Buda Oaks

Having been here only a week plus a few days, may be hard to make a full assessment.

[name removed] is 100% the primary reason I chose Buda Oaks. Absolutely one of the nicest people I've ever met. The staff are all very nice and attentive.

Buda Oaks has been such a great experience so far, we could not be happier with her being there and she could not be any happier. The staff members take such good care of her and the other residents, the staff to resident ratio is excellent. They are so communicative with the families no matter what happens or what time of day it is they always give us a call. There is never a smell or a thing out of place. Also they have a doctor come see the residents, even X-ray machines or any other medical assistance. The overall value is great and we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Be aware of pretty packages; sometimes their contents aren't what you expect. Buda Oaks is a beautiful facility, but nothing is as it seems. Dealing with management was a nightmare, and the care given my mother was minimal, at best. If micromanaging every aspect of your loved one's care is how you want to spend your time, then, by all means, choose BO. However, if you require real care for your loved one, there is another assisted living facility in town that is exceptional, [community name removed].

Some of the staff was helpful and some were not. My loved one had no complaints about the food. There were a lot of incidents, in which my loved one needed help ( pushed button several times) no one came to help, finally came and still did not help loved one. My loved one is now in long term care and did not have a good experience.

They do have a lot of turnover in admin staff, it has lead to a poor relationship with the director. They have had 3 activity directors in a matter of 4 months. We had problems with the lease agreement amount of money due for any promotion that they had, so make sure you have it in writing because at signing there were issues. This is all due to lack of communication. I would recommend the facility and program to others looking.

The community was great at taking care of my loved one. The administration was not as good or as friendly as the nurses. I would recommend you ask lots of questions, and make sure they tell you everything. They made it hard to get into the community to see my loved one. I feel the administration was looking at my loved one just as a payment.

The staff at the community have been great about keeping us informed during covid, and because of covid we have not really been able to see our loved ones room, but from what we can tell it looks to be really nice and roomy.

My dad loves the food, the activities, and the staff. This period during Covid-19 has been very challenging for the residents, their families, and the staff. They have done a good job of keeping everyone safe and communicating with families.

My family and I cannot thank the staff at Buda Oaks enough for all that was done to get our Dad into their facility during these unprecedented times. The move-in was well orchestrated and Dad felt instantly at home. He cannot say enough about the fresh, scratch-made food and is overwhelmed by the help and support provided by all members of the Buda Oaks staff. We feel very blessed.
