She loves the activities and the community. [name removed] is over the moon with the care she has received, the cleanliness of the building, the quality of the food and the responsiveness to her needs.

February 20, 2024Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind review and recommendation for Atrium Village in Owings Mills, MD. I am so happy to hear that the staff are friendly and helpful. We are very committed to excellent services for the residents.
The staff at Atrium Village have been wonderful. They made a tough transition for my mom much more palatable. She was still in mourning for my Dad and was uprooted from her home to this Senior Living Facility. I didn't think she would come around so soon. The staff made that transition happen, all in 4 months time. [Name removed], the Executive Director there, is just like his name. A spiritual song that soothed my mom's spirit. He would send pictures of her smiling and enjoying the activities. He gave me comfort that my mom was in good hands and care. The staff were there to encourage her and to assist her. She went from not eating, to gaining 25 pounds. Communication with the family has been great. Me and my brothers get called often with concerns, like a change in her habits or hints for dealing with certain situations. They've been awesome, we love them! Mom is doing very very well.

November 28, 2023Thank you, Dwayne for taking the time to leave your review and your kind words regarding your mother's care at Atrium Village in Owings Mills, MD. I am so happy to hear that she is doing so well. We take great pride in our services and are very proud of our staff. It is a privilege and an honor to serve you and your mother.
It was not enjoyable as a total experience for my Mother and me. It was probably more affected because of the lack of staffing and the use of " fill in " personnel which changed always . Weekends were horrendous in terms of the provision of care. Knowing what I know now and had experienced with Mom , I would not have her there as a resident. I selected this place because of its proximity to my home . The other places that I visited were unacceptable on many levels in terms of safety, sanitation and location.

November 22, 2023Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We take feedback like yours very seriously. I'm sorry to learn of your experience at Atrium Village. We strive very hard to provide excellent care and a comfortable environment for the residents living in our community. Temporary staffing is always challenging at its best. We have made several recent changes to address concerns such as yours to reduce temporary staffing dependency and improve the overall experience for all residents residing at Atrium Village. Thank you again for your candid feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
My loved one and family have had a good experience with Atrium Village. The staff is kind and caring. Everyone is friendly. There are activities and meals provided to assist with socialization of the residents. This is a community we would recommend. While the facility is rather expensive, the staff is extremely accommodating and will work with you to try and meet your budget. There is a shuttle service, but it could use some improvement. Overall great experience.

May 26, 2023Families are always welcome here. We think of you as part of this community. Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us.
We had a really great experience with the Sales Director, and the move to Atrium Village was so easy. My dad was able to tour before we signed the lease, and he was really excited to transfer. The inside of the faciity is beautiful. After moving dad in, some of us sat by one of the firepalces to just catch our breath and relax. My dad is making friends and playing pool almost everyday. He was assisgned a "buddy" for the first month to show him around and do things with. They became fast friends and he joined us for dinner, in Dad's room the last time we were there. They grab each other when it's meal time and check in one one another. There are activities that I still have to nudge Dad to go participate in , but there is literally a full calendar of things for him to do daily. Dad is on the Assisted Living side, which we are really happy about, but wish it wasn't so segregated. There is a different calendar of activities for the Assisted Living folks, so my dad is limited to the number of people he can mingle with. Other than that, we love that we don't have to worry about Dad taking his medication, and he tells me people are in and out of his room all of the time. Everyone is so kind, and all the employees are pleasant and know my Dad very well. There is a Nurse Paractitioner that visits twice a week, to see the residents and is already getting to know my Dad. There is a really nice therapy room, and my Dad goes several times a week, it's like a gym membership to him. They also coem to his room to work on his memory and he loves the attention. Lastly, the website showed an outdoor, inground pool but it does not exist. We were really looking forward to Dad spending the summer at the pool. Other than, that we are 100% happy with the move to Atrium Village and really proud of Dad for being so adaptable.

April 21, 2023Thank you for your kind words and compliments of Atrium Village. We're so happy dad is adjusting well and making new friends.
Atrium Village was too commercial and didn't seem like "home", and we witnessed the bingo instructor yelling at a resident when we were there for our tour.

Value for the money, activities, food and cleanliness are the weak spots. There is no on site owner of the facility. If the 2 elevators in the assisted living building, one has been out of order since the end of august. The elevators are disgusting.

August 17, 2022It’s our pleasure having your loved one as part of our community. We believe in treating our residents like family. Thank you for your feedback.
My mother is in memory care, she is in a secure area. The staff needs to do better with memory care, I believe they could improve with the care or get more specialized staff for the memory care patients. The food is good, the place is nice and clean.

I toured Atrium Village and it was a very nice tour with a very nice person. It boiled down between Atrium and another community, we were going to send my loved one here. When I went to the state of Maryland's Covid reporting system, I saw that they had a lot of Covid cases. I don't think Atrium was really telling people about the amount of cases they had, so that's what made me change my mind.

August 2, 2022With all our options for care, there’s a lot to take in during a visit. Please stop by again. Thank you for your review, and let us know if we can help you in the future.
I'm kind of dissapointed. They are not doing what hey need to do. For example, They are supposed to help dad, with his selection of clothing, and they are not doing that. He is not getting the help that he needs. The staff is very friendly and nice. Again they are not doing everything that they should be doing. There is no complaints about the food. Dad does not participate in activites but attends exercise classes, three times per week. It is expensive, and I am not real happy righ now but I am satying optimistic, and hoping things will get better. Anuyone else looking into this community, should stay on top of things, that should be done.

July 21, 2022Because we’re committed to the safety and happiness of your loved one, we would like to know more about this situation as soon as possible. Would you mind reaching out to our team with more details? We’ll be able to further assess the situation and resolve this matter.
The community is very understaffed where my loved one is located in the community. The staff communication isn't what it needs to be, as the staff doesn't get back to the family within 24 hours. There is no way for the residents to alert the staff that they have fallen and can't get up or need any assistance. The staff ratio is typically 3 staff members for the residents that are in the specific are where my loved one is in. I end up caring for my loved one during the visits, and this has caused more stress for me. It is waste of money due to the community not being able to provide the care that my loved one needs, and that the community said they would be able to provide the care that they said they would. There have been personal belongings removed for my loved one's possession since being in the community. The community is willing to accommodate the staff more than the residents.

Atrium Village is a HUGE facility. You get a very cooperate feeling from them from the second you walk in, it just felt cold. The facility is beautiful and has a lot of updates and fancy fireplaces. We walking into the memory care wing and it looked like it had not been touched by any of these updates and was painted burgundy and green. They said it just had updates but it did not look like it.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
