Response from Victory Centre of Bartlett
April 11, 2024Thank you so much for your review and feedback. We are so happy your mother is enjoying her new home at Victory Centre of Bartlett!
We recently attempted to enroll our mother at Victory Centre. All was going well, with the application process, and it looked like mom was going to be moving there. Due to some technical issues, with Medicaid application, we were rejected 2 days, before she was scheduled to move in! The cancellation letter was NOT very flattering and we feel that we did not get the support that we needed. I just thought that you might want to be made aware of this situation, and I would not recommend this place to anyone, if the inquired.

May 28, 2024Unfortunately the community does not set the policy or regulations for Medicaid, that is all determined by the State of Illinois. We do have to abide by the state requirements and can only accept residents who qualify under those requirements. Residents can also qualify to live in our community under private pay funding (no funding from Medicaid). I’m sorry your loved one did not meet the Medicaid requirements, and we would be happy to review your situation further if requested, however this should not be a poor reflection of the community.
The amount of rudeness I received from the RECEPTIONIST is insane. I toured this facility with [name removed] which was very nice, professional and thorough providing excellent details regarding facility. I called and asked to speak with [name removed] (I believe she is the new director) and instead of being transferred to her I was transferred to a nurse.. I called back and the receptionist yelled at me telling me I have the wrong place and hung up on me. I called back repeatedly which she would not answer until I called from a different number. If the receptionist is rude I could only imagine how they treat residents. I wouldn't dare put my love one here.

February 18, 2024I am sorry to hear of your unsatisfactory experience when calling the Victory Centre of Bartlett. I am the Regional Director of Operations and if you would like to call me at 847-423-0911 I would be happy to discuss the situation with you further so I can address with the community. I would ask you to not judge the entire community and its employees by the poor experience you may have encountered with one individual. As stated in your review, the person who toured you was "very nice and professional." I can assure you, there are many other employees and caregivers who have the same professional demeanor. I look forward to discussing your concerns further.
They seem short staffed. The community is very clean and the staff members there are very friendly. When it comes to the care services, our loved one needs more help than what she receives. The food there is very good and the activities seem good - although my mom doesn't really participate in them. It is better priced than some but still seem high.

My mother is happy there meeting people is great. I have had issues with her care. For instance I must call and call to ensure that the care needed is being done. I asked the [name removed] to tell the nurse to please get my mother a UTI test. It wasn't done until the following week. I had to call nurse and Dr. To get the test done. The Dr. Sucks big time.

I toured 7 different places and Victory Centre of Bartlett was our second choice. I just got a really good overall gut feeling when I walked into the facility. The people that I met were so friendly and helpful. I was impressed with how good they did with following up afterwards as well - checking in and making sure we had all the information we needed and seeing if we had any questions. The maintenance staff were great as well. While walking around I pointed out a few things and they said they would be able to fix or change those things before we moved in. This is a great place for someone who has a small pet. They allow dogs and cats and they have a fenced in green are where you can take your dog out. Out of all the places I looked at this was the only one that had that.
Aside from a big hiccup with my scheduled tour, I liked Victory Centre of Bartlett. They had a lot of activities. I really liked that they brought in a lady who did art classes there, and they even had a resident who sold some of her art. They had a gardening team that worked outside with the residents. The only thing I didn’t like was I had to wait a about 15-20 min to start my tour because the admissions person was on the phone when I arrived. I was running only about 10 minutes late because I had to help my mom with something - I had called to let the admissions person know, and I feel she should have told the person on the phone she would call them back. Because she was on the phone, it took away from my tour. She had to cut my meeting with her short after about 10 minutes and then have someone else show me around. And that really turned me off from the place.
I would recommend Victory Centre to others for their loved ones. The care overall is good. We are able to keep up-to-date on my loved one with the staff, and their response time is good. The food is good according to my loved one.

February 15, 2022Thank you for your review. Hearing feedback allows us to improve on the areas that we need to and acknowledge our team for the great work that they are doing.
Our family was able to speak with the marketing team and they were very nice, unfortunately the move in cost was to much for our family. However, we did like that at after awhile they will move your loved one over to Medicaid so we are keeping this community in mind.
Our mom has been at Victory center for approx 5 year's. This last year of covid-19 her mind and health had declined significantly, sadly she is on hospice now at Victory centre. She's been taken care of in every way we have needed. They have always responded to our inquires in a timely fashion. They have kept up with CDC guide lines at all times and had very few covid-19 cases. We want to say thanks for all they do, especially with the new world we've all had to deal with. Victory centre is a safe, clean, respectable home for our beloved mom! Thanks to all there!

