Recent reviews of Nursing Homes in Arlington, VA
Modena Reserve at Kensington
5.0

I think all 7 categories meet the mark, but they should, since this an upscale facility and more costly than others. The staff is terrific. My wife has difficult Lewy body dementia and the facility does well. I'm happy with it.

Forest Hills of DC in Washington, DC
4.6

My sister has lived at Forest Hills in the Health Care Center for a while. Before the pandemic, they had wonderful activities as well as great nursing care. In the pandemic they have done an incredible job to keep everyone safe, to figure out ways to have safe activities and/or virtual or safe visitation zones (following CDC guidelines). The staff is working under challenging circumstances and they continue to be kind, patient and deliver high quality care. We are so very grateful my sister can live in such a great facility.

English Meadows Prince William Campus in Manassas, VA

The community really helped my loved one improve his mobility and he was himself again. The community was clean and neat and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this community to others.

Complete guide to nursing homes

Arlington, Virginia

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a complex that provides residence to two or more persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of residence provides its residents with 24-hour care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide care for seniors who are unable to care for themselves because of their aging.

This type of facility is a familiar and easy living option for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will often admit persons 55 and greater which is unusual for other senior care types. Some services come at an extra cost which can include a private room, unless medically needed, specially prepared food, and personal comfort items. Nursing homes are required to provide nursing and related services, routine personal hygiene items, dietary services, and emergency dental services to residents. Often times individuals might prefer to live in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a physical or mental impairment that prevents them from easily accomplishing their lifestyle goals. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from discrimination, spend time with visitors, get information on services and fees, and get proper medical care. The most frequent mental disease experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, and their sense of familiarity, and decision making capabilities.
