June 4, 2024Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed our facility and found our team helpful. We'll consider your comments on pricing. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back soon! Kind regards, Alison
My mother has been a resident of Woodholme Gardens for 2 months. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming and has been very supportive to our family. The attention and support the staff gives my mother is exceptional. There’s been numerous times when my mother has had various “emergencies “ and Woodholme Gardens have greatly helped me to get through these challenging situations. The daily activities for memory care residents is excellent for their needs. My mother was moved from another facility in another state which did not come close to Woodholme Gardens excellent service. The entire staff/facility has become part of my family. God bless their efforts.

August 1, 2023Thanks so much for your kind words and positive review of Woodholme Gardens. We'll be sure to share your feedback with the team to ensure they are recognized and celebrated! Warmly, Alison
My experience with Woodholme Gardens was great. I would have given the facility a 5 rating overall, but they had some difficulty managing my mother's diabetes, which was the only reason I transferred my mom to a different facility. Otherwise, she would still be there. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The facility was very clean and maintained. And they also offered a good, diverse dining menu.

I'm very pleased with this facility. What I like about this place is that many of the workers have been here for a long time. The caretaker on the Memory Care floor is amazing. The admissions liaison is someone that I really like. They are a bit understaffed here, but that's not their fault and I know it's happening everywhere. Overall the staff is is busy, working hard, and doing a tremendous job. Everyone loves the food here and the activities are good. I'm VERY happy with the care that my loved one receives here. I've recommended this facility to family and friends.

March 9, 2023Thanks so much PS, for your kind words about the staff, as well as for your positive review of Woodholme Gardens. We value your opinion deeply and will share your 5 Star review with the team members and leadership team. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Warm regards, Alison
The facility itself is beautiful, so that is a plus. But my Mom didn't like the stay. The food was too rich and often made her sick. There had been several staff changes in the kitchen which didn't help. Each time a new chef came in they had to be made aware of my Mom's dietary needs. She didn't feel the costs coincided with the care. These were her chief complaints. There was an incident where my Mom had a visitor and the person at the desk was "harsh and rude" the visitor is 92, in excellent health and mind. She would not fabricate a story such as this. I can personally say that when I sent the coordinator a very pleasant departing email, it was not responded to. For these reasons I would not recommend Woodholme Gardens.

March 9, 2023Hello, thank you for sharing your review. Our company has a clear and focused mission of caring for our residents and our employees. We are certainly pleased, but the one problem we have is communication. If you are visiting and you can speak to the staff and caregivers. The problem lies when trying to reach the staff via the phone, and it is hard to get a return call about the answers to our questions or concerns. They are good at calling us if there is something; however, if we missed a call, and try to return the call the staff won't be able to answer the questions. The internal communication with all the staff could be better, as it would help to be able to speak to the family in a timely manner. The care is good for my loved one. Medication management, transfers, dressing, and bathing assistance are some of the care the community is able to offer my loved one. The room, housekeeping, all the meals, utilities, changing of lines, and laundry service is included in the monthly rate. We do have to supply some medical supplies such as depends, some railings, and more for the community to use for our loved one.

We did not have a good experience at all. The executive director at the time wanted to have a meeting and she proceeded to tell us how our mothers care increased after 2 weeks which would increase the cost dramatically which was not needed. They were not able to tell us why the care needed to be increased. They had a whole calendar of activities that they said they provided but they never happened. All of her clothes as well as her dentures went missing and when we went to move her out, we found out her medications had gone missing. They had a ton of turnover of staff, there were new directors every few months. After we moved her out we kept getting billed from the pharmacy and we were not authorizing the refills. I would never recommend them to others looking.

This was my first time in this situation and having to look for a community. This was a good community and a good tour and the community was nice. I just had to find something that fit in my loved ones budget.

Based on our tour, it seemed like a nice place. But we didn't really see any residents up and about. They were all in their rooms with the doors shut except a couple of ladies doing a craft. We were there right after lunch, so maybe it was naptime. But not seeing residents around made me feel a little leary.

Woodholme Gardens was my first choice out of the facilities that I was looking into. But once I was ready to take next steps, they were slow to respond and I was in a hurry since my loved one was being discharged from the hospital.

I loved the community. The only downfall was the room. It was small room with a small closet and no kitchen. The staff was awesome! We spoke with the residents, and they gave glowing reviews too of the community.

Just moved my father out, Administrator number 3 since he got there 8 months ago. Nurse [name removed]is horrible, uncaring and lazy. The sales person was nice enough, but was not very caring once you moved in.

