Cantata Adult Life Services a CCRC in Brookfield, IL
4.8 / 5.0

I recommend Cantata because they have a robust rehab gym staffed with professionals in physical therapy, occupational therapy, balance, speech/memory therapy. It is located on a quiet tree lined landscaped campus with onsite Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Independent Living. The staff communicates very well with the resident and the family. Price is fair market/moderate.

Liberty Village in Elmhurst, IL
5.0 / 5.0

I could not be happier with the Liberty Village community is every regard. [name removed] and [name removed] has been amazing and I am very happy that my father is there. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Gurnee Meadows
5.0 / 5.0

I’m living here currently and it’s going really, really well. I’m very pleased. When I moved in, my apartment was perfect. I had new carpet and new paint and it was really a pleasure to be able to move in. I was on the waiting list for a few months but they were able to give me exactly what I wanted, including my own parking space in the underground garage. The staff is very helpful. The only issue I ever see is that maybe someone forgets to vacuum the elevator because it’s a high traffic area but the community room and the lobby is just beautiful and they decorate for every holiday. It makes you feel like you’re living in a house because of the decorating. They don’t serve food but they provide small full-sized kitchens in the apartments. They provide plenty of activities like bingo, card games, there’s a movie every Friday night, and they have special dinner events about once a month. The other residents so far have been very friendly and very welcoming. They’ve met all of my needs and expectations and I would recommend them.

Complete guide to independent living

South Barrington, Illinois

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the opportunity to continue to live an independent lifestyle while making sure their care requirements are being fulfilled. You or your loved one may use their free time as they wish while their meals are prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of private medical providers, they may always do so. There are a number of expenditures and benefits to consider while selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in the plan: field trips, laundry, utilities, transportation, Waiting list deposit, housekeeping, meals, and private phone. The benefits associated with independent living include fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, game/TV room, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, transportation, and laundry service.
