November 15, 2024Hello, and thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that your mom is enjoying her time at Alto Wheaton, from the food to the activities, and that our staff has made such a positive impact. It means a lot that you would recommend our community to other families, and we're so glad your experience has been a great one so far. If there’s anything we can do to make it even better, don’t hesitate to reach out!
I would recommend it, so far as you know I have not been exposed to any other facilities in this community.

[name removed] is very friendly and informative. Nurses [name removed] on 4th floor are very caring with the residents. The rooms in memory care are just the right size! They have great amenities offered as well.

The director and management staff were really great to work with and made the move-in and out processes very easy. They went above and beyond to assist with my mom's changing needs. Many of the staff that we got to know were kind and caring, but like many facilities floor staffing issues sometimes seemed less than ideal. The facility was flexible in assisting with/providing transportation to appointments, etc. and did a great job of offering holiday gatherings for residents and families. I would recommend the facility.

Staff members build relationships with the residents and the families. It's a small enough facility that it has a family feel. The staff members seem to know and care about each individual's needs, I can trust them that mom is safe and being cared for.

We are so happy that mom choose Alto. The community is small enough that she adapted well. Its proximity to family has been a great blessing. Mom feels like she's home. Mom loves puzzles and the activity room has a great selection. The library is constantly refreshed with selections from the public library so there's always something interesting to read. The staff in the dining room greet mom by name and with personal connection. They are welcoming to her guests and the food is nutritious and served with an eye for beauty. As mom transitioned from her large home to assisted living, having a separate bedroom was important to her. She is still able to entertain and enjoy personal time in her living room and maintain privacy with her sleeping area. We have high regard for the community at Alto.
All of the staff at Alto Wheaton are friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond and I feel that my mom is safe. I'm happy with the housekeeping, they do a good job. Family communication is excellent. It's not a huge facility, 88 apartments, so there is a family feeling. [Names removed] are my main contact people, but everyone is great and I have interacted with a majority of the staff members. I shopped around quite a bit and found Alto to be the best value, but of course it's expensive, more than her monthly income, so that's a concern, but we know it's a reality. We moved my mom in and it went smoothly, they have done a nice job involving her in the activities. I've eaten at Alto several times and the food has been excellent. PT and OT have worked with my mom following her hip injuries. They are caring and professional and communicate with me regularly. Mom has a call button that she can press for assistance and the care givers respond in a timely manner. The Activities Director is really sweet and makes a point to involve the residents. She also does manicures for the ladies. They have a movie every night at 6pm in the "theater" among many other activities. I would highly recommend Alto Wheaton to others!

Alto Wheaton was very nice based off of what we saw during our tour experience there. The room that was available looked out onto equipment (air conditioning, etc.) which I thought was not a nice view, but my mom probably would have liked it since it did not look out onto other apartments.
Alto Wheaton was nice, clean and newish. The rooms were VERY small and the overall feel of the place was more institutional and less homey than other places we toured. More than any of the places we toured, Alto felt like the same place we were coming from. We weren't convinced that my mom would get the individualized attention that she needed here.
Anthology is a newer place and the staff I met there that day I toured I liked and thought my mom would like this place better than the other two we visited. The facility is always neat, very clean and never smells. All of the staff are great people, very friendly and truly help and care about everyone that lives there. My mom likes living there and likes all the staff and says everyone there is great.

I think it's a hard transition, both for the person with dementia as well as their family members. It's very emotional and difficult and just takes time. You need to stay on top of things and communicate often with the staff when getting started. They've been open to phone calls and provide valuable guidance. The regular staff is fine, although we had an incident with a travel nurse that has not been followed up on as we requested. But all of the other nurses are fine. The facility is very nice and presentable, and it doesn't smell.

June 15, 2022Thank you for your heartfelt and wonderful review of Anthology of Wheaton! Our entire staff at the community is fantastic, and they truly love the residents as if they were family. Providing exceptional care is always our top priority. We are happy you found us and welcome you to share your experience with family and friends.
The hallways were very long at this community and I felt like this would be an issue for my loved one. They also had keys to get into the room and with motor issues that would not work well for my loved one. If an emergency happen it just seemed like it would take a long time for help to get to them.

February 9, 2022Amanda A, thank you for your review. We would like the opportunity to speak with you further on this and welcome you to reach out to us at customersupport@anthologyseniorliving.com.
We chose Anthology because I liked that they were a smaller facility, we figured that she would get better personalized care and the adjustment would not be as difficult. I also really liked the staff that I talked with, they have always been so friendly and helpful. For what the facility offers, they are very reasonably priced. You get great care, the food is wonderful, and so is the location. We are very happy with our choice and would highly recommend to others.

Nice location, quiet building, pleasant staff. I thought the layout of the 1 bedroom apartment I was shown was a bit more inconvenient to get to the bathroom. Some of the hallway carpeting was stained. Disappointed to hear not all staff is vaccinated.

Our family was able to do an in person tour pre covid and the facility was very nice. However the hallways were extremely long, so the residents would have to talk along way to the center of the place. We did not care for that and the hallways did not have any character. The community was very nice, it did feel more like a hotel and not that homey feeling but when you got to see inside the rooms they were nicely set up.

A Place for Mom has scored Alto Wheaton 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
