Cordia Senior Residence

Overall experience- it's been good. Staff is very friendly and as helpful as possible. Dad's a little bored, but that's pretty much of his own lack of engagement. I will note their men's events tend to be on lacking in frequency and level of engagement. Cleanliness of the facility - nice and clean. Friendliness - very friendly Quality of care - it's good, they seem to have gone through some rejiggering of care systems so that produced a gap in the care giving relative to PT and OT. Food - good enough. Activities - see above. Value for the money - commensurate with other providers in the area. They have been god about adjusting his level of care points when he is doing well. (He's had a couple of falls)

Very happy that we selected Cordia for our parents!

After visiting several place we decided on Cordia, and are thrilled with our decision for our parents. They are receiving GREAT care, feel happy, safe and secure. My dad can be a private guy, but still enjoys the live music, the good food and friendly staff and is looking forward to the weekly summer BBQ's (he loves food off a grill). My mom is social (again) and is loving the daily chair exercise (wish my dad was!), the brain games, the gardening, the happy hours, and all the outings - she loves being busy. We get a copy of the weekly activities to help remind my mom of all her options. We love visiting them and seeing them happy and so well cared for. I highly recommend you check out Cordia if you are looking for friendly and caring place for your parents. 5 stars!

DO NOT fall for the false promises at Cordia if you care about your loved ones

I'm writing this review about CORDIA SENIOR RESIDENCE in Westmont, Il. If you are considering Cordia for a loved one, please run, don’t walk far away from this facility, if you truly love your family member. Please learn from our tragedy. My mom lived there from [date removed] 2023 until [date removed] 2024 when she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. If Cordia had done what they told us was part of their daily routine to check on their residence, our mom may still be with us. When we met with [name removed] (director of Community Relations/Marketing) she certainly is good at her job, she makes you feel like she’s your best friend and tells you anything you want to hear. The most important thing for my brothers and I was that our mom was in a safe and caring place. The activities, outings, etc were great but the one thing that was most important to us was her safety and well being. [name removed] told us that each resident had a “green light” in their apartment and if the resident didn’t t

Cordia is Wonderful

Cordia is a great place! My father lived there and loved it. Our only regret is that he did not move there sooner. We transferred him to Cordia from another facility. For people seeking the VA’s Aid and Attendance pension benefit, Cordia is the perfect choice. Other facilities (even very expensive ones) do not license every bed as assisted living, and therefore residents at those facilities don’t qualify for Aid and Attendance if they are in independent living. (Be very careful if you are applying for Aid and Attendance since there is a lot of misinformation given out by other facilities). Cordia’s caregivers are Cordia employees, not from an outside agency. When we asked various employees how long they’ve been at Cordia, we were impressed by their length of employment. Unlike some facilities, Cordia does not separate residents who require more assistance from those who don’t. Assisted living residents remain in their same unit and still be part of the Cordia community.

The director was very nice, knowledgeable and not aggressive. She and their admission manager came to my moms house for the evaluation for care. Made her feel very comfortable. The tour experience was good. Saw the actual apartment she chose.

Highly recommend

My mom has now lived at Cordia for a year. My mom was living with me but she was bored and I was exhausted. She was very resistant to moving, but she is now loving her new life, the staff takes great care of her and she has new friends and things to do she enjoys. She loves the live music (every week) and the exercise classes. We are thrilled with Cordia!

So far it has been a positive experience

We chose Cordia Senior Residence because I liked the longevity of the staff. A lot of them had been there a long time. Many of the other places that I I went it seemed like they had a lot of staff turnover. I thought the room and space was also very nice and updated. My only criticism would be that on the weekends they do have some temporary staff, so sometimes things aren't as smooth as they are during the week - but this is something that happens wherever you go. I would recommend Cordia to other families.

Supportive independent living

We chose Cordia Senior Residence because of the location and it was a month by month payment rather than a big buy in. It has been working out very well and we are very pleased. They have various room sizes to choose from, she is in a one bedroom and it is fantastic for her. The first 6 weeks she was here we ate here quite a bit and the food was great, but since COVID they are on a 5 week menu plan so it gets a little repetitive. But the great thing is they have a special for the day as well as other options if she doesn't like what is being served. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.

So glad we found Cordia

This is a beautiful property. The units are on the small side, but well-maintained. My mom has a lovely view of the golf course that is adjacent to the property. The staff are competent, warm, and attentive. They seem truly invested in providing great support and establishing positive relationships with the residents. The residents are a very happy group, which I think says a lot about the quality of care they receive, and the overall living environment. The food is good, and nutritionally sound. There is no shortage of activities, and the activities staff is responsive to suggestions from the residents and their families.

Went on a tour here - Several current residents stopped and talked to me - telling me how great this place is. Seems like a lot is going on all the time, and my co-workers mom is here (did not know that when I started looking). She says the care is excellent. Very impressed. (Now if I can just convince my mom to move!)

Wonderful Choice

Cordia Senior Residence has been a wonderful choice for my aunt. We are so happy with the level of care that they are providing for her. They are also working with us while we are in the process of selling the house to be able to stay here. The staff is very organized and the environment is very warm and welcoming. I have dined there with my aunt and the food is quite good. They have a resident Dr. and nurse on board so my aunt has switched Dr.s because she likes him and it is so convenient. They offer an assortment of activities in and outside of the community such as golf, casinos, and shopping. My aunt has a dog as her main activity and the other residents enjoy having him there too. The maintenance crew was amazing, they helped her hang things to make her place so it looks just like home and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this community to others.

Clean Property!!

My father has recently moved into this community and I am hoping to get my mother there shortly too. The staff are very attentive to his needs and make sure he is comfortable in his new living environment. They have a great activity program available to him if he chooses to enjoy throughout the week. The only complaint he has so far is the meals. He thinks there could be better quality and more of a variety to choose from.

Response from Cordia Senior Residence

July 17, 2017

I am so happy your dad is enjoying his life here at Cordia. I look forward to having your mom join him soon. I am glad he is finding our staff is very attentive to his needs, and that he is able to take advantage of the multitude of programs Cordia provides. Creating opportunities for our residents to continue to lead a meaningful life is important to the entire Cordia staff. We also take great pride in providing high quality food and a wide variety of options for each meal so our residents have a great dining experience every day! I will talk to your dad directly to see what concerns he has, and if there is something in particular he might want to see on the menu. We work closely with our residents to make sure they have selections that meet there needs and are delicious! Please feel free to contact me directly if I can be of any assistance. [removed]
