I moved to Encore Village almost exactly three years ago. I was the best decision I have ever made! The apartments are very nice; the food and food choices are excellent. As a matter of fact, "choices" pretty much describes the way of life here. Choices in dining, choices in fitness activities, choices in daily life. If you like choices. we have them. Swimming? Got it. Handicrafts? Got 'em. Lifelong learning opportunities? They are here. Just hanging with friends and socializing? Any time,

I moved to Encore Village 6 years ago and it was the best decision I’ve I ever made! I have a choice of many activities to enjoy and a variety of restaurants to eat in. I no longer have a house to care for, no snow to shovel or grass to mow. There is a maintenance crew ready to repair anything that needs it. The staff is friendly and supportive. I’ve met many residents and have made new friends. The best advice I can give to anyone thinking of moving to a senior community is move when you want to and not when you have to. You won’t regret your decision

I have been here for almost 8 years, and I cannot imagine living any place else. I have not only made many new friends here but my physical needs are taken care of by the fitness center and we have so many discussion groups that keep our brains engaged. Most of all the new friends we've met, the staff and all the workers who make our lives much easier and more enjoyable.

My relatives toured several similar facilities in the area and considered Encore Village the best to meet my needs. My relatives were pleased with the entire sales/marketing experience at Encore Village. I was enrolled in Assisted Living since losing the use of my arms and legs to an infection. In spite of the therapist thought that I would never be able to use my arms or legs again, the expert therapists here at Encore Village have proved them wrong. After 8 months I now have 30% usage of my legs and 40% use of my arms with prognosis for the end of the year I should be able to independently use a walker and my commode. I am very thankful that I have the use of a Resident Assistant and Nurses available 24 hours a day. I also appreciate NOT having to change my linens, wash my personal items, nor clean my apartment.

As a 13 year resident of Encore Village, I can honestly say that moving here was the best decision we ever made. When my husband passed away 7 years ago, I had many friends and activities (bridge, lectures, library service, fitness classes) to keep me busy. When I quit driving, I was able ate use our complimentary bus service for groceries, mall shopping and medical appointments, as well as many trips to entertainment and educational venues. Perhaps three of the greatest advantages of living ere are 1) helpful, friendly staff, 2) good food I don't have to cook and, 3) no cleaning for me.

Some 4 plus years ago we moved to what was then called Friendship Village. It was a great decision with bad timing as we moved at the beginning of Covid. Covid and other issues placed a hard fiscal burden on that origination. At the end of [date removed], Encore Village purchased the wonderful facility and has begun to make many improvements while keeping all the good stuff. We have great friends, so many activities it is hard to choose which to attend, plus a wonderful fitness center with a large swimming pool. I would recommend Encore Village to any active senior whatever their age.

Encore Village has exceeded our expectations. We moved here before we had to move because, when you do, you have a better opprotunity to adjust to the new surroundings. That has been true for us. Rather than one restaurant to serve us in independent living, we have three restaurants plus a lounge with more than 120 menu items to choose from daily. Lifestyles programs are terrific. The Center for Life-Long Learning provides lectures, discussions, trips and other opportunities to keep your mind sharp and learn. The Fitness Center and pool have two staff experts to assist in just the right exercises for each person. Plus there are crafts, concerts and trips for all to enjoy. Finally, and most important, you won't find a more friendly and welcoming staff and residents. Rather than just sittiing in your single family home or condo without friends close by, Encore Village will provide options for friendships that you will highly value...some just like family!

I will soon be here 10 years! I thoroughly enjoy all the activities, educational, spiritual, and fun - Laff a Minute is led by a graduate of Second City. I enjoy singing in the choir, playing bridge, participating in discussion groups and exercise classes. The food is great and the staff incredibly helpful!

We moved in during [date removed] , received a warm welcome and quickly made many friends. I loved model railroading, and my wife was happy with bridge groups and the in-house swimming pool activities. We each joined a couple of resident advisory committees and got involved in many other activities. It was quite heavenly until Covid hit in [date removed]. We spent five months in near-quarantine, getting meals delivered to our rooms. We gradually picked up activities over the next few months and became 'fully socialized' by mid-2021. We had very few Covid cases and only one fatality that I know of. But the isolation cost us financially. We eventually had to reorganize in 2023 and get used to new management. But now things are back to an even better normal. Food is good as ever and activites are even better, since the new owners have invested in a number of new features. I'd like to give it SIX stars.

Aside from meeting people who became good friends, enjoying a wide variety of well-prepared foods, attending so many wonderful educational and entertaining events, and having onsite access to doctors and medical services, Encore Village is a clean and well-maintained facility where we seniors can live in a carefree environment and where help is immediately available to meet our needs as they arise. My recommendation of Encore Village is without any conditions or reservations.

Everyone that I have met at Encore Village of Schaumburg has been friendly. The staff reports that they are lucky to have my mom, which makes me feel like she has found a great community. The facility has a weekly newsletter with events and news which keeps the residents and family in the loop. The facility is kept clean and has become my Sunday hangout, which includes plenty of hang out areas for board games, game of pool, and great meal. I recommend Encore Village of Schaumburg for a resort type retirement, plenty of daily activities, great restaurant options, and friendly community.

[name removed] was such a pleasure to work with. She was so knowledgeable and comforting while making our decision. The community was beautiful and has everything Mom would need. The size was intimidating at first but we quickly realized Mom will get into a routine and use what she needs. Staff is so cheerful.

Very clean, very friendly staff and residents. They do offer PT here. Great quality of care. There are 4 places on the menu to get food from and that changes every 3 months. The food is freshly made and completely different menus at all 4 places. There are plenty of activities plus educational opportunities, It is a great value for the money. All staff are kind and reliable. I love it here.

The Friendship Village community is very clean and all of the staff members have been wonderful - they are so friendly and we have not met a grumpy person yet. There are several different places inside the community where you can eat and all the meals that are prepared are delicious. There are plenty of activities going on and during the Christmas season they have wonderful entertainment here almost every single night. So far the value is good, and we are very happy with our decision. We would recommend this community to other families.

Was told we would get our entrance fee back in 12 to 18 months when the apartment was empty. They said don't worry what the contract says. It has been 2 1/2 years now with and still no money back, Please Please get a lawyer before you sign up. Still waiting....
This community was more assisted living and I knew that my loved one was needing a higher level of care so these communities did not work. The community was okay I just did not feel like they could provide the needed care she was not independent enough.
