I discovered Brighton Gardens when faced with an emergency need for immediate respite care for my mother who has moderately severe dementia. The sales and administrative teams worked with me to facilitate an admission in 72 hours. They welcomed her on move in day and provided the assistance and assurance our family needed to give my elderly father who functioned as her primary caregiver the relief he needed. She transitioned smoothly with the caring team, fun and appropriate activities and occasional outings. She was treated with warmth and kindness. Although her stay was only 30 days, we were made to feel like family. We would enthusiastically recommend Brighton Gardens to anyone looking for respite or a permanent home for a loved parent.... Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights is a comfortable, well-administered community. The staff are generally responsive to the individual needs of each resident, including those, like my family member, with specialized/intensive care needs. The longevity of some of the higher-ranking staff members at Brighton Gardens stands out relative to other facilities like it. Family members and friends who spent many days visiting Brighton Gardens noted very few resident complaints while visiting the facility. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

I toured this community and it seemed very lovely. Cleanliness was great. The friend I was helping/touring with felt that they weren't as responsive to her on the tour as she would have liked. She said it didn't feel as welcoming and decided to keep looking.
I love this facility. We're very grateful that we found this place for my mom. There have been bumps in the road, of course. But that's with anything and it was all worked out. Things are great here. The staff are respectful and caring. Sometimes, as with all places, there's a learning curve for each person. But they work really hard to get to know mom and her needs. Housekeeping is ok, I'd love for them to be a little bit more thorough sometimes. At times it's immaculate and others I notice some things that could be done better. Laundry is taken care of also, which is a big help. Communication with the family is frequent and very good. They don't hesitate to reach out when needed. The food is good and mom has no complaints. They have a wonderful outdoor/garden area and are in a nice residential location. I feel like they're doing a very good job overall. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I can not say enough positive things to adequately express our positive experience working with the Brighton Gardens. Over the course of the interview and preparation period all our questions were promptly and courtesy answered. Our "special needs" were addressed with considerable flexibility. Unfortunately the patient did not live long enough to enter Brighten Gardens, even though all plans were in place.

It has been hard for my friend to make this move. She is 95, not good with change at any age and now it is even harder. The staff has been wonderful about reaching out to her and doing their best to make her feel at home, included and cared for - despite her crankiness! Medications have been on time, information has readily been shared as needed. When I have a question, all the staff is approachable - from the top down - and they are responsive. That was not the case concerning previous experiences.

Unfortunately my loved one was only here for a very brief time, but in that time my experience with Brighton Gardens was a very positive one. The woman who does their sales, Sue, was great. She was compassionate and empathetic, answered all of my questions, and I never felt like I was listening to a sales pitch. All of the employees at the community were very accommodating and understanding, and really helped ease the stress that having to search for one of these communities can cause. As an example, we were having a billing issue where the bill was not coming through to me. They told me just to get it to them when I could, there was no rush or pressure to get it resolved in the middle of an already stressful situation.

We are very pleased with them. They have been wonderful. They are very clean and friendly, and they are very quick to respond to any needs or concerns. They have so many activities to choose from she can't do them all. The food is good. We have no complaints whatsoever.

A Place for Mom has scored Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
