Our overall experience has been positive. DPV is very clean and always has a pleasant scent. They could freshen up some of the walls with paint. There are never things out of place and they keep up with decorations for holidays making it enjoyable for everyone. Recently they've done a better job with keeping my family member's apartment clean. The staff are friendly overall. The quality of care is good. The care team remembers my family member by first name and knows the schedule they typically keep as well as residents they regularly speak with and get together with. Medications are on time. I know the most important needs are being met. My family member likes the options of meals and the two dining options are nice. The food is good. There are an abundance of activities. Due to the large number of residents, there are always people to converse with.Only in comparing with other residences we saw, DPV gives great care and service for the months rent/add-on care. My review is strictly based on assisted living.... Read more

Deer Park Village is really beautiful. Everyone is so kind; residents and staff alike. The reason for 4 stars is one set of elevators was out for too long, they can be short staffed, and I would like more communication from the back office re billing. Easy resolutions for each of those and it is not constant. Overall, it has been quite an adjustment to downsize, but the cleanliness and amenities are amazing. I don’t think there is a better or nicer place in the area. It is great!

Very happy with Deer Park Village. Food is really good. Nursing staff is outstanding. I am never worried about placing [name removed] here. He is in very good care. His room is a very good size. We didn't have much furniture. Full size hospital bed, lazy boy and tv and TV stand. They offer activities but [name removed] chooses not to participate. But I think the events sound wonderful.

They are awesome! Great value, lots of activities, good food. Their entertainment space at the facility is so nice. They have a roof top deck with a putting green and fire pit area and even a dog run for visiting pets that's so nice for residents and guests! The nursing staff is out of this world too!

[name removed] spent two hours touring with me my first visit there convinced me I found the right place. He and [name removed] executive director, extremely friendly and helpful moving in nursing staff is very good. Only negative I see and hear may be short handed a bit with caregivers in assisted living or my mother is more impatient than she should be.

There has been a management change since she moved in. I think they need more care personnel in assisted living and in the dining room. There are lots of opportunities for things to do if you take the initiative to seek them out.

My Mom was at Solano/Deer Park Village for 8 years. Mom was in independent, assisted, then memory care. Everything was great until memory care. I had a camera on my Mom and I saw everything. I was appalled by the treatment. There are of course exceptions to the rule but we left. We were told Mom would we checked even 2 hours at night This never happened in 2 months. Mom feet are alway cold and they couldn't even keep socks on my Mom's feet! The care program is get everybody up early. Sit them in front of the tv until after dinner and then put them to bed. My Mom was not incontinent but need help getting up they never used a saftey belt they use her pants.Employees would tell me in confidence that they were leaving. Its a revolving door. The head nurse would walk past us like we were stangers and we had been there over 8 years. When we left nobody asked us why! I urge the upper management to get involved for the current residents. We were lucky to find a place with absolute angels

There is so much to do there. And you can choose to do it all or just a little or none at all. So flexible!

Deer Park Village has been dealing with staffing shortages, but they are doing the best that they can. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Generally good, the staffing issues are concerning, but I think that across the board staffing is an issue with all sectors. The property and amenities are really great, especially for a person who is willing to use them. The dining was much better when my loved one first moved in, but it's been about a month+ of not great in that part of the community.

We took a tour of Deer Park Village during our search for an Independent Living facility for our loved one. This facility was okay. The atmosphere seemed cozy and comfortable. Everyone was friendly during our tour.
Response from Deer Park Village
October 6, 2023Hello! Thank you so much for your recent review and feedback. I am happy to hear that your visit was largely positive. However, we are always looking at ways to improve and would love to hear any additional feedback on ways we can move from "good" to "great"! Please feel free to reach out to me at 815.690.5420 if you're willing to share more about your experience.
All of the staff at Deer Park Village are outstanding. The meals are very good. The wait staff are always patient with the residents. The move in process was great. The nurses handled my brother while we got his stuff moved in. We have no complaints. This was the best decision that I have made for my brother. I would 100% recommend Deer Park Village to family and friends.

I found the best assisted living facility in the area and am so happy that my mother lived at Deer Park Village. I picked the facility because it is newer, beautifully decorated, everything is in excellent working order. It has great food and I loved that it has a salt water swimming pool. Also the movie theater is superb along with the gorgeous outside rooftop area with bocci ball, a dog run, and fire pits. There is also a hair and nail salon and speakers who come to speak to the residents on different topics. I can't thank A Place for Mom enough for making me aware of DPV as an assisted living option. It lightened my load enormously to know my mom was being taken care of in all ways.

My mother in law is in Independent living. Her room is on the first floor with high ceilings and a screened in porch. It is perfect for her! The activities are all fun to do and they offer so many. I say a lot that she was surviving while living with us and now she is actually living and thriving. So many opportunities if she wants to get involved Definitely would recommend Dial Senior Living!

Since Dial has taken over the management of this community the rent has been raised twice, 17% in two years. There are no activities, meals are substandard and the staff does not return calls. This is a very expensive apartment complex.

If you want your loved one to be well cared for DON’T place them here especially not in the Alzheimer’s unit.

They are very accommodating., and get back to us very fast. The staff is engaging. The staff knows residents by a first-name basis, well I know my mom has experienced that. They keep them busy. There is also new flooring in the dining room area, and new carpet. Overall it's been a great experience.

A Place for Mom has scored Deer Park Village 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
