We chose Wexner Heritage Village Creekside and Cottages because of the proximity to my house, it's only 10 minutes away. When she was in assisted living, I went there two to three times per week. My sister is pickier than most when it comes to food, and the food is kosher. She loves a good cheeseburger, but I think it's fine for most people.

My siblings live together in a spacious two bedroom apartment. The staff and residents are very friendly and helpful. There are activities for the residents and hopefully there will be more and diverse activities added to the main schedule soon.

I love the ambiance of the facility. The furnishings in the common areas are 'elegant'. I live in one of the least expensive units but it is spacious, has crown molding, six panel doors, a washer dryer in the unit and floor to ceiling windows with shears. The kitchen is also very updated. The staff is friendly and kind. I am classified as "independent living" but after a recent surgery, nursing staff were available to checked on me and assisted with dressing changes. The only drawback I have to the facility is the cost. I believe the costs are inline with similar facilities. However, I was spoiled. I was admitted on a special. My monthly rent was $[removed]less per month for the first year. During that year everyone got a [removed]% increase in their rent. On my one year anniversary, my rent increased $[removed]. The facility is pet friendly and during my first year I got a dog. This was a one time charge of $[removed]and a monthly charge of $[removed]. As I said these costs are in line with other facilities, but have necessitated that I look at other, less expensive, independent senior apartments. I hope this has been helpful. I've recently been diagnosed with Cancer and will be starting immunotherapy. This fact has changed my mind about looking for other housing.

The areas in which my mother experienced were the Skilled Nursing Rehab area, and The Cottages. Half the time, I removed the trash from her room. They'd clean maybe 2-3 times a week. The showers were clean, because they were rarely used. The bedding and the wash cloths and towels had stains on them, and were cleansed " in-house", instead of having a cleaning company come get them, since the bathing towels and wash cloths, and bed linens were white. The ones who dealt with my mother were friendly however with the staff who handles the business end, billing, coordinating your loved-one's stay there we give a 2. When my mother stayed there, I pretty much gave her, her bath, washed her hair, helped her brush her teeth. Big screen T.V. did most of the babysitting of these people. Way over priced

My loved one was not there long enough to enjoy any activities. And I have the same rating for the hospice there! Super overall & would recommend to anyone! Their care and understanding to me as well as [name removed] was outstanding.

We couldn't have found a better place for mom. The whole staff really cares more than average., and they go out of their way to make people feel comfortable. For us, and our situation the cost was a driving factor. This was one of the best places we saw. This food is Kosher which wasn't a factor for us. Mom is having the time of her life in Memory Care, she's doing more now than she's done in years! They keep them busy all day!

My loved one is currently a resident at Wexner Heritage Village Creekside and Cottages and everything has been very good for her at this facility so far. Most of the staff are great. There are a few not so great ones, but they are still probably better than most. Communication with the family isn't great. It's Assisted Living, so they aren't staffed for a high level of care and my loved one can be challenging.

Wexner Heritage Village Creekside and Cottages is the most beautiful place in Columbus with the sweetest and most passionate people who work here. I highly recommend this facility to anybody. The facility is clean, the food is amazing, and they have tons of great activities provided for the residents to participate in. I love the experience we had here and so did my dad.

