I would like to comment on [name removed], Executive Director. He has been so very helpful with transitioning my Mom into Carriage Court Grove City. He is always there when I need help or just any questions. When I see him, he always invites me into his office to discuss my Mom and asks how's she doing and is there anything he can do. He always steps up to the plate to make our experience so pleasant. He struggles with keeping help in the kitchen as everyone does these days, but he's right there making it work with the staff he has! When we first moved Mom in over a year ago I needed to get my sister who was living with my Mom due to her disability into her own apartment, he took his own time to get me a list of recommended places. [Name removed] is top notch!! That's one of the main reasons we choose Carriage Court! Nursing staff from the Nursing Administrator [name removed], to the nurses like [name removed] are incredible. I would highly and have recommended Carriage Court to all my friends, and acquaintances. I'm around a lot of people in GC and tell everyone. Thanks for your staff!!!... Read more

The facility is well maintained and clean. It is really a pretty facility with lots of activities for the residents. Their biggest problem is they seem to always be short staffed for kitchen help and aids. And the concern I hear from the residents is that the food is often cold. The turnover rate of their kitchen help and aids seems to be high to me.

Staff is very pleasant to interact with in they go above and beyond to help you. Compared to the last home we were in, This place is much more homely as most places in more industrial. More about money. This place seems to be more about the people.

The executive director here is very friendly and willing to work with you. The room sizes are decent compared to others that we looked at. They do offer a lot of fun activities for the residents. I would definitely recommend Carriage Court of Grove City to others.

We chose Carriage Court of Grove City because of their competitive pricing, the staff, and the location. My loved one only lived here for four days on hospice before she passed away. The staff during her stay here were very caring and helpful to her and to our family.

The administrator, [name remove], has always been very helpful and responsive to all our request. The response time from some of the aids at times has been much longer than we would have liked. However, I understand the shortage of help right now. The biggest concern I hear from the residence is that the food has little variety and hard to eat due to meat being tough and vegetables are al dente and hard to chew. The facility has been updated and is pleasant.

When we toured the community, we thought is was acceptable and a good tour. However, we found the community was older and the rooms were smaller than we wanted. It just wasn't right for our needs.
Our loved one had spent several months at Carriage Court and we have to say it was a very poor experience. They have changed executive directors since then, but all of their system they have in play are not good. Everything from food, to individual service, to their follow throughs with personal care and just everything in general need to be worked on. We were paying more and receiving much less.
Our loved one really likes Carriage Court of Grove City because it feels more homey, it is not over populated and the location is very convenient for our family. The quality and quantity of the meals is fantastic and our loved one does not always participate in the activities but they do offer different things to keep the residents busy

Every time I come to visit my loved one is just sitting in her room. There is never anything going on for the residents. Whenever I go visit I have a hard time finding any staff to get any information. There has been some miscommunication with staff and they are very organized at all. When I looked at the facility at first, I really liked it because there is a great bit field in the back but my loved one has not been able to use it once and that was the main reason we sent her there. The staff try to tell me that my loved ones dog is using the bathroom inside but we know for a fact that that is not true. Overall it has not been a good experience.

Nice but too pricey.
We did an in person tour with Carriage Court and we were only able to see the units but not the common areas. It is a fancy, upscale facility. The units were very nice and had granite counter tops. It was just too expensive for what we were looking for.
We did a virtual tour with Carriage Court of Grove City. We were actually going to choose this facility, but they only have studio apartments in assisted living and we were looking to move both of them in together so the room was just too small.
Carriage Court is a very caring community. The building is a little dated, so if someone has a walker or wheelchair it could be difficult to get around. However, the community is extremely caring. The community adepts quickly to all the COVID regulations that change. They kept the families updated with all the changes.

The staff is wonderful. The food is lacking, the food and snacks are not what we were told they would be. It is a clean, bright and homey place. Activities are sparse. Staff tries their best. There is a lot of turn over which is hard on the residents. The staff has become my mom's family during the Covid-19. They have an outdoor walking area.

Response from Carriage Court Of Grove City
June 12, 2020Thank you Terri. We appreciate your feedback, both constructive and positive and will pass onto our team. We're glad our staff could make a difficult time for your mother a little easier!
While walking through I never saw residents that looked happy. They were all spread out and would be alone sitting in an area. Didn't seem like a very social happy place at all.

Amazing service and care by the staff. We were (and still are) very appreciative of them during our father’s last days. They did everything to make sure he was comfortable and well taken care of. The facility was very clean and made to feel like home.

Response from Carriage Court Of Grove City
August 8, 2019Thank you for your kind review Charlotte. It was an honor to care for your father. We will pass your thoughts onto our staff and wish your family only the best!
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's several years ago so we decided to sell her house and find Assisted Living, I hired attorney [name removed] to help with Medicaid, he recommended that I hire a company called [removed] and they introduced us to Carriage Court in Grove City, we were taken for a tour and we thought we had found the perfect place for my mother. We met with the Administer and explained Mom's situation with Medicaid, she had around $80,000 in the bank so we were in a "spend-down" which mostly went to Carriage Court for monthly rent. Once we had spent all of Mom's money on rent we we're relying on her SSI payment to get her by until Medicaid kicked in, her SSI payment doesn't get to her account until the [dates removed] of the month but Carriage Court kept sending late notices, I explained to them several times about the SSI payment but the late notices continued. My attorney kept contact with Medicaid and Carriage Court throughout the situation and they were able to file a motion of "Act 52" to get the arrearages paid up by Medicaid. While on a visit today to see my mother and take her a few items I was approached by the administrator [name removed] who asked me what I was going to do about the arrearages and that he was planning on moving forward with evicting my mom, I calmly explained the "Act 52" to him and that it would be paid up, he said he was moving forward with the eviction. When I arrived to start moving mom I was met by the administer [name removed] and two police officers who were there because of the way I "got a bit angry" while in the office of the administer. After explaining the situation to the officers they were shocked and left after about 20 minutes. I wasn't prepared to move everything so I asked the administrator. [Name removed] if I could come back and pick some things up later and he told me if I didn't have everything out that he would put what was left on the porch of Carriage Court. One of the maintenance men/bus drivers from Carriage Court saw what was happening and offered to help, he got the Carriage Court bus and helped me load my mom's things and deliver them, if it wasn't for [name removed] helping me I don't know what I would have done that day. Thank God that my mom's best friend was the owner of a nursing home and her children run it these days, it only took one phone call and my mom is now in a place that she knows and people love and care for her.
