Victory Centre of Elk Grove recently took over from [community name removed] which was struggling - and things are really improving. My mom was a resident for over 5 years and recently passed. The incredible nursing staff and caregivers (particularly the new Director of Nursing, RN, and their staff) all took such great care of my mom, particularly near the end when she really needed them. They spent time with her and made her feel safe, comfortable, dignified, and loved. The nurses, caregivers, and receptionists are a 5 star team. The facility, food, and cleanliness are also really good (4 stars) which says a lot for a Medicaid facility. We always felt at home when visiting my mom. -- THANKS EVERYONE!... Read more

A lot of contract help was brought in. Staff was always short. They made it pretty clear they didn't want to handle anyone with many extra needs because they are assisted care not nursing.

The building was always clean and they did laundry pretty regularly but I sometimes had to call to remind them and ask them to clean my dad's apartment. Common spaces were always clean. The nursing staff and front door staff were a 5, the administration would be a 4 and the aids were a 2....dad frequently reported issues with the aids. We had some challenges during the time my dad was there, but I think that's bc my dad required more support than they were able to offer so this is reflected in my scores

My brother lives in Victory Centre of Elk Grove Village, IL. I visit him frequently and I have found it to be Clean, Friendly and warm. The Staff from Administration to Nursing, Dining, and Maintence are all warm and caring, they know the residents' names, are respectful and always willing to address their personal needs and requests. We moved my brother from St. Louis, Mo to here in Elk Grove Village. I wasn't sure that he would like it, but he definitly does, which makes me happy, because he is only about 10 minutes away from me and I can take him shopping, to doctors appointments, or just bring him to my place if he wants, and as a matter of fact he did spend the holiday with me and the rest of our family! My sister and I live in a senior apartment complex, and just moved one of our neighbors there as well, and as luck would have it she lives right next door to my brother!! It's a very nice place.

May 28, 2024Thank you for your kind review of our community and team members.
The friendliness of the staff members can vary between a 3 and 5 overall rating depending on the staff member. Update carpeting and furniture and food is a good place to start with improvements. My mom was there during a rough period as the new management took over and many of the employees left. So we were there during a period of transition. Hopefully there are more permanent staff now and things have settled in better.

This was a good community with good staff. The price was more than we wanted to spend.
Even with being understaffed we do believe they are doing the best they can with our loved one. It is expensive but they are doing a lot of our loved one. The personnel has been great to work with.

Alexian Village is a really great place. Like everywhere, they're trying to get more staff. They have a lot of activities for the people who live there, although they could use more variety. I would love to see them add things like art classes and gardening. The staff is really friendly and caring, and they listen well. If I call with any concerns, they immediately take care of it. They've worked together with us to help my mom settle in and feel comfortable there. The staff at all levels - CNAs, nurses, administrators - have gone gone out of their way, and she's doing great now. They do everything they can to help their residents, and I feel at peace knowing my mom is getting good care there. She likes it there and has made friends. And that makes me happy.

We chose Alexian Village primarily because they offered more controlled medication admissions and ensuring that they were taken and that is what he needed. I would say in contrast to some other facilities I looked at, because it is smaller I do feel that the staff are more in tune to the needs of the residents. Therefore they can also be more in tune to my requests and inquiries. I would recommend the facility to other families looking.

I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff were accommodating from the application process to move in to after my loved one passed.

This community is great I just feel like they need better communication. Other than this it has been fantastic getting us moved in and settled. Its just once u get in you don't know what to do or what to expect and the communication on this part could be a bit better.

Response from Victory Centre of Elk Grove
November 17, 2021Thank you for your review. I'm sorry about the lack of communication that you experienced after you moved into our community. Our goal is that everyone has a smooth transition into our community as we know that this can be a very stressful time. I will review this with the team to ensure that we have a better process in place moving forward.
This was a nice community, a little too far from family.
Response from Victory Centre of Elk Grove
October 15, 2021Hello, thank you for the review! We wish your family all the best in finding a community close to home.
Our loved one is not that happy with the meals they are serving, and the activities are still pretty limited. However the dining room is not back open, and we do think the value for cost is nice. Another nice thing is they offer Medicaid, which eventually will be an option for our loved one.

My aunt has been very happy at Alexian Village of Elk Grove. On her birthday they brought a piece of coffee cake with a candle in it and sang her happy birthday. Needless to say, the staff members here are great. They have been great with communication as well and are always keeping us updated. The facility offers tons of activities for residents to participate in, they always have something going. We were looking for a facility that takes medicaid and that provides activities and it just fit the bill perfectly. She is in a larger studio apartment with a full sized kitchen, it is great size for her needs. I am very happy with our choice.

February 4, 2021Hi there, thank you for your review of our community! Our team is honored to provide the service and care your aunt deserves. We look forward to making many new memories together!
I felt safe with my sister in law there. My sister in law did not like the food. The room sizes and layout of the community were good. The staff was very considerate. They accept pets, there is an area in the back where you can walk your dog.

Response from Victory Centre of Elk Grove
April 8, 2020Hello, thank you for contacting us. We are closely following all federal and state guidelines while regularly referring to the CDC. All team members are wearing masks inside the community during this time. As the situation evolves, we are closely monitoring changes and acting on all mandates and regulations. Please give us a call if you have further concerns.
I’d loved seeing so many active seniors interacting with each other and with staff during my visit. The community was clean and I thought my mom would love the outdoor space with the gazebo. Everything seems to be included in the pricing and they have an “age in place” philosophy, which is what we’re looking for. Overall the community might not be a five star resort, but it was very nice and comfortable. We’re planning to follow up to get more information and schedule a lunch for my mom to visit.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
