The entire staff was extremely professional, kind and hospitable. This applies to everyone from the receptionist, admissions team, housekeepers and care providers. They were very patient with me and my mother while we navigated this difficult time with my father. The housekeeping is extremely clean and sanitary. The apartment was furnished with everything my parents needed during their stay all the way down to bath towels and dishes. All they had to bring was their clothes and toiletries. The communication was excellent. They were also very proactive about following up with us. We never had to remind them twice about anything. The on-site restaurant was nice with three meals a day provided. The on-site complimentary garage parking was very convenient for my family. I would highly recommend The Residences at Thomas Circle to anyone. We could have not asked for a better facility. They were amazing.... Read more

Response from The Residences at Thomas Circle
December 22, 2023Your kind words go a long way to brighten our day. We’ll be sure to share your review with our team members. Thanks so much.
I would say this residence is nicely furnished and staffed. The food is delicious, and even my loved one did not complain. I would also tell them to drive their smallest vehicle when trying to park park in the garage.

October 27, 2023Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your loved one and taking the time to leave us this review.
I would say that if you do not have Long Term Health Insurance or a lot of money, it is very expensive.

I was very pleased with the overall place. I am seriously thinking about this being my final home. It is near family members. I am happy overall with all the potential here and keeping me involved in what's going on in the world.

A close family member of mine is in the assisted living facility here. I feel that he’s been getting compassionate and attentive care from the staff, and it’s helped him get through the physical and mental challenges he’s faced since the injury that caused him to need this support. The pandemic has made it extremely difficult to have a clear day-to-day view of his life, but from everything I can see, this has been a good place for him to be.

I was able to tour this community and I would say the value for cost is comparable to others in the area. The people were very nice, I would not of minded living there. However, i did decide against it because it is in a pretty busy area, and coming from the country I wanted a lot of landscape. The outside area of the community was smaller then what i would of wanted.
The administrative staff team were super nice and friendly. The nursing staff was very good and caring, but the program they had for the memory care unit was terrible. We would not recommend this community for memory care.
If I had another living parent who was interested in independent living, I would look no further than to the Residences at Thomas Circle. The staff at TC is excellent - caring, considerate, amiable, and knowledgable. The apartments for independent living are well appointed and an in home care facility is on the premises, making scheduling an aide easy and affordable as they offer half hour increments. A PT studio and a beauty salon are also easy to get to on the Lower Lobby. The meals are quite good. The location of Thomas Circle is also great - close to several grocery stores, pharmacies, and entertainment once it opens again. A bonus to my mother who moved in [date removed], she and all the residents and staff were vaccinated against Covid. I cannot speak more highly of my family’s experience with Thomas Circle, especially staff members [names removed] of Life Matters.

The location is fantastic - close to many stimulating things in the city. Independent Living residents have a great set up as they are...independent! Care in Assisted Living section is fair to poor, ditto the skilled nursing facility. Many staff are kind and helpful, others are definitely not. You have the sense there is a lack of overall supervision, staff are not well trained and don't work well as a team. Management is somehow not aware of all the problems - from physical plant issues to personnel. There is always hope that this will change as they do seem open to addressing issues. Speaking to other friends and family of residents around my loved one my perceptions are sadly not unique. I wish them luck in turning the ship around!

This was a great facility for my friend while he was recovering from surgery and then in the Independent Living side while his house was being fixed up so he could return home. Great location, friendly and helpful staff.

Urban feel great for residents in the city; our dad is more of a suburban guy. Lack of greenery and smaller rooms may not have suited him. The on-site rehab is a plus for continuity of care.

Independent living. Sister facility to Chevy Chase House. Reasonably priced, especially for Washington DC.

My grandfather was hesitant about moving. On the first day he met so many welcoming people. By Saturday he felt so much at home and had already found activities to be involved in. When I called to check on him after four days he said that this was a good decision and he felt like it is home. We are glad he likes it and glad we found Thomas Circle.

While I didn't tour the community Judy (who will be the resident), her husband and her other POA Loved it. They felt TC offered great socialization opportunities, sophisticated dining and spacious apartments. A place for Mom, Lisa Glaser, did an excellent job selecting the right communities for us to visit. Ms. Crawford at TC has been very accommodating and has a in depth knowledge of her community and what it offers. Thanks to all for making this an easy transition.

I like TC a lot, it's a very nice place for seniors. A couple things to mention. Having moved here from another senior place in a different state, my mom would like to have someone who makes crafts with the seniors, say once a week.

I have lived in this facility for six years. There have been 3 management groups here during that time frame. I really enjoyed being here during my first three years. However, a new management team came in about three years ago and everything changed. I am not at all satisfied with the policies and practices of the present management team. I find that they are dishonest and will lie to cover up something that they have done wrong. I have written to the Mayor of DC on a few occasions about the violations of law that have occurred here. I have also filed complaints with the DC Department of Health regarding violations. I am currently involved in a complaint against this facility for fraudulent insurance billing and inaccurate level of care assessment in order to get more money. I would not recommend anyone to come here while the present management team is still in place. I do not want to move because the facility is centrally located in DC and is quickly accessible to places that I go, i.e., restaurants, library, DC Courts, Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Smithsonian, and other similar establishments. Also, I do not want to give this present CEO the satisfaction of making me leave. I hope she and her team will not be here much longer. The food is mediocore. The quality of the food had dropped since this management team has been in place. We have very good CNA and Nurses. About two years ago I became ill and had to go to the skilled nursing unit for two weeks after returning from the hospital. I was delighted with the care that I received.

the facility is clean and well maintained, the staff is extremely pleasant but the residents, while racially diverse, are cliquish bordering on snobbish and the staff does little to intervene in that dynamic. if you are upper middle class to affluent and feel strongly about your social status, if your time at an elite boarding school or college was the peak of your existence , then this is probably a good place for you. otherwise not so much. . if you are looking for more of a community of fellowship and mutual caring, then keep looking..the downtown location is convenient for some but parking is a nightmare and there is little outside space to enjoy. if the senior is mobile and healthy enough to walk or wheelchair there are nearby parks but not extremely close by.
