonderful and friendly here. I really enjoy playing bridge twice a week. The food here is really really good which is a big plus. There are plenty of other activities for everyone as well. I would recommend this community to other families.

It was extremely clean, and a newer facility. They offered three meals per day. The staff was friendly.
We have had some concerns and have gone to management as we are not getting what we are paying for. They continue to tell us they are working We were told Memory care would get two options and they don't they are only given one option and is often fried foods with plastic utensils. They are left unsupervised when eating at all times. They only offer a small cup of water or small cup of punch each day. Feel like she is dehydrated most of the time. She has declined tremendously since being in there and she is medicated to the point where is almost keeping her asleep for about 23 hours a day or more.

My mother loves living at Heartis Mid-Cities and seems to be having the time of her life. She stays busy playing cards and games, going to her arts & crafts classes and enjoying sharing meals in the dining room with all her new friends.

The community itself is beautiful, as well as the apartment our loved one has. It is so spacious, beautiful, and has a kitchenette. When it comes to the activities it is pretty quiet. The food really needs improvement, the menu that we were shown on the tour is far from reality. They do offer snacks during the days but it is very limited. When you go into the dining room they have the same menu over and over again so it is very repetitive, and since the dining service can be slow the food is served cold. They do have a salt water pool which is nice and a lift that can get you in and out. They also have a nice BBQ grill.

This community was okay. My mom likes to walk and be outside a lot so the location is important when it comes to the community. The community also did not have the right feeling that I was looking for. It kind of felt like a nursing home. They gave us lots of information on the tours , it was a great tour but it was just not the right place for my loved one.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
