While the food is great, service in the dining room is hit or miss. It's either great or terribly slow. The TV service is also spotty. Administratively there seems to be a lack of attention to detail - misspellings and conflicting times printed in newsletters and activity sheets. They are currently in the middle of a huge construction project. At the moment, I would not recommend them.

Response from The Roosevelt at Salt Creek
December 4, 2024Thank you for taking the time to share your positive feedback. We are happy to have you at The Roosevelt at Salt Creek!
We are so glad that we moved my mom into independent living at the Roosevelt at Salt Creek. She had lived at a different senior facility for over 12 years which was continually finding ways to cut corners to the detriment of the residents. The staff at The Roosevelt is the exact opposite! They find additional things to do for my mom that are not even their job, to make life easier for her and to add to the family feeling of the community. The facility is beautiful, the food in the dining room is delicious and the activities are varied and enjoyable. My mom is getting physical therapy regularly and has started to see the medical group onsite as well as the podiatrist. Mom is thriving at The Roosevelt and we are so relieved that she is safe and happy.

Response from The Roosevelt at Salt Creek
September 1, 2024Hi Laurie P, thank you so much for your positive comments about The Roosevelt at Salt Creek! Our team strives to deliver an excellent experience, and are glad you found this to be the case. If you have further needs or questions, please reach out!
I was invited by a friend to attend this event and dance for/with some of the residents. Thus, I was there more as a dance host than a potential client The place is beautiful and the staff and residents were all kind, gracious, helpful, and enthusiastic. This was a wonderful event for the residents. I was more than happy to attend and would make myself available for future events of this type.

I'm a vendor and I went to The Roosevelt at Salt Creek today and I needed to review this warm place. As a vendor I have been to many Independent facilities which all have been beautiful but this place gave me a very warm feeling. The minute I walked in it just felt like home and not like a feeling your in a hotel. I was led to one of thier newly remodeled units and once again so pretty and warm. I would recommend anyone looking for the warm home feeling to stop and take a look.

Response from The Roosevelt at Salt Creek
January 4, 2024Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of The Roosevelt at Salt Creek in Elmhurst. We value the relationships we earn by supporting not just our prospective residents, but their family members as well. We strive to help families recognize the benefit of making this decision proactively. We look forward to welcoming your family to The Roosevelt soon!
Our experience as a family has been met with better than imagined expectations by both the staff and current residents. We moved our mom here a few months ago. Since then, she has been more active in her physical ability as well as socialization then the past 10 years!! The community has so much to offer in the way of programs such as a personal trainer, a pool and a variety of classes to participate to keep mom moving. Beyond that, the residents at the community are hugely involved in making sure my mom and others have the support from neighbors whether it be participating in an event, dining together or being there in their time of need. Our family is blessed to have chosen The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. The staff and residents make “home” a welcoming place to be.

It has gone downhill from what it used to be, and learned level of care with assisted living, is not very good according to friends with loved ones there.
Response from The Roosevelt at Salt Creek
January 4, 2024Thank you for taking the time to provide your review. We are happy to share that as of June, 2023 our community is now under new ownership and management. The Roosevelt at Salt Creek will begin a multi-million-dollar renovation project starting in early 2024. We are now managed by Life Care Services (LCS) who have earned #1 Customer Satisfaction among Senior Living providers for 5 years in a row. We welcome the opportunity to meet you again to share the commitments made to our valuable residents as well as our exciting plans for growth and renovation.
Our experience has been with the assisted living side of the community. It is a good option for someone who is in need of additional help, but still would like to socialize. The staff are fairly responsive with any questions or concerns we may have about our loved one.

Lexington Square, Elmhurst is a great independent and assisted living community. My father has been there about 6 years. There’s something for everyone for enjoyment. This is also one of the few communities that has basically kept Covid out. I highly recommend it! Only regret my family has is that he didn’t make the move sooner. Prior to Covid they had so many outings you could sign up for, Cubs games, plays, architectural tours of Chicago on a boat on Chicago river and more. Beautiful dining room and spacious apartments. Staff and residents very welcoming. Now with Covid around the CDC rules of masks & social distancing continue but hopefully this too shall pass. People still visit in the lobbies but chairs a bit farther apart. I applaud the director for doing an excellent job keeping residents safe during this. Plus all residents received vaccines on site long ago. Excellent place to live

I regret moving my Mom to the Assisted Living floor from her previous unit. She was supposesd to get 24-hour care. She is deaf and almost blind, so her children cannot even communicate with her on the phone. Lexington cannot even bother to show her how to operate the AC. Beacuse of this Corono Virus, they won't let my sister in to help her. She is crying every night and we are trying to figure out how to get her out of there. Don't take your mother there. All they are interested in is getting your money.

I chose Lexington of Elmhurst based on location, I wanted to be close to Elmhurst Hospital. After touring here I cancelled my other tours. Staff is amazing and the residents are friendly. They go out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible with the quarantine. They are doing a great job. Food is excellent.

Don't put anyone you love in this awful place. It may look nice but is run by the most incompetent staff I have ever seen. And the CNA's are horrible to the residents

Very disappointed in theedocal care at Lexington of Elmhurst. My mother was admitted and waited over 3 weeks to see a doctor upon her admission. Then, despite requesting and being assured that she would receive podiatric care in February, the podiatrist did not see her in February or in April. She developed several pressure sores on one of her feett necessitating an ER visit and her doctor, [Removed] to honor an appointment to see her. He came to the facility, saw two other patients and left. He was contacted by the staff and refused to come to see her for another 3.5 weeks. The ER physician recommended wound care as well as 2 systemic antibiotics after debriding the wounds. My sister went to Lexington to meet the wound care provider from the Lexington system at 8 am who never showed up. She complained to the management after waiting for 1.5 hrs for the wound care provider.. The director finally arranged for another service to provide the wound care. Ridiculous medical care for $6100.00/month.

A Place for Mom has scored The Roosevelt at Salt Creek 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