I DO NOT recommend Victory Centre in Bartlett IL. I suggest that you look around carefully prior to sending your loved one to Victory Centre in Bartlett IL. The staff to patient ratio is clearly too high. My sister was diagnosed with dementia which lead her to become a resident of Victory Centre for 1 year. In that timeframe I emailed management several times asking for my sister to be reminded of meals as often she would forget to go down on her own at mealtime and would later call me saying she was hungry and missed the meal. During Covid I was not allowed enter the facility to visit my sister to see what condition she was in. I only saw her in limited outdoor visits where she was typically dressed in same clothes, not sure if a change of clothes was ever suggested or assisted. Approximately two months ago on [date removed] I was called to the emergency room to find out my sister was passed out unconscious on the floor of her room for an unknown amount of time. Upon my arrival at the Emergency room I was told by the Emergency room doctor that my sister had Sepsis, likely a result of aspirating her own vomit while unconscious on the floor of her room at Victory Centre. In addition to Sepsis she also had Pneumonia and Urinary tract Infections all of these combined led to Congestive Heart failure. As a result of this health trauma, I was told that night she was not expected to survive overnight. However, she did pull through her but her heart, brain and general health severely declined. I contacted the Director at Victory Center to advise her I must immediately terminate my sisters stay at Victory Center and move her to another facility with more 1:1 care due to her declined health. According to the contract I signed I was able to do this and surely after a near death experience this should be allowed. The Director then called and debated with me that she felt my sister could still stay at Victory even with the severely declined health and therefore I could not remove her without 30 days PAID notice. After this debate, I gave this notice on [date removed] and my Sister was billed for the 30 days notice on [date removed]. On [date removed] I discovered that additional money was withdrawn by Victory Centre from my sisters account above and beyond the 30 days notice payment. I contacted the Director about this who immediately referred me to business manager. The business manager did not bother to respond back to me for 32 days. On day 32, I was told my sister was not only responsible for 30 days but also an additional 4 days from [dates removed] based on their billing cycle. Which clearly she cannot afford. I typically would not write a bad review for anything however what my sister has been through and this general situation definitely warrants it and my hope is others do not have to go through a situation such as this.

First impressions are an important, and unfortunately I did not have a great first impression. When I arrived, the receptionist said she didn't have me on the list for a tour, and when I told her I scheduled it through APFM she said "oh, that's why I don't know about it", and then proceeded to tell me that the person I was scheduled to meet was in a meeting, she couldn't reach her by phone, and she wasn't sure when the meeting would be over so I had to sit and wait and see if she showed up. Fortunately, the person I needed to meet with actually did know I was coming and she arrived on time. As we were touring the facility, we stopped at the dining room just as one of the residents walked off an elevator. She had very noticeable facial wounds that appeared to be recent, but were not bandaged in any way. She had come down to the dining room for lunch, but it was only 10:30 a.m. The Sales Director helped seat her outside the dining room and told her it would be another hour before lunch, and then we continued the tour. This made me uncomfortable - while I don't know her situation, I was concerned about the resident and felt like they should've done more for her (I would've understood and gladly would've waited). PROS: The facility is clean and has larger rooms including separate living and sleeping areas. They are the sister building to Alexian Village of Elk Grove, so they offer the same "age in place" philosophy and are truly interested in making this the last place your loved one would ever need. The pricing is fairly all inclusive. CONS: The ratio of caregivers to staff is high (26 to 1), but they say they do adjust as needed. Overall, I just didn't feel this was the "one".

We liked this facility very much and feel enough care would be provided as my mom ages. If we don’t find a place we like that would be a little closer for my brother, we will seriously consider Victory Centre.

From our first visit to now 3 years later we could not be happier with Victory Center. The staff have taken wonderful care of her and kept us well informed of any changes in her health. Her room and the facility are clean and never are odors present. She is clean and well dressed always. Mom has severe dementia so their close attention to her needs give us , her family confidence when we can’t be with her. We are so glad we found Victory and at peace knowing Mom is so well cared for.

My mother has received wonderful and compassionate care during her 8 years as resident at Victory Centre Bartlett. Both the management and staff respect my mother and treat her like family. During her 2 bouts with cancer in her 80s contributed to her rebound and her functionality is equal prior to the diagnosis and now she is 90. Tremendous leadership, staff and facility! My family and mother are grateful for Victory Centre.

My mother was a resident here for 1 1/2 years. Everything about this facility was wonderful. While she was still able to, my mother enjoyed many of the activities and outings they have. All of the staff are outstanding. They are always cheerful and compassionate. I visited frequently and at various times of the day and never saw anything wrong. As my mother declined and things got emotionally very difficult the LEA's and the wonderful ladies at the front desk helped me to cope. I would highly recommend this facility.

The facility itself looked really nice. Everything about this facility felt like a homey atmosphere. All of the residents and staff members seemed to be really nice and friendly. This facility is more towards people who are advanced in their conditions and require a lot of nursing help. The only bad thing I can say about this community is that the residents just looked really down and they couldn’t do anything for themselves. I would recommend this facility.
