5 for all. We lost mom in November and could not have been better supported and loved and cared for until the end. I never felt any anxiety as I left the parking lot after a visit. I absolutely trusted them to take as good care if not better than I could have myself. I think the value for the money is absolutely key. It is pretty expensive, but she was 100% a member of a family there and all of the caregivers and medical staff cared for her like a mother or grandmother from sitting with her when she got scared to rubbing her hands or face with lotion to having private jokes with her. She felt so loved and so safe.... Read more

This place is very good at first impressions and appearances. Also if you have left your family in their care they will send you pictures and all kinds of beautiful messages. But once you’re family member becomes a regular they are treated sub par and no longer special. There are diamonds in the rough like the enrichment leaders who really care but their boss runs memory care and does a poor job. The place is run on favoritism and making the place look as good as possible for first appearances. But when all the families go home your loved ones are loved and cared for but not by the people that make a show when you come, it’s the ones focusing on the residents and truly engaging with them, those are the real ones. And I guarantee you none of them work behind a computer in the safety of their closet offices. Do not bring your loved one here.

Belmont was a Godsend. They were so caring and kind. All staff members would address my Mom by name, from day 1. Pretty amazing. It was a happy place.

Their memory care unit was the best we saw, and the community was large and active. We felt a huge wave of relief when mom and dad moved in, and they're both really happy there. Definitely would recommend to others. We have no complaints and they're very well cared for. Friendly, helpful staff, good facilities, good activities, highly recommended.

My loved one was a resident at Belmont Village West Lake Hills. We had a wonderful experience with them. They could not have been more attentive to mom's needs. From day 1, the staff addressed us by name. That's a big one when you feel that you have become invisible. So much support. Also, the food was excellent.

Response from Belmont Village West Lake Hills
July 6, 2023Thank you for leaving this thoughtful review. We’re so glad to hear your loved one had a wonderful experience with us.
Belmont Village is a very nice place, and we're very happy we selected it. When my loved one first got there, she had some health issues that needed some special care, which they said they could provide. But we had to really stay on it to make sure things were getting done with care, laundry, trash removal, etc. Their nursing care is good, but their communication is lacking. I still have to call them quite a bit and ask several times to get things done. I understand that no place is perfect. Her health is much better than when she was living at home. The facility is very clean. I eat there with her quite a bit, and the food is good. The staff is friendly and wonderful. It's a nice place overall.

I highly recommend. I know my mom is safe, content and well taken care of at Belmont. She didn't want to move to AL but has adjusted beautifully. She considers Belmont her home and tells me often she likes where she lives and is happy.

Epilogue - After writing my positive review for Belmont Village West Lake Hills in Austin, I’m sad to share that my mom passed away on April 21, 2022 from a heart valve failure with a surgery option not deemed survivable. I was able to fly back from Vienna to be with her the last couple of hours in the hospital before she died but my grief and guilt for not spending more time with her the last couple of years was immense. My daughter shared that staff members from Belmont had visited her that last day. We held a small memorial a few days later and 6 of the staff came to our house to share stories about Bev, including how she flirted with the cute EMT who took her to the hospital on her last day. We laughed and celebrated a beautiful woman as the Belmont family helped ease my guilt and made me understand what a rich life my mother had at Belmont Village. There is family and then there is inner, inner circle family. Thank you Belmont Village, West Lake Texas.

Response from Belmont Village West Lake Hills
June 21, 2022We’re so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing and extend our condolences during this difficult time. We’re glad that our staff provided your mom with a full life while at Belmont Village, and that they were able to support your family during a time of grief. We appreciate you taking time to leave such a thoughtful review, and wish your family all the best.
Our family had an in person tour and it was good the person who took us around was extremely knowledgeable and did a really good job. She spoke very high and positive about all their amenities. However we saw residents just sitting around not really interacting with one another and it just didn't seem like the best fit for our loved one.
Response from Belmont Village West Lake Hills
June 21, 2022Thank you for considering our West Lake Hills community, and we hope you found a community that was a best fit for your loved one. We offer a variety of organized activities each day for our residents to have the opportunity to take part in. If you ever have any questions, please reach out to our community’s executive director.
The general areas inside Belmont Village are clean, but the individualized house keeping could be a little more improved especially in the bathrooms. The care services have been a little inconsistent, the communication could be a little more streamlined and they could have like a "how to guide," however we know everyone has been struggling since the pandemic. The staff who work here are top notch people. They are so professional, kind, caring and helpful. The activities director [name removed] is on top of everything and wears many different hats. She is so creative with coming up with new activities, there is always something going on. Our loved one says this is some of the best food he has had.

June 21, 2022We appreciate the thoughtful review and feedback of how we can further improve our community. We’re glad to hear you appreciate our staff and activities director. We take pride in the team we have caring for our valued residents. Please don’t hesitate to discuss any concerns with our Executive Director.
My mother has been at Belmont since [date removed] and the care she receives has been wonderful. The staff, managers and exec team all have a 'resident first' attitude that is unique. Everyone calls her by name and one of the med tech nurses even carved and painted a little dragon for her that looks like the dragon she swears lives under her bed. We used a Place for Mom three different times and now feel like we have found THE place for Mom.

We had a great tour experience with Belmont Village. This facility was in our top 3 choices, it just came down to the cost and this was a little pricier.
It has been a good experience. The food is good. I like that they offer assisted living vs. independent living. Assisted has been a better fit for my loved ones. It is pricey, but you have to pay for what you want.
The tour of Belmont Village was great. The facility itself is so nice and beautiful. The only issue was it was way too expensive and we would not be able to afford it.
Belmont Westlake has been the perfect place for my wife of 57 years! It has been a real struggle but I will be forever grateful. While there seems to be some turnover there is continuity too. The center is always filled with caregivers and PALs who watch over and care for each resident no matter what the situation is. I was not sure what to do but choosing Belmont was by far the most important move I have ever made. Bless all the good people at Belmont.

I am a care manager in the Austin area and have worked with Belmont since they opened. I have had multiple clients at both locations and have always been please with the care and staff. The staff go above and beyond to keep the residents engaged and making sure their needs are being meet. Any concerns are always quickly addressed. The food is great and overall the residents seem happy and are always out and about interacting with each other. Overall this is a great place to live and receive care.

We had a wonderful experience at The Belmont at Westlake Village for my 87 year old mother in law, who needed memory care in the "Neighborhood". The staff at the Belmont, wonderful [name removed], walked us through the best way to transition from being at home to the Neighborhood. This is difficult for any family, but we followed their advice to the letter and my mother in law enjoyed the people caring for her, the structure of the day, the regular meal/social times, and the friends that she met. The caregivers know what they are doing, have strategies to manage situations, and have hearts of gold! We came to know and love many of them! I loved the home feeling of the entry way, with the sofas around the fireplace and a person to greet you. We felt safe knowing that they were very strict about Covid policies and visiting. During the winter storm, many of the staff went above and beyond by staying on site to make sure the residents were cared for. We will miss being there. Warm welcoming & fun!

My parents moved to Belmont Village WLH in the middle of COVID. I have been very impressed with the ways in which the staff has managed to keep residents engaged both mentally and physically while keeping them safe during this difficult time. I have also been pleased with the level of communication with staff -- the informational emails and texts along with photos, and videos that are sent of my parents at the various activities as well as the accessibility of staff when issues or questions come up. At times when a parent has had to be hospitalized and then go to rehab, BV has provided tremendous support with navigating the local health system so that my parent receives the best possible care. Overall I have been very pleased with both my decision to move my parents to BV and with their happiness living there. I highly recommend Belmont Village!
