Everything was fine at Franciscan. She was well cared for and they were very helpful as she neared the end. She was 93 when she passed away and had Alzheimer's. I even recommended Franciscan to my son-in-law for his mother when she needed assisted living. I liked the staff there. They were always very caring and helpful. So no complaints about Franciscan.
The staff are very friendly and helpful from start. They were attentive to my mom's needs and changes to her health and well-being, from eating to mobility. On site, available physical therapy and visiting physicians as well as pharmacy was a plus. Even a hair salon and many activities throughout the day. My family and I highly recommended this family-owned business who have several years of experience and a compassion for seniors.

There is not always someone around. It is slightly dirty at times, but the staff members are very friendly. The quality of care gets a 4 because the staff aren't able to spend enough time with person. Dinner meals are very skimpy as well as some lunch meals. Wish there were more exercise classes upstairs instead of the basement. The value for cost is reasonable. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

The staff are extremely professional and compassionate. My mom feels very comfortable and also independent. She is enjoying the privacy and independence of her apartment but also the community and social life of Franciscan Court.

They really care about their residents and it's a smaller place, so it seems more personal- the owners are involved with running the facility which I feel is a plus. They said turnover was low with staff and the facility is very nice. Price per month is more reasonable than any other facility we spoke with. We are saving approximately $1,500 per month and if she ever runs out of resources they accept Medicaid and allow you to stay, which gives us much peace of mind! I would very highly recommend Franciscan Court.

Franciscan Court has been the biggest blessing and gift to my mom and our family! They've been amazing with communication on how my mom has been. Even thought we visit her multiple times a day, we're always informed of how she is doing. When she had to be rushed to the hospital a few times for sickness and falls, they would advocate with us for her care and make sure she is being treated how she is there: with dignity and kindness. Even with her language barriers, my mom feels so seen and heard and cared for at FC.

We would give 5 to every category expect for the meals - we do not know much about them and therefore can't rate them. The staff members have been wonderful and the value for cost has been good. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Franciscan Court to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

We toured with Franciscan Court and it was very nice - I liked this location the best. The director of sales was extremely friendly and offered many great suggestions to us. The reason we did not choose this facility was because it seemed like the residents here needed more care than my mom did. For example when we were in the dining room it was completely quiet and no one was socializing. I just thought my mom would need more interaction.
My mom was a little bit of an unusual case because she was coming out of a rehab facility, and she should not have been discharged, but she insistent that she went home. Prior to going to Franciscan Court, she had a fall at home and she's used to go to the hospital to get check on, so we didn't think it was anything serious. When she went to Franciscan Court, she went on a Friday. They were wonderful about moving her things in beforehand. She was in there on Friday and we were with her all day. On Saturday we stayed with her for most of day as well. She was fixated on having pain in her back; it was quite a transition for her. We were also paying for extra care like help with getting her to the restroom, etc.. By Sunday morning we received a call saying she didn't want to come out of her room, she was still fixated on having pain and they didn't know what to do. My sister and I agreed to take her to the hospital for an x-ray. We found out that she had a small fracture in her tailbone; it was a t-4, t-5 little fracture. They did admit her to hospital and she was there for quite a while, as they made her a brace, etc.. She was brought to rehab and she was doing better, exactly the same as she was prior to. They sent her records over to Franciscan and they refused her back because they said she would require more care. It's almost like they didn't give her a chance. My mom is [age removed] years old, and when I was there looking around, there were people in much worst shape who were older than her. The techs were constantly pushing them around in wheelchairs, while my mom is more than capable of getting around by herself. They didn't give her a chance, so we had to go back there and move all her things out. She was only there for 2 days - and all of her furniture had to be removed. It wasn't so much the faciliatory, [name removed], he isn't a nurse or anything and he let me know that his hands were tied. His mom and stepdad own the place. It was more on the nurse who didn't want to give my mom a chance. I understand my mom gave them a hard time, I'm not denying that, but we had to start all over again. My mom is in a nursing home because we couldn't get her into another place that was able to care for her in the way she needed. I believe they would have been able to care for her, I really do. I'm not trying to blame them, but they knew she had fallen at home prior to moving in. They were well aware of that, and they knew she was going to require more care than average. I'm unsure if they got a bad taste in their mouth from her. She is a fall risk, and maybe they didn't want that liability, but it was really unfortunate. They did end up refunding us for the month, but she did pay for the remainder of the month and a community fee. They did not reimburse the community fee and I get it's in the contract, but at times there are circumstances when you should bend a little bit. She spent [price removed], and this was the only savings she had. Franciscan Court is a great facility, but in particular, I think my moms case was handled very poorly. I also find it hard to believe that there wasn't a person who wasn't in worse shape because I saw it myself.

The staff is outstanding. They go above and beyond to make my dad's stay better. I just wish they would work on their food. He's very unhappy with the quality of it. And maybe now that we're coming out of Covid, I hope that they'll have more activities, whether they're in-house or outside the facility.

Our experience has been so far so good, the staff have done everything we have asked with no issues. It is a family owned facility and you can tell. It is very clean, there is always someone walking around picking up things, emptying trash and keeping it organized. Our loved one is really enjoying the meals. She likes the simplification of it, for lunch they have more dinner sized portions, and for dinner they have more lunch sizes potions which she really enjoys. Also the head nurse has continued to do a great job keeping close eyes on our evolved one and calling us anytime there is an updated no matter how big or small.

I would highly recommend to not put your loved one in here, especially if they have Alzheimer's. My mom had Alzheimer's and they said they could handle that, 2 weeks later they told me I was going to need to move her out and they could not deal with her. It was not a good experience.

We went with Franciscan Court because of the location. She is very pleased with the facility. She has a very nice size apartment with plenty of space for her. It is nice because it is a smaller community, about 70 residents so you get to know people better and it is also run by a family so it is more personal. I would recommend to others looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Franciscan Court 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