Wexner Heritage Village is the worst place to take your loved one because in the skilled nursing part of the area, they try to over medicate you, if you are a dialysis patient. You have to constantly advocates for yourself, and practically know your own medication schedule. In the skilled Nursing part, I was responsible for emptying my mother's trash out of her room, most times when I was there. But the facilities wash cloths and bath towels, look like something they have been donated 5 years ago. As much money per patient,( at least [fee removed] via insurance payment per patient) you'd think this place would afford a laundry service, instead of cleansing the linen " in-house". The wash cloths and towels my mother received, still had blood stains on them, because they appeared to not be properly cleaned and sterilized. This was both at the Skilled Nursing, and worse at The Cottages. In the Cottages, everything looked as if it had been " donated" or " borrowed". Even the blankets and bed quilts appeared to be old and raggedy looking. The staff members I encountered, who cared for my mother, for the most part were decent toward her. Only one was slightly impatient with her, but the rest were nice, in Skilled Nursing. In The Cottages, every aid who worked with my mother, was nice to her. They also felt, that my mother was wrongly assessed for even staying there within that area, and wondered how or why she was not staying in Creekside, for as " lucid" as she was. All staff who worked with my mother were in agreement, that she was " out-of-place, and wrongly assessed to be staying in that part of the Wexner Heritage Village, period. There was one aid, who attempted to help my mother either wash up, or actually " shower". But 46 out of the 49 days my mother stayed at this facility, I ( [name removed, her daughter ) gave my mother an actual bath, lathering her up from head to toes, rinsing her off, drying her off, lotioning her body, and addressing the bed sores on her bottom that were starting to form. Two days, before she passed away, [date removed], my mother was in the bed, still in her clothes from that morning, after having gone to dialysis, which was 10 am, chair time; until 530- 6pm, my mother was in bed, fully clothed, which meant she had not been checked upon since she had completed her dialysis session, or she hadn't been brought dinner, in which again, someone should have noticed her still fully clothed, and should have helped her get undressed for bed. Of course, when I saw her like this, I undressed her, washed her up for the night, helped her brush her teeth, lotions her peeling face, and put her pj's on her. This experience with the group was a nightmare. The patients appear to be so hungry at mealtime, the ones who can tolerate the taste of the food, practically scarf their food down. My mother simply couldn't tolerate their food at either facility Skilled Nursing or The Cottages, so I supplied her with Ensure protein drinks and Zone protein bars in her room. They did offer my mother peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but sometimes, they'd just drop it off in her room, and she didn't even know it was there, because they'd just Crack the door, and leave it on her tray, and not take it out of the bag for her, so she could see what it was. They had Yoga, Stretching class, Music, which was a guy entertaining them, by singing and playing the piano. I never saw any type of board game, like checkers, chess, or even connect four, or something. In other facilities, I've seen at least 6 hours worth of activities: I can't speak for Creekside, because my mother was never given the opportunity to stay there. According to the" powers that be", my mother required more care than they were equipped to give her at Creekside, even though I was told they provided levels of Respite care...this proved to be a lie, so she was forced to stay in The Cottages, in which she unfortunately met her demise. This is a minus one I have given, because of all the above I have told you. I provided most of the actual care for my mother, the whole time she stayed at both areas: as far as her " personal care", with maybe the exception of 3 days. This place is paid at least again as I mentioned [ fee removed] per Insurance, and then when insurance stops paying, you are then charged [fee removed] per day, or close to [fee removed] per 30 days, depending on so-called level of care, your loved one requires. In summation, I would not have my dog stay at this place. And please beware of how they assess patients to determine e whether they can stay at Creekside, or The Cottages. The patients are assessed by an LPN not a APRN- CNP, or one who specializes in mental. This facility just does the bare minimum quality of care in everything they do. They have a doctor who's there in name only, whom I've never met, but yet signs documents, as if he has seen and assessed everyone of those patients in The Cottages. Like I mentioned in the beginning; my mother stayed at this facility for 49 days, and I came all kinds of hours of the day there, and had yet to see a doctor there, ever! So, future families, please beware. All of this took place, from [date removed] until [date removed] . From day number one, when I was told my mother had to stay in The Cottages, I feared for her life, and unfortunately, she did take her last breath there, on [date removed] , room [# removed] , in The Cottages. My mother again was wrongly assessed, and lumped with patients extremely mentally challenged than she was, to the point, it just drained the life from her. She had no working phone in her room at neither location, so unless I was there to physically see my mother, my mom had no way to call or talk to me. When she lived independently, she phoned me everyday. Yet there, she was trapped, and isolated from, until I could come and physically see her. Wexner Heritage Village in there pamphlet says they offer bereavement services: my mother died...if they offered any type of bereavement anything to me, my dead dog did. There you have it, my experience with Wexner Heritage Village facility.

Nursing staff are horrid. The Director of Nursing was awesome and was always readily available to address concerns for my aunt. It’s a shame that the leadership above him seem no good and only knew how to create more drama amongst nursing staff. It’s been shared that my aunt has lost weight due to the food quality and the inability to provide adequate hot water to all of the people who reside there. Look somewhere else.

Apartments are exceptionally nice. Meals overall are good. Always plenty to eat, two entree choices, soup, salad, dessert, and beverages. Public areas are nice and all kept clean. Price I consider on the expensive side. Offers yoga at, exercise, music programs.

Many cultural, educational, and social programs throughout the week. Many new and renewed friendships. Nice sized apartments including galley kitchens and laundry facilities. Medical service is available in house. And transportation to outside medical appointments. Bi-weekly house cleaning. Living here puts my extended family at ease.