We chose Woodhomle Gardens at the time because they had low covid numbers and they have been able to keep it under control. There were also some familiar faces here for my mom as well. I think they could use improvement on the cleanliness in the residents rooms, they are short staffed but it seems like they are trying. I think they are trying to rebuild so it is up and down but they seem to be picking up more residents.

I wanted to express my appreciation and recognition for [name removed]. He is truly caring and accommodating for family and my father. He is always attentive and listening which is a lost art today but so needed in human services. [names removed] have done a great jog coordinating these visits. What I like about [name removed] despite his busy schedule he gets back to you promptly. Also [name removed] that works with [name removed] is Great Too! Both are so patient. [name removed] is so positive and caring. My father. Loves the Ravens. She makes sure and reminds him about the games. She has been so flexible helping with video chats which has been our lifeline. [name removed] has a heart of Gold. Before the virus his activities and organization are superb!! He does the best Happy Hour. My father does not like activities but thanks to [name removed] the Happy Hour is a hit. They both are good team and what they do makes a difference. It is so important to have stable staff, I hope they will be here for a quite awhile #livefullylovefully

Staff The administration continually changes. In the 6 months that I had my dad there the facility has had 3 different directors. This signals internal turmoil management wise or a facility that is impossible to run. It is clear that the greater organization that Woodholme is a part of is for profits and not it's residents. You pay top dollar, but get the bare bones. The nursing staff is quite good, but once again it changes often, however the aides and other support staff is another story. I will first say that there are some aides that are pretty amazing and they want to be there and want to help. However many are down right nasty. When my mother wasn't moving fast enough with their requests, they would talk to her as if she were stupid or just be downright snappy. This happened with more than several aides and the nurse tech is just awful. All she does is dispense medication. If you ask her something as simple as "Who is responsible for cleaning the bathroom", She will be quick to say that she isn't house keeping. My point is that the nurses tech will do nothing outside of her job, not even point you in the direction of something and then she acts as if she doesn't even want to be there. This isn't a one time instance, this happened on 2 or more occasions. The rude staff behavior is constant. They act as if you are bothering them, when help is requested. I have had staff roll their eyes at me when asked to drop something off in a room during a pandemic. Again this is not all staff, but several of the staff members have these qualities and it happens often enough to point out. Answering the call light. It does not happen in a timely manner. They claim someone comes within 7 minutes, but this simply is not true. My mother fell many times trying to get to the bathroom, because she was waiting for over 30 minutes for them to come and assist her. This tells me the facility does not have the personnel to meet the demands of the residents. Medication Doses were missed of crucial medicine under the guise of "the pharmacy didn't send it." I actually called behind to check and the pharmacy assured me their courier dropped the meds off producing actual documentation of such. Their medication management is quite poor. No resident should ever be without their medication. Cleanliness The common areas are quite clean and bright. The dining area is lovely and the common bathrooms are very clean and without odor. When it comes to keeping the residents rooms clean, it is horrible. My parents bathroom stayed filthy and so did the floor, countertops, and their refrigerator. These are tasks that they can not do, and the facility knew this. As a family, we didn't even bother to fight that fight with this facility as we were so busy advocating for other things for our parents. I had to hire an outside service to come and clean their room. Transportation The transport is in bad need of repair and it is quite a rough ride. It would be OK for a healthy person, but not the elderly with fragile systems. Pricing You are basically paying for an overpriced apartment for your loved one. If you are going to pay a high price such as this, then really do your due diligence or even see if you can upgrade into another tier of assisted living facilities. We kept our parents home many years before placing them here. We didn't just dump them there. The only reason they got half way decent, and I stress half way...is because we were there and present all of the time. Look elsewhere. This company does not deserve your money.

The rooms are cleaned on a regular basis. They have had a lot of change in management and weren't good about communicating the changes to the families. Communication with the families is something they need to work on. A lot of the staff show a lot of compassion with the residents and they try to do their jobs the best they can with what they've got.

My 96 year old grandmother had an awful experience there. We had to more her after six weeks. Another resident ransacked her room and then the staff couldn't find her. When we got there, we found her sitting in the dining room shaking and the resident who ransacked her room was sitting next to her. It was very disappointing. Then the doctor discontinued a medication and the staff continued the administer the medication for an additional four days. After that, she had pink eye and the staff didn't provide the cleaning or treatment ointment as directed by the doctor. In the end, the community did refund our money at 100 % to resolve the situation. It really was the worst experience that you could imagine would ever happen to your loved one.

Paradise Assisted Living was not very appealing. Furniture and rooms seemed worn, old. Greeting was not as relaxed. First mentioned cost, before we had looked at anything at that point. Perhaps it was because we were late.
